Objective To evaluate the application of ZEEK thrombus aspiration catheter in treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in elderly patients. Methods The 52 patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI)were treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) plus thrombus aspiration by using ZEEK thrombus aspiration catheter (ZEEK group), and 42 STEMI patients were treated only with PCI (control group). The regression rate of ST segment, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), incidence of no-reflow and mortality were followed up after PCI during hospitalization. Results No-reflow occurred in 5 (11.9%) patients and 1 (1.9 %) patient in the control group and ZEEK group, respectively. And 2 deaths were encountered only in the control group. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusions AMI treatments with PCI and application of ZEEK aspiration thrombus catheter are safe and effective. The two methods could lower thrombosis burden, may improve distal myocardium perfusion and cardiac function after the procedure.

In this research, mononuclear cells from cord blood were modified with 3mg/ml, 6mg/ml and 12mg/ml methoxy polyethylene glycol (mPEG) respectively. The cell surface antigens and the ability of CFU GM proliferation of mPEG modified cord blood lymphocytes were analyzed. Flow cytometric analysis demonstrated that mPEG modified lymphocytes attenuated CD3, CD4 and CD8 antibodies binding to antigens on lymphocyte surface ( P

Objective:To study the perioperative anticoagulant therapy for patients in prevention of moderate or high risk of pulmonary embolism(PE)after general surgery.Method:1146 patients who had undergone major general surgery were divided into a non-anticoagulant therapy group and an anticoagulant therapy group. There were 743 patients without the anticoagulant therapy during Jan.2005 to Aug.2008,a preventive anticoagulant therapy was performed on 403 patients who recived 5 000IU(142 patients at moderate risk of PE)or 10 000IU(261 patients at high risk of PE)low molecular weight heparin(LWMH)subcutaneous injection after major general surgery during Jan.2006 to Nov.2008.Result: Five cases died and 2 survived among 7 PE patients.Hemorrhage occurred in 3 out of 403 cases(0.7%),but no PE occurred among 403 patients administered with the LWMH anticoagulant therapy. The incidence of PE in the patients reciving LWMH decreased from 0.9%to 0(P

Objective To explore in vitro effects and the mechanism for FLAG regimen compared with IA regimen in P-glycoprotein-positive and -negative acute myeloblastic leukemia(AML) cell lines. Methods The expression of P-glycoprotein in K562 and K562/A02 cells were analyzed by flow cytometry. The effects of FLAG and IA on the proliferation of K562 and K562/A02 cells were detected by MTT assay. The Ara-CTP and Ara-C levels in those cells were measured by HPLC,the gene expression of hENT1 in K562 and K562/A02 cells was detected by real-time PCR. Results The positive rates of P- glycoprotein were (1.32±0.24)% in K562 cell and (97.66±3.77)% in K562/A02 cell, respectively. The expression of P- glycoprotein had no change after treated with FLAG or IA. The cytotoxicity to K562 of IA was better than FLAG [(84.41±9.33) % v.s (73.17±13.20)%, P<0.05], and the cytotoxicity to K562/A02 of FLAG was better than IA [(70.55±11.32)% v.s (48.46±12.81)%, P<0.01]. Ara-C and Ara-CTP accumulation and hENT1 expression in AML cells treated with FLAG were higher than that treated with IA. Conclusion P-glycoprotein-positive AML cells are more sensitive to FLAG regimen than IA regimen. The biochemical modulation of Ara-CTP and Ara-C may be the major mechanism.

Objective To determine the serum 25 hydroxy vitamin D3[25(OH)D3]levels in chil-dren with bronchial asthma and its relationship with lung function, fraction of exhaled nitric oxide( FeNO). Methods Totally 112 children with asthma aged 6 years to 14 years old were selected as the study group, meanwhile 78 healthy children aged 6 years to 14 years old were selected as the control group, serum 25 ( OH)D3 was determined using the electrochemical luminescence method. Lung function was measured, which included peak expiratory flow( PEF),forced expiratory volume in one second( FEV1 ),percentage of PEF in predicted value( PEF% pred),percentage of FEV1 in predicted value( FEV1% pred). FeNO of the study group was measured. The relationship between serum 25( OH)D3 and PEF% pred,FEV1% pred,FeNO were all analyzed. Results The proportion of vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency in the study group were higher than those in the control group(χ2 =7. 78,P﹤0. 01). The values of PEF% pred and FEV1% pred were decreased with the decreasing of the 25(OH)D3 levels(F=28. 12,29. 56,P﹤0. 05),FeNO values were in-creased with the decreasing of the 25(OH)D3 levels(F=15. 65,P﹤0. 05). Conclusion Vitamin D defi-ciency or insufficiency is related to asthma in children. It is associated with the decrease of lung function, and can increase the level of airway inflammation in children with asthma.

Objective To determine the efficacy of glucose-loweringtreatment by proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS).Methods Bilateral frontal lobes of 45 male patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) underwent 1 H-MRS separately bythe time it was first diagnosed.Among them,30 were treated with insulin,15 were rejected. The bilateral frontal lobes of all patients were re-examined with 1 H-MRS after 6 months. The ratios of metabolites in the frontal lobe were recorded and compared, and observing whether the lactate(Lac) peak appeared or not. Results Significantly higher values of the N-acetylaspartate (NAA)/creatine (Cr)ratio and NAA/choline (Cho) ratio after 6 months (2.414 2± 0.206 6 and 2.244 2±0.341 5) were found in bilateral frontal lobes compared with pre-therapy (1.905 3±0.135 7 and 1.906 0±0.322 1)(P<0.05).Significantly lower values of the NAA/Cr ratio and NAA/Cho ratio in the refuse treatment group(1.504 2 ± 0.262 4 and 1.510 0± 0.220 8) were found in bilateral frontal lobes compared with pre therapy (1.960 0±0.175 0 and 1.880 8±0.297 0)(P<0.05).Lac peak was not detected in the all experiments. Conclusion 1 H-MRS provides valuable information in the assessment and evaluation of clinical efficacy and prognosis of T2DM by detecting the changes of brain metabolism.

Objective To observe responses of brain evoked by somatic stimuli in healthy subjects with blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging. Methods There were 30 healthy subjects in the study. Block design was used infunctional MR imaging. In experimental tasks somatic stimuli was executed to the hands of every subject at duration 1000 ms,interstimulus intervals 1000 ms.The professional software-SPM99 was performed to process the images. Results For healthy subjects to somatic stimuli, significant activation was observed in bilateral primary and secondary somatic cortex of precentral gyri and postcentral gyri, and temporallobes. Scattered activations could be seen in frontal lobes, supramarginal gyri and hemisphere of cerebella. There was more intensiveactivation in right hemisphere than that in left. There was no significant difference between the activation evoked by somatic stimuli of leftand right extremities. Conclusion somatic stimuli can evoke significant activations in bilateral primary and secondary somatic cortex.Temporal lobes and other brain areas join in the process of somatic stimuli.
