Forkhead box Q1 (FoxQ1) is a transcription factor protein with the function of cell differentiation regulation.Recently,increasing evidence has demonstrated that FoxQ1 is significantly associated with pathogenesis of digestive system tumors.This article systematically reviewed the expression and the role of FoxQ1 in the pathogenesis of digestive system tumors.Potential therapeutic target of FoxQ1 was discussed as well.
2.Analysis of good practice of Public Health Emergency Operations Centers

Objective:To study the public health Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs)in the US, the European Union, the UK and Australia, and summarize the good practice for the improvement of National Health Emergency Response Command Center in Chinese National Health and Family Planning Commission.Methods:Literature review was conducted to explore the EOCs of selected countries.Results:The study focused on EOC function, organizational structure, human resources and information management. The selected EOCs had the basic EOC functions of coordinating and commanding as well as the public health related functions such as monitoring the situation, risk assessment, and epidemiological briefings. The organizational structures of the EOCs were standardized, scalable and flexible. Incident Command System was the widely applied organizational structure with a strong preference. The EOCs were managed by a unit of emergency management during routine time and surge staff were engaged upon emergencies. The selected EOCs had clear information management framework including information collection, assessment and dissemination.Conclusions:The performance of National Health Emergency Response Command Center can be improved by learning from the good practice of the selected EOCs, including setting clear functions, standardizing the organizational structure, enhancing the human resource capacity and strengthening information management.
3.Effect of Doxycycline on Gastric Cancer Cell Proliferation and Notch1, MMP-9 Expression

Objective To investigate the effect of Doxycycline on gastric cancer cell line BGC-823 proliferation and Notch1, Matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)expression in order to shine a light on new anticancer drugs. Methods Final concentration of 0, 5, 10, 20, 40 mg/L doxycycline were added into human gastric cancer cell line BGC-823. Cell pro-liferation was detected by MTT;Cell cycle distribution was assessed by flow cytometry;Notch1, MMP-9 protein expression was revealed by Immunoblot. Results Doxycycline can inhibit proliferation of human gastric cancer cells line BGC-823, and its effect is dose and time-dependent(P<0.01). Doxycycline alters distribution of gastric cancer cell line BGC-823. With increasing drug concentration, the proportion of cells in S phase dropped(P<0.01). Notch1 expression rose and MMP-9 expression decreased(P<0.01). Conclusion Doxycyclinecan inhibited gastric cancer cell line BGC-823 prolif-eration and up-regulating Notch1 might be one mechanisms.
5.Analysis of the genetic context of high level aminoglycosides resistance gene 16S rRNA methylase gene armA

Objective To analysis the genetic context of armA gene identified in different species .Methods BLASTN searches were used to analysis sequences harboring armA submitted to the GenBank database .Results armA gene was mostly found down-stream of ISCR1 element and was most commonly detected in Enterobacter spp ..Its flanking sequences were highly conserved in Enterobacter spp ..Conclusion The genetic context of armA gene reported in different species scattered in different geometrical lo-cations share some common characteristics .
6.Effect of Electroacupuncture on Learning and Memory and Heme Oxygenase in Rats with Vascular Dementia

[Objective] To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on the disorder of learning and memory in rats with vascular dementia (VD) and to explore its molecular mechanism. [Methods] Among 60 male SD rats, 10 rats were in sham-operation group and the other 50 rats were used to establish models of global ischemia and reperfusion by four-vessel occlusion (4-VO) method. Then the survival model rats were randomized into EA group (n = 14) , model group (n = 13) and nimotop group (n = 13). EA group was treated with EA at points of Baihui (GV20) and Dazhui (GV14) , nimotop group with nimotop 12 mg/kg, and sham-operation group and model group did not receive any treatment. After a 20-day treatment, the changes of learning and memory behavior in rats were detected by Morris water maze, as well as the protein expression and mRNA expression of heme oxygenase (HO) . [Results] The escape latent period, HO-1 protein expression and HO-1 mRNA-expression were increased obviously in model rats ( P 0.05). [Conclusion] EA can improve the learning and memory behavior in rats with VD and this may be related to the decrease of HO-1 protein expression and HO-1 mRNA-expression in cortex and hippocampal neurons.
7.Follow-up observations of 200 cases of endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy for palmar hyperhidrosis

Objective To assess the outcomes,complications,and quality of life following endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy(ETS) of the T2~T4 ganglia for treating primary palmar hyperhidrosis(PH). Methods A total of 200 cases were followed with clinic checkups or telephone inquiries for a period of 1~28 months(mean,18.4 months). Results Of the 200 cases,8 cases were loss of follow-up and 192 cases obtained a complete and fully satisfactory alleviation of palmer and axillary hyperhidrosis.No recurrence and severe complications were found.The prime complication was compensatory hyperhidrosis(52/192,27.1%),whose incidence was slightly higher in female and severe patients and unrelated to age.Other complications included 1 case of pneumothorax and 1 case of pulmonary atelectasis. Conclusions Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy of the T_2~T_4 ganglia for palmar hyperhidrosis is effective,safe and reliable.The procedure improves patients' quality of life and gives satisfactory outcomes.However,all patients should be informed of the common complications,particularly compensatory hyperhidrosis,before the surgery.
8.Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy: A clinical research of 200 cases

Objective To summarize the experience of 200 cases of endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy(ETS). Methods Clinical materials of T_2~T_4 sympathectomy under thoracoscope for treating palmar hyperhidrosis from January 2003 to April 2005 were analysed. Results [WTBZ] All the 200 cases of operation were successfully completed.Symptoms of hyperhidrosis vanished with both hands dry and warm in all the patients.Plamar temperature increased by a mean of(3.1?0.9)℃ after operation.Follow-up observations in 192 cases for 1~28 months(mean,18.4 months) found no recurrence.Compensatory hyperhidrosis was found in 52 cases(27.1%). Conclusions Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy is a safe,effective,and micro-invasive treatment for palmar hyperhidrosis.
9.The diagnostic value of 18F-FDG PET/CT in the localization of ectopic adrenocorticotrophic hormone-secreting tumors

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/CT in the localization of ectopic adrenocorticotrophic hormone ( ACTH)-secreting tumors. Methods Seven patients with ectopic ACTH syndrome (confirmed by clinical symptom, biochemical data or bilateral simultaneous inferior petrosal sinus sampling) were included, 4 males and 3 females with age ranged 27-63 years old.All patients were examined with head MR, chest and abdomen CT, abdomen ultrasonography, and whole body 18F-FDG PET/CT. Location, size, and the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) of the tumor were measured. Results 18 F-FDG PET/CT detected three ectopic ACTH-secreting tumors with the sizes 1. 1 cm×1.0 cm (SUVmax =9.4), 1.5 cm×1.1cm (SUVmax =6.4), and 1.6 cm ×1.5 cm (SUVmax =12.0). The pathological findings of the three tumors were thymoma, lung carcinoid, and mediastinal carcinoid respectively. Conclusion 18 F-FDG PET/CT may help the localization of ecto pic ACTH-secreting tumors .
10.Effect of wearing of soft corneal contact lens for long term on apoptosis of corneal epithelial cell

Background Wearing of soft contact lens,as one of the important methods to correct ametropia,has been widely applied at present.The clinically deleterious effects of soft contact lens have been reported,but researches about influence of apoptosis of corneal epithelial cells are scant.Objective This study was to detect and compare the ratio of apoptosis of corneal epithelial cells between the patients with contact lens wearing and without contact lens wearing,and explore the influence of soft contact lens wearing for long term on growth of corneal epithelial cells after injury.Methods A retrospective nest case-controlled study was designed.Forty eyes of 20 myopic patients with wearing of soft contact lens for ≥5 years and 40 eyes of 20 myopic patients without wearing of soft contact lens were included in Affiliated Hospital of Guiyang Medical College.All the patients received the off-flap epipolis laser in situ keratomileusis (Epi-LASIK) from 2010 October to 2011 June.The corneal flaps were collected during the surgery.The apoptosis of corneal epithelial cells was detected by flow cytometry(FCM),and the difference of apoptotic proportion between the two groups was compared using independent sample t test.Results The FCM scatter plot showed that compared to the without contact lens wearing group,the early stage of apoptotic cells with high staining annexin V and low staining proaium iodide (PI) were much more,and survival cells with low staining annexin V and PI were less,and necrotic and late stage of apoptotic cells with high staining of annexin V/PI were more in the with contact lens wearing group.The early stage of apoptosis proportion of corneal epithelial cells was (11.23 ± 5.31)% in the with contact lens wearing group,and that in the without contact lens wearing group was (7.31± 5.43)%,showing a significant difference between them (t=2.754,P=0.008).Conclusions A long term wearing of contact lens induce more apoptosis of corneal epithelial cells,which can result in a disorder of structure and function of ocular surface during the wound healing stage.
