1.Effects of GvHR in the pathogenesis of immunologically mediated aplastic anemia in mice
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(03):-
Using observation of the gross and histological changes of skin, intestine, liver and spleen, the spleen index, the popliteal lymph node weight gaining, and the ~(125)I-UdRincorporation assay, the effects of GvHR in the pathogenesis of immunologically mediatedaplastic anemia in mice were studied. Rtsults showed that there were no gross and histological changes due to GvHR foundin skin, intestine, liver and spleen, and the spleen index decreased markedly, and therewere positive popliteal lymph node weight gaining and positive ~(125)I-UdR incorporationassay which showed a dose dependent corrlation. These results suggested that, transfusion of DBA/2 lymphocytes into lethally irradia-ted BALB/c mice could evoke GvHR, but on the other hand, the effects of GvHR werenot very important in the pathogenesis of immunologically mediated aplastic anemia inmice.

The Journal of Practical Medicine 2015;(7):1111-1113
Objective To investigate the expressions of STAT3 and HIF-1α in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and its relationships with clinical pathological characteristics and prognosis. Methods The expressions of STAT3 and HIF-1α protein were examined via immunohistochemistry in 50 cases of ESCC and normal esophageal mucosa tissue. Results In the immunohistochemistry of 50 ESCC , the positive expression rates of STAT3 and HIF-1α were 70% and 58%, respectively , significantly higher than those at the adjacent normal mucosa (P < 0.05). The expression of STAT3 in ESCC patients was significantly related to the lymph node metastasis, depth of invasion and TNM stage. The 30-month survival rates were positively correlated with the positive expression of STAT3 (P < 0.05). The expression of HIF-1α in ESCC patients was significantly related to the degree of differentiation and lymph node metastasis. The patients with HIF-1α negative had a higher cumulative survival rate than those with HIF-1α positive (P < 0.05), but the difference was not significant. STAT3 and HIF-1α were positively correlation with statistical significance (r = 0.362,P < 0.05). Conclusion STAT3 and HIF-1α are frequently expressed in ESCC. High expressions of STAT3 and HIF-1αmay contribute to the poor prognosis of human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

China Oncology 2010;20(1):17-21
Background and purpose: Unbalance of apoptosis regulation plays an important role in tumor initiation and progression. Survivin and caspase-3 all take part in the regulation of cell cycle and apoptosis. The expressions of survivin and caspase-3 were detected in the tissues of gastric cancer to explore their association with the carcinogenesis of gastric cancer. Methods: The expressions of survivin and caspase-3 in 79 cases of gastric cancer and 30 cases of adjacent were detected by using reverse-transcription PCR (RT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry. Results: The expressions of survivin mRNA and caspase-3 mRNA were significantly related with the depth of invasion, lymph-node metastasis and TNM stage (P<0.05). The expressions of survivin mRNA and caspase-3 mRNA had significantly differences in gastric cancer (P<0.01). Conclusion: Survivin and caspase-3 are both important factors that cause tumorigenesis of gastric cancer, while survivin may promote the progression of gastric cancer through inhibiting the expression of caspase-3.

Objective To investigate effects of Kanglaite injection on proliferation, cycle and apoptosis of human breast cancer MCF-7 cells; To discuss its relevant mechanism. Methods Logarithmic growth phase cells were divided into control group and Kanglaite-treatment group (10, 20, 40μL/mL). Cells were cultured in RPMI-1640 for 24 h before drug treatment. The inhibition rate of Kanglaite injection on proliferation of human breast cancer MCF-7 cells was detected by MTT assay. Apoptosis and cell cycle of MCF-7 cells were detected by flow cytometry. Changes in cell nucleus were determined by Hochest staining assay. Protein expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax were detected by ELISA and Western blot. Results Kanglaite injection for 12 h, 24 h or 48 h resulted in a significant inhibition of MCF-7 cells proliferation (P<0.05, P<0.01);Compared with the control group, Kanglaite injection-treated cells showed increased percentage in G2/M and G0/G1 phases (P<0.001, P<0.01), but showed decreased percentage in S phase (P<0.01), and apoptosis rate increased (P<0.05, P<0.001). Kanglaite injection significantly decreased protein expression of Bcl-2, and enhanced protein expression of Bax of MCF-7 cells (P<0.01, P<0.001). Conclusion Kanglaite injection can inhibit the proliferation of human breast cancer MCF-7 cells, decrease cell cycle and induce apoptosis, the mechanism is related with decreasing protein expression of Bcl-2 and enhance the protein expression of Bax.

International Eye Science 2014;(7):1331-1333
AlM: To analyze, summarize and describe ophthalmic imaging features of posterior scleritis.
METHODS: Clinical data of 16 patients ( 21 eyes ) with posterior scleritis diagnosed in our hospital from October 2008 to June 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. The results of type-B ultrasonic, fundus chromophotograph, fundus fluorescein angiography, CT were recorded for comprehensive evaluation and analysis of ophthalmic imaging features of posterior scleritis.
RESULTS: All patients underwent type-B ultrasonic examination and manifested as diffuse and nodular types. The diffuse type showed diffusely thickened sclera and a dark hypoechoic area that connected with the optic nerve to form a typical “T”-shaped sign. The nodular type showed scleral echogenic nodules and relatively regular internal structure. FFA showed that relatively weak mottled fluorescences were visible in the arterial early phase and strong multiple needle-like fluorescences were visible in the arteriovenous phase, which were then progressively larger and fused; fluorescein was leaked to the subretinal tissue in the late phase;varying degrees of strong fluorescences with less clear or unclear boundaries were visible in the optic disk. CT results showed thickened eyeball wall.
CONCLUSlON: Posterior scleritis is common in young female patients, whose ophthalmic imaging features are varied and more specific in type-B ultrasonic. Selection of rational ophthalmic imaging examination method, combined with clinical manifestations, can accurately diagnose posterior scleritis and avoid the incidence of missed and delayed diagnosis.
