Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) are the two important international conventions in the disarmament field ,aimed to eliminate chemical and biological weapons by prohibiting the development, production, acquisition, stockpiling and use of these weapons .Recently, research and development of sci-ence and technology continue to advance rapidly .A key feature is convergence of science disciplines .This has become a new force to speed up development of science and economy .In particular , the convergence of chemistry and biology , together with the rapid advances in life sciences , has been evident in its remarkable contribution to the developments of pharmaceutics, health care, green chemistry and environmental protection .On the other hand, the convergence of chemistry and biology also has significant implications for the implementation of CWC and BWC .In this article, we summarize the new trends in the convergence of chemistry and biology and its impact on the conventions .

Objective To construct the stably over-expressing hB7-H3 gene human pancreatic cancer cell line PANC1,and provide tools for further investigating the function of hB7-H3.Methods hB7-H3 gene fragment was inserted into lentiviral plasmid GV287 carrying GFP to construct recombinant hB7-H3-GV287 plasmid vector.293T cells were transfected,and the GFP expression was evaluated under fluorescence microscopy.Western Blot wasused to detect the expression of hB7-H3 protein.Lentiviral vectors were packaged and the titer was determined.The recombinant hB7-H3 expressed lentivirus was used to infect PANC1 cell.Flow cytometry was applied to detecte the percentage of GFP and hB7-H3 positive cells.Real-time PCR and Western Blot was used to verify the mRNA and protein expression of hB7-H3.Self-cyclizing GV287 plasmid served as negative control (NC).Results PCR amplified fragment of recombinant plasmid was around 1 368 bp,and no amplified production of NC plasmid was observed.The DNA sequencing of recombinant plasmid was completely consistent with the designed fragment,indicating that hB7 H3-GV287 plasmid was successfully constructed.293T cells transfected with recombinant plasmid expressed hB7-H3 protein,while those cells transfected with NC plasmid did not express hB7-H3 protein.The virus titer of lentiviral packaged recombinant hB7-H3 plasmid was 2 × 108 TU/ml.The percentage of hB7-H3 positive cells,hB7-H3 mRNA and protein expression in PANC1 cells infected with cells infected with hB7-H3 lentivirus was 94.3％,5.09 ± 0.24 and 2.85 ± 0.27,respectively,which was obviously higher than 18.5％,1.28 ± 0.53 and 0.44 ± 0.69 in cells infected with NC lentivirus,and the differences were statistically significant (P value ＜0.01).Conclusions A human pancreatic cancer cell line PANC1 stably over-expressing hB7-H3 was successfully constructed.

Objective To determine whether or not the bacterial DNA which was detected by PCR comes from viable bacteria.Methods Observe the effection of middle ear effusion(MEE) on DNA viscosity and enzymatic digestion of DNA.Results The middle ear effusion and DNA are stable and DNase 1 rapidly digests DNA,The effusion does not seem to degrade DNA.The middle ear effusion signifcantly inhibits DNase 1.Conclusions Middle ear effusion provides an inhibition of the enzymatic digestion of purified DNA.Thus any DNA found in effusion by PCR techniques could well be fossilized remains and chronic otitis media with effusion may not be the bacterial infection that recent studies have suggested.

For natural products are one of the important sources for drug discovery, libraries and databases of natural products are significant for the development and research of natural products. At present, most of compound libraries at abroad are synthetic or combinatorial synthetic molecules, resulting to access natural products difficult; for information of natural products are scattered with different standards, it is difficult to construct convenient, comprehensive and large-scale databases for natural products. This paper reviewed the status of current accessing libraries and databases for natural products at abroad and provided some important information for the development of libraries and database for natural products.

Recently, it is reported that regulatory T cells (Tregs) can be reprogrammed into a novel population [interleu?kin (IL)-17+Foxp3+T cells] phenotypically and functionally resembling Th17 cells under complicated cytokine circumstanc?es. IL-17+Foxp3+T cells are characterized by production of IL-17 and expression of retinoic acid receptor related orphan re?ceptor (ROR)γt, demonstrating dual functions in immune response and providing novel insight into the interconnection be?tween Tregs and Th17 cells. In this review, we lay emphasis on the phenotype features, origination, differentiation and the pleiotropic functions of IL-17+Foxp3+T cells. Furthermore, we summarized the functions of IL-17+Foxp3+T cells in inflam?matory disease and tumor microenvironment.

Objective To explore the clinical application of endometrial scratching in patients with repeated implantation failure(RIF).Methods A total of 189 women with RIF who planned to undergo in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF‐ET)once again at the Reproductive Medicine Center of Tongji Hospital ,Huazhong University of Science and Technology ,be‐tween October 2013 and August 2014 ,were prospectively examined.These women were infertile due to tubal factors ,with their male partners having normal semen measurements.According to the case numbers ,the 189 patients were randomly divided into experimental group(n=96)and control group(n=93).In the experimental group ,endometrial scratching was conducted within 6 h of one menstrual cycle one month before oocyte retrieval ,while in control group ,no endometrial scratching was performed at that time.The outcomes of pregnancy were compared between the two groups after embryo transplantation.Results There was no statistical difference between the two groups in the patient age ,infertility duration ,body mass index(BMI) ,basal levels of follicle‐stimulating hormone(FSH) ,luteinizing hormone(LH) ,and progesterone(P) ,gonadotropin‐releasing hormone(Gn‐RH) injection days and doses ,the number of retrieved oocytes ,the number of transferred embryos ,the endometrial thickness and lev‐els of estradiol(E2 )and P on the day of HCG injection(P>0.05).The embryo implantation rate ,the clinical pregnancy rate and the ongoing pregnancy rate in the experimental group were much higher than those in the control group ,with statistically signif‐icant difference noted(P<0.01).Conclusion The endometrial scratching can improve the endometrial receptivity and enhance the clinical pregnancy rate of RIF patients.

Objective:To investigate the electromyography activities of the facial and neck muscles during mandibular movement in children with high-angle.Methods:A computer-integrated BioEMG Ⅱ diagnostic system was used to synchronously record the electromyography activities of temporal anterior(TA), masseter muscle(MM), sternocleidomastoid(SCM) and digastric anterior(DA) muscles during mandibular movement in 14 children with high-angle and 16 children with normal-angle.Results:Muscular activity of TA, DA and SCM in children with high-angle was significantly weaker than that in those with normal-angle in the rest position(P

Objective To study the expression and distribution of CB2 in rat skin tissue. Method Immunohistochemistrial technics were employed to study the expression and distribution of CB2 in rat skin tissue. Results CB 2 receptors mostly presented in suprabasal layers of the epidermis and hair follicles in dermis by CB2 like immunoreactivity with a N terminal anti CB2 receptor antibody. The positive expression of CB2 appeared in rat spleen and a negative result occured in liver. Conclusion The CB2 receptors distributed mainly in the rats, epidermis and hair follicles, may involve in some of the dermic physiological and pathological process, such as the communication between central neural system and skin.

Objective:To study the feasibility of surgical techniques and clinical experience of the airbag-free separation of nail and the whole extraperitoneal laparoscopic hernia repair(TEP).Methods:Ninty-three cases of inguinal hernia.Patients were treatecl in our hospital from March 2005 to January 2009,with 39 cases of regular.Free air and non-stapling of mesh TEP and 54 cases of routine open tension-free hernioplasty.Results:The operation times were as follows:TEP Group,unilateral hernia(101.3?15.6 min),bilateral hernia(138.4?17.3 min);Open Group,unilateral hernia(81.6?7.6 min),bilateral hernia 175.8?22.0 min.The couplications in TEP Goup inclucled 3 cases of retroperitoheal rupture,3 cases of intra-operative vascular injury,and 2 cases of postoperative scrotal hematoma.Nine cases of sacrotal hematoma,4 cases of infective and 6 cases of long-term pain in the groin area happened in open Group.Conclusion:TEP of free balloon separator with no stapling patch is safe,reliable,less post-operative complications and especially suitable for bilateral hernia.

Objective To investigate the effect on apoptosis and extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK) expression of cholangiocarcinoma RBE cell line induced by paclitaxel and the role of extracellular signal regulated kinase in paclitaxel-induced apoptosis. Methods By techniques of cell culture in vitro, annexin-V-FITC and propidium iodide(PI)double staining and flow-cytometry (FCM), RBE cell line was treated by paclitaxel or together with MEK inhibitor PD98059 for 24 h. Using Western blot test the expression of ERK1, ERK2, pERK after RBE cell line was treated by paclitaxel or together with PD98059.
