Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Kuijieling Decoction on experimental ulcerative colitis rats. Methods Ulcerative colitis rat model was induced by enteroclysis with trinitro-benzene-sulfonic acid(TNBS).Three dosages(18.3 g/kg,9.2 g/kg,4.6 g/kg)of Kuijieling Decoction were used to treat the model rats. After treatment, the serum of rats were obtained to detect the level of IL-1? by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Then the rats were killed for the observation of the colonic pathologic changes by naked eye and for the estimation of the damage scores of colon mucosa. Finally, the colon tissue was fixed to make pathological section and the damage index of colon mucosa was observed under microscope. Results The tissue damage scores of high-and moderate-dosage groups of Kuijieling Decoction were(2.41? 0.79)and(2.83? 0.71)respectively,and were significantly lower than that of model control group(3.75? 0.75;P

【Objective】To observe the effect of Kuijieling Decoction(KD) on NF-?B p65 protein expression in colonic mucosa and serum tumor necrosis factor ?(TNF-?) content of ulcerative colitis rats.【Methods】Sixty SD rats were randomized into 6 groups: normal group, model group,salicylazosulfapyridine(SASP,0.5g?kg-1?d-1) group and three KD(18.3,9.2 and 4.6 g?kg-1?d-1 respectively) groups.Except the normal group, the rats received enteroclysis of trinitro-benzene-sulfonic acid(TNBS) to induce ulcerative colitis models.Serum content of TNF-? was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Then the rats were executed to make tissue section. The tissue sections were stained by immunohistochemistry and the cells with positive expression of NF-?B p65 protein were counted under microscope.【Results】The serum level of TNF-? and the cell number of positive expression of NF-?B p65 protein in high-and moderate-dose KD groups were lower than those in the model group(P

Objective To explore the changes of proteins level of TLR2 in colonic mucosa of ulcerative colitis( UC) model rats and to observe the effects of Kuijieling Decoction( KD) on TLR2. Methods UC model rats were induced by TNBS. The rats were randomly divided into six groups as follows: normal control (NC) group, model control (MC) group, lowdose Kuijieling (KLD) group, mediumdose Kuijieling( KMD) group, high- dose Kuijieling (KHD) group and SASP group. After 10- days treatment the rats were killed to get their colonic mucosa and extract the whole- cell proteins. Western blot technique was used to detect the TLR2 protein level. ? - actin was used as the internal index. Relative expression level of target protein was calculated from the gray scale ratio of TLR2 and ? - actin. Results Relative protein expression level of TLR2 in MC group was significantly higher than that in NC group (P

Objective To analyze risk factors for the perioperative complications and death following hip fracture in the elderly. Methods The present study included 1352 elderly patients (≥65 years) who had received hip fracture surgery from January 2010 to June 2015 in Huadong hospital affiliated to Fudan University. Their clinical data were analyzed to determine risk factors for perioperative complications and death. Results Factors significantly affecting the perioperative complications included gender, preoperative serum albumin, ASA grade (≥Ⅲ), cardiac functional grade (≥Ⅲ), respiratory system disease and blood transfusion. Factors significantly affecting the death included preoperative serum albumin, ASA grade (≥Ⅲ), cardiac functional grade (≥Ⅲ) and blood transfusion. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that the independent risk factors for perioperative complications included gender (B=-0.686, P=0.019), preoperative serum albumin (B=-0.808, P=0.006), cardiac functional grade (≥Ⅲ, B=1.181, P=0.004), blood transfusion (B=0.890, P=0.004) and respiratory system disease (B=3.118, P=0.000);while the independent risk factors for death included preoperative serum albumin (B=-2.516, P=0.000) and blood transfusion (B=1.396, P=0.010). Conclusions In elderly patients undergoing hip fracture surgery, the independent risk factors for perioperative complications included gender, preoperative serum albumin, cardiac functional grade, blood transfusion and respiratory system disease, while the independent risk factors for death included preoperative serum albumin and blood transfusion. Perioperative risk assessment and prevention are the keys of better prognosis.

Hereditary spastic paraplegia is a heterogeneous group of genetic neurodegenerative disorders of the
nervous system. It is classified into four subtypes based on the mode of inheritance; and among them,
most autosomal recessive hereditary spastic paraplegia cases are due to type SPG11 and SPG15 gene
mutations. Autosomal recessive hereditary spastic paraplegia cases with SPG30 gene mutation have
never been reported in China. Herein, we present our experience with a case of hereditary spastic
paraplegia with SPG30 gene mutation in our hospital from North East China. In this patient we detected
a missense mutation of c.499 C>T (p.Arg167Cys) in gene KIF1A, a causative gene of type SPG30.

Objective To detect the argyrophilic proteins in nucleolar organizer regions(Ag-NORs) that express rDNA and rRNA proliferation of T lymphocytes before chemotherapy and after complete remission(CR) in children with primary acute leukemia(AL).Methods The argyrophilic granules area of NOR/nuclear area(I.S%) of T lymphocytes was detected by image analysis system in peripheral blood of 42 patients before chemotherapy and after CR and 30 normal children. Results I.S% in the patients before chemotherapy(5.06%?1.36%) were significantly lower than those in the healthy donors(7.51%?1.06%)(t=8.238 P0.05).Conclusion These results suggest that decrease of Ag-NORs expresses the evidence for tumour induced suppression of immune function of T cells in children with AL prior to treatment.

The association of the progress of diabetic nephropathy with the sclerosis of major artery was investigated.Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) was positively correlated with urinary albumin and creatinine ratio, and negatively correlated with glomerular filtration rate in diabetes group, suggesting that thickened CIMT may predict the increasing risk of clinical nephropathy in the patients with microalbuminuria.

BACKGROUNDSilicon gel is unfavourable for cell attachment and growth. This study was to study if pretreating the surface of silicon gel with chemical agents affects the proliferation of epithelial cells.
METHODSSilicon gel was made and treated with either mixed acid solution (containing 232 g/dm(3) of H(2)SO(4) and 8 g/dm(3) of K(2)Cr(2)O(7)) or 300 cm(3)/dm(3) peroxide for 5, 10, and 15 minutes or 10, 15, and 20 minutes, respectively. The cultured corneal epithelial cells were seeded onto those silicon gels and kept for 13 days. Immunohistochemical investigations were then carried out for integrin (alpha 6 or beta 4) and actin.
RESULTSGrowth of the epithelial cells in silicon gels treated with mixed acid solution for 10 minutes and 15 minutes was much significant than that in the untreated gels. After a 12-hour culture, a small number of corneal epithelial cells were proliferated on the surface of the silicon gels that had been treated with peroxide for 15 minutes. After a 3-day culture, those cells were further proliferated and fused together. The corneal epithelial cells did not grow well in the silicon gels treated with peroxide for 10 or 20 minutes. Immunostaining revealed the expression of actin and integrin alpha 6 or beta 4 on the silicon gels that were treated with mixed acid solution for 10 minutes or peroxide for 15 minutes.
CONCLUSIONSilicon gels treated either with mixed acid solution for 10 or 15 minutes or with peroxide for 15 minutes improves cell proliferation.
