Objective To investigate the relationship between the polymorphism of the tumor necrosis factor-αgene-308 promoter and bronchial asthma (BA)in Uighur and Kazakh population in Xinjiang.Methods PCR product sequencing method was used to detect the polymorphism distribution of TNF-αgene in 60 BA patients and 60 controls among Xinjiang Uighur and Kazakh population.Then we analyzed the association between different TNF-αgenotypes and BA in Uighur and Kazakh population.Results The distribution of GG,GA and AA genotype was significantly different between the two groups.Statistical analysis showed that BA group had a significantly higher TNF-αA allele frequency than that of the control one (P <0.05).After adjustment for sex and age,we found the A allele was a risk factor for BA pathogenesis (P <0.05).Conclusion The polymorphism of TNF-α gene-308 may be associated with the susceptibility to BA in Xinjiang Uighur and Kazakh population,so TNF-α gene-308 may be considered as a genetic marker for early identification of individuals at high risk for BA,which may play an important role in preventing the development of BA in clinical practice.

Objective To observe the structural abnormalities of the painful shoulder in patients soon after stroke by M RI,and to identify the possible causes of post-stroke shoulder pain (PSSP).Methods Patients with hemiplegia following their first cerebrovascular accident were divided into 2 groups:PSSP group (32 patients) and post-stroke no shoulder pain (PSNSP) group (20 patients).Physical findings of affected shoulder and MRI findings of both affected and unaffected shoulders were evaluated.Results Shoulder subluxation was significantly more frequent in PSSP group than in PSNSP group (53％ vs 15％,P ＜0.05).In PSSP group,the incidence rate of rotator cuff injury,subacromial-subdeltoid bursa effusion,glenohumeral joint effusion,effusion of long head of biceps tendon was higher in affected side than that in unaffected side(63％ vs 13％,53％ vs 13％,75％ vs 31％,41％ vs 13％,respectively).In PSNSP group,the incidence rate of glenohumeral joint effusion was higher in affected side than that in unaffected side (70％ vs 17％).But compared with no pain hemiplegic shoulder,only rotator cuff injury and subacromial-subdeltoid bursa effusion were significantly higher in PSSP patients (63％ vs15％,53％ vs 25％,respectively),and there was significant difference between the two groups (P ＜0.05).Conclusion Rotator cuff injury was found to be a possible cause of PSSP.

Background Wearing of soft contact lens,as one of the important methods to correct ametropia,has been widely applied at present.The clinically deleterious effects of soft contact lens have been reported,but researches about influence of apoptosis of corneal epithelial cells are scant.Objective This study was to detect and compare the ratio of apoptosis of corneal epithelial cells between the patients with contact lens wearing and without contact lens wearing,and explore the influence of soft contact lens wearing for long term on growth of corneal epithelial cells after injury.Methods A retrospective nest case-controlled study was designed.Forty eyes of 20 myopic patients with wearing of soft contact lens for ≥5 years and 40 eyes of 20 myopic patients without wearing of soft contact lens were included in Affiliated Hospital of Guiyang Medical College.All the patients received the off-flap epipolis laser in situ keratomileusis (Epi-LASIK) from 2010 October to 2011 June.The corneal flaps were collected during the surgery.The apoptosis of corneal epithelial cells was detected by flow cytometry(FCM),and the difference of apoptotic proportion between the two groups was compared using independent sample t test.Results The FCM scatter plot showed that compared to the without contact lens wearing group,the early stage of apoptotic cells with high staining annexin V and low staining proaium iodide (PI) were much more,and survival cells with low staining annexin V and PI were less,and necrotic and late stage of apoptotic cells with high staining of annexin V/PI were more in the with contact lens wearing group.The early stage of apoptosis proportion of corneal epithelial cells was (11.23 ± 5.31)％ in the with contact lens wearing group,and that in the without contact lens wearing group was (7.31± 5.43)％,showing a significant difference between them (t=2.754,P=0.008).Conclusions A long term wearing of contact lens induce more apoptosis of corneal epithelial cells,which can result in a disorder of structure and function of ocular surface during the wound healing stage.

Objective To explore the effects of Sanban manipulation of spine on ankylosing spondylitis (AS) at the early-middle stage.Methods 60 AS patients at the early-middle stage were divided into drug group (n=30) and manipulation group (n=30). The drug group wastreated with sulfasalazine and the sustained-release pills of Zhengqingfengtongning, while the manipulation group were treated with Sanbanmanipulation of spine additionally. Self-developed questionnaire were used to follow up before and 1, 3 and 6 months after treatment. ResultsThe Schober index and the finger-floor distance improved more in the manipulation group than in the drug group (P<0.05) 3 months aftertreatment. All the index improved more in the manipulation group than in the drug group (P<0.05) 6 months after treatment. ConclusionSanban manipulation of spine can improve the thoracolumbar activities in the AS patients at the early-middle stage.

Corneal endothelial cell(CEC)is the most critical part for the cornea, of which activity can influence the postoperative vision.It is very important for the clinical cornea preservation considering the function and its self-purification of donor cornea.There are a variety of classical methods, which can significantly prolong the saving time of donor cornea with its good quality of CEC.We reviewed the published papers about present preservation methods of cornea, which can give us many suggestions for the clinical cornea preservation.

Objective To study the value of CT angiography(CTA) and three dimensional contrast enhanced magnetic resonance angiography(3D CE-MRA) in the diagnosis of arteriosclerotic occlusive disease (ASO) of lower limb and evaluate arterial stenosis. Methods Thirty-eight patients clinically suspected ASO were studied with CTA and3D CE-MRA,twenty-two patients underwent DSA at the same time. The degree of seriousness of the stenosis shown by various imaging techniques were analyzed respectively. Results Using the DSA images as the standard reference, the sensitivity and specificity of CTA were 97.3% ,99. 1%, and MRA both were 100.0% in detecting the segments occluded. With regard the detection of segments that had more than moderate stenosis ,the sensitivity and specificity of CT were 99.3% ,97.6% ,and MRA were 97.9% ,96.4%. The degree of seriousness of the stenosis shown by MRA was overestimated than CTA on the segments that had more than moderate stenosis(x2 =5.80,P ＜0. 05). Conclusion CTA and 3D CE-MRA were reliable method in diagnosis of ASO.

Objective Cathepsin K (CTSK) played an important role in adipocyte differentiation.The activation of CTSK needs to convey by mannose-6-phosphate receptors (M6PR) in osteoclasts. The aim of the present study was to identify the effects of mannose-6-phosphate (M6P) in adipocyte differentiation and its underlying molecular mechanism. Methods Oil red O staining, accumulation of cytoplasmic triglycerides and glycerine release were used to assess its effects on adipocyte differentiation in the 3T3-L1cell line. The enzyme activity of CTSK was observed by laser confocal microscopy. The proliferation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes was detected by MTT methods. mRNA expression of M6PR was determined by RTPCR. Results M6P could prevent adipocyte differentiation in a dose-dependent manner as evidenced by absence of triglyceride accumulation and glycerol content. Statistical significance was showed when the concentrations of M6P were 5.0 mmol/L and 8. 0 mmol/L respectively(P ＜0. 05). The mRNA expression of M6PR was detected during the whole process of adipocyte differentiation. With the increase of M6Pconcentration, enzyme activity of CTSK was inhibited in a concentration-dependent manner. MTT method showed that the absorbance at 570 nm of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes was 0. 057 ±0. 091, increased about 62. 9%at 10. 0 mmoL/L compared with the control group (P ＜ 0. 05 ). Conclusion M6P inhibits the terminal differentiation of adipocyte, which may be associated with its effect of blocking CTSK activity by competitive binding with M6PR.

Objective:To improve students' knowledge and skills of AIDS prevention,analyze the effect of interactive peer education,and explore effective ways to carry out peer education.Methods:From September 2015 to May 2016,the freshmen in one college of Xi'an were investigated of AIDS knowledge,attitude and behavior using questionnaire as baseline data.Seven hundred peers of them received education with the methods of brainstorming,group discussion and questions,and case analysis.Then a questionnaire survey was conducted again to evaluate the effect of peer education.Results:After the intervention peer education,the scores of basic AIDS knowledge,prevention knowledge,relevant attitude and the rate of positive behavioral selection were significantly increased (P ＜0.05).Approximately 92.50％ of the students thought that having sex with only one partner can reduce the spread of AIDS and 81.76％ of the students were willing to help AIDS patients.Conclusions:Interactive peer education for college students has a good applicability,the effect is remarkable,and it is worth popularizing in colleges.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Yijing Recipe (YR) on the apoptosis of testis spermatogenic cells and the protein expression of Bcl-2/Bax in rats with adenine induced infertility.

METHODSTotally 75 Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, i.e., the blank control group, the model group, the high dose YR group, the middle dose YR group, and the low dose YR group, 15 in each group. Except those in the blank control group, rats in the rest groups were intragastrically administered with adenine for 10 successive days. From the 11th day, rats in the blank control group and the model group were fed with equal volume of normal saline. Rats in the YR groups were intragastrically administered with YR at different doses (3.38 g/100 g; 1.69 g/100 g; 0.85 g/100 g), once daily for 20 consecutive days. All rats were killed by the end of the experiment and their testes extracted. The apoptosis of spermatogenic cells and the expression of Bcl-2/Bax proteins were detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated biotinylated UTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) and SABC method.

RESULTSCompared with the blank control group, the Bcl-2 protein expression decreased, the Bax protein expression increased, and the apoptosis index increased in the model group, showing statistical difference (P <0.01). Compared with the model group, the Bcl-2 protein expression increased in the three YR treated groups (P <0.01, P <0.05). The Bax protein expression level decreased in the high and middle dose YR groups (P <0. 01, P <0. 05). The apoptosis index decreased in the middle dose YR group (P <0.01).

CONCLUSIONYR could inhibit the apoptosis of spermatogenic cells through regulating the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax protein in the testis.
