ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between serum sCD40L level and coronary stenosis degree in acute coronary syndromes(ACS) patients with different glucose tolerance conditions.Methods154 patients with ACS were divided into normal glucose tolerance group ( NGT),impaired glucose tolerance group (IGT) and type 2 diabetes group (T2DM) according to the OGTT.The levels of serum sCD40L were detected by ELISA,and all patients underwent coronary angiography in order to calculate their Gensini score. Then the relationship between serum sCD40L level and coronary stenosis was analyzed by statistics.ResultsThe Gensini scores of IGT[(41.8 ± 19.8)score] and T2DM groups [(40.1 ± 18.7)score] were higher than NGT group [(21.9 ± 15.3)score] ( P <0.01 ),but there was no statistical difference between IGT and T2DM ( P > 0.05 ) group. The serum sCD40L levels of IGT[(2.46 ± 0.79 )ng/ml]were higher than NGT group [(2.12 ± 0.81 )ng/ml] ( P < 0.05 ),and the serum sCD40L levels in T2DM group [( 2.57 ± 0.68) ng/ml] were obviously higher than NGT group [( 2.12 ± 0.81 ) ng/ml] ( P < 0.01 ).The serum sCD40L levels in T2DM group were higher IGT group, but there was no statistical difference between T2DM and IGT groups( P >0.05).Statistical analysis revealed that serum sCD40L levels had no statistical difference among the three groups and it had no relationship with coronary stenosis ( r =-0.147,P >0.05).ConclusionsCD40/CD40L activation would occur in the patients of ACS with wildly abnormal blood sugar, not only in those who had diabetes with much higher blood sugar. The serum sCD40L level in the ACS patients with abnormal glucose tolerance had no relationship with the severity of coronary stenosis.

Objective To explore the effects of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in the hyperoxia-induced lung injury in premature rats. Methods Forty-eight premature Wistar rats were randomized into two groups 12 hours after birth:hyperoxia group (n=24) inhaled 95%oxygen and control group (n=24) inhaled air. Eight rats were sacriifced in each group on day 1, 3, 7 after the treatment and the left lungs were embedded. The pathological changes in the HE stained sections of lung tissues were observed. The expressions of ER related protein ERp57 and c/EBP homologous protein CHOP were detected by immuno histo-chemistry and the apoptosis of lung cells was detected by TUNEL analysis. Results The typical pathological characteristics of acute lung injury were observed in hyperoxia group. The expressions of ERp57 and CHOP were increased with the exposure time in hyperoxia group, and were signiifcantly higher than in control group (P<0.05). The apoptosis rate of lung cells in hyperoxia group was signiifcantly higher than in control group (P<0.01). There was signiifcant positive correlation between cell apoptosis index and expressions of Erp57 and c/EBP homogeneous protein. Conclusions ER stress initiated apoptosis participates and plays an important role in the process of hyperoxia-induced lung injury in premature rats.

Febuxostat, as a xanthine oxidase inhibitor, is a classic anti-gout drug with significant therapeutic effects and good tolerability. The structures of febuxostat and its derivatives can be divided into two parts: a substituted phenyl ring and a five-membered or six-membered heterocyclic ring with a carboxyl substitution. This paper reviewed the research progress of febuxostat derivatives in recent ten years and classified the structure-activity relationships of various febuxostat derivatives. Exploring the action mechanisms and structure-activity relationships of xanthine oxidase inhibitors might be significant for the rational design and development of new anti-gout chemical entities.

Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of bivalirudin during perioperation of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients older than 80 years old with acute coronary syndrome. Methods A total of 64 patients were randomly divided into two groups, respectively received heparin(n=32), or bivalirudin (n=32). We compared the activated coagulation time (ACT), procedural success rate, bleeding rate between two groups. Results The two groups ACT, PCI success rates are not statistically different, No signiifcant difference in the incidence of mild hemorrhage which is 4 (12.5%) for heparin and 1(3.1%) for bivalirudin and severe bleeding which is 2 (6.2%) for heparin and 0 for bivalirudin. However there are signiifcant differences in the overall incidence of bleeding between the two groups with lower incidence of beeding in the bivalirudin group than the heparin group (P<0.05). Conclusions Bivalirudin has comparable anticoangulation effect as heparin during perioperation of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) among patients older than 80 years of age with acute coronary syndrome with lower bleeding incidence than heparin dose.

ObjectiveTo investigate the optimun approach to induce the atherosclerotic rat model.MethodsThree methods were used to induce atherosclerotic model, including: simple high fat diet feeding, high fat diet feeding with gastric perfusion of Vitamin D3, and gastric perfusion of Vitamin D3 with common rat food (splashed oil on the normal rat food with yolks and peanuts). Histopathology change of the atherosclerotic plaques in aorta was observed by normal and histopathologic sections and Hematoxylin staining.ResultsThe endarterium of aorta of the rats with simple high fat diet was smooth without atherosclerotic plaques after 2 months. 2 rats with high fat diet feeding and gastric perfusion of Vitamin D3 had formed miliary atherosclerotic plaques. In the rats with vitamin D3 and common rat food, the ring-shape calcified atherosclerotic plaques were found in the all endarterium of aorta.ConclusionGastric perfusion of Vitamin D3 once a week (3 times) combined with common rat diet could induce the atherosclerotic model successfully and decrease the mortality rate.
