1.Current research of the relationship between arsenic and eye disease
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2012;30(5):467-470
Traditionally, arsenic is thought to be a strong toxicant, especially arsenic trioxide (As2O3 ).As2O3 leads to the damage of ocular surface, such as cornea, conjunctiva etc.,and the evidence of its damage to retinal function also has been found. However, arsenic is a double-edged sword, because it possesses well- remedial effect on some eye diseases, including proliferative diabetic retinopathy, lens posterior capsular opaciffcation, keratopathy,meIanoma and bleb scarring. At present, there is still few research literature was seen about the active mechanism of arsenic agents on eye damage or therapeutic effect. Some relative studies are still in an experimental stage. This offers us the new research direction in clinical treatment of eye diseases. It is believed that arsenic will play an incalculable role on experiment and clinical treatment of eye diseases as further development and research of technology. The relationship between arsenic and eye disease is summed by consulting internal and external literature.
3.Effects of Zafirlukast on Emotions and Th1/Th2 Cytokines in Asthmatic Children
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(09):-
Objective To investigate the effects of Zafirlukast on emotions and Th1/Th2 cytokines in asthmatic children. Methods One hundred and eight asthmatic children were randomly allocated to 3 groups. The children in group A inhaled Pulmicort aerosol 200 ?g twice every day.On the basis of inhaled Pulmicort aerosol, the children in group B took orally Zafirlukast orally 10 mg once every day.The children in group C only took orally Zafirlukast 10 mg once every day.The course of treatment of all children were 4 weeks.Anxiety, depression status and the levels of IFN-? and IL-4 in blood serum were respectively detected before and after treatment. Results Scores of anxiety and depression after treatment in 3 groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(Pa0.05).Conclusions Zafirlukast or Glucocorticoid inhalation has the same effect on improving emotional status and accommodating disequilibrium of Th1/Th2 for asthmatic children, but effect of Zafirlukast combined with Glucocorticoid inhalation are better.

8.Isolation,Identification and Characterization of a Methanotrophic Strain
Microbiology 1992;0(06):-
Strain QJ16,one of some methanotrophic bacteria isolated from soil samples utilizing the separate device designed by our laboratory;was studied in detail and identified as one of the Genus methylomonas through 16S rDNA sequencing and comparison. The culturing and reaction conditions for methane utilization of this strain were investigated. The results indicated that the optimal conditions for the growth of strain QJ16 were methane gas as carbon source and the coexistence of NH4Cl and KNO3 as nitrogen source, the cultivation temperature of 30℃ and medium initial pH 6~7,and the optimal Cu2+ concentration of 15 ?mol/L.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 1994;0(06):-
Objective To improve the diagnostic level of uncommon hepatic malignancy in 5 cases with different histopathological nature by analyzing their CT features. Methods CT scan was performed in 5 cases with pathologically proved uncommon malignancy of the liver including hepatic sarcoma ( n =3) and primary carcinoid tumor ( n =2). Results These uncommon malignancies of the liver had a variety of presentations. Undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma presented as a single huge cyst mixing with solid mass. Hepatic angiosarcoma demonstrated as multiple well defined hypoattenuation lesions without cirrhosis. Necrosis, cystic degeneration, and hemorrhage may be accompanied. Malignant fibrous histiocytoma displayed as a single large hypoattenuation lesion within hyperdense septations, and most of the tumor was in the right lobe. Immunohistochemistry had the diagnostic value. The CT features of carcinoid tumor were single or multiple, unilocular or multilocular mixed dense masses. The solid portion of the masses enhanced obviously and carcinoid syndrome may highly suggest the diagnosis. Conclusion The forementioned 5 cases of hepatic malignancy are seldomly seen clinically. Each of them with different pathologic nature has different CT findings, and sometimes with some similar signs. Typical CT findings, coupled with clinical information may lead to a correct diagnosis.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 1998;0(12):-
Objective To explore the clinical features and outcomes of defo rm ities correction of old bucket handle and tilt fractures of pelvis. Methods From October 1998 to October 2002, six patients treated with open reduction, osteoto my and internal fixation for old bucket handle and tilt fractures of pelvis were analyzed. There were 3 males and 3 females aging from 18 to 51 years (mean, 27. 5 years). According to Tile’s classification, all fractures were diagnosed as t ype B2 with longitudinal stability and rotational instability, which were caused by traumatic violence of lateral compression, and associated with anterior ring injuries of ipsilateral inferior and superior rami of pubis combined symphysis separation as well as contralateral posterior ring injury of innominate fracture , dislocation of sacraoiliac joint, or sacral fracture. The incidence of associa ted injury was 100% in the patients as injured. The mean interval from the prima ry injury to the operation was an average of 6.5 months ranging from 2 to 15 mon ths. The limb shortening of buckle handle side of pelvis ranged from 2 to 3.5 cm (mean, 2.5 cm), and the rotational deformity of pelvis was more than 30? in al l patients. The tilting proximal fragment of the superior ramus and disrupted sy mphysis projected inferiorly and posteriorly into the perineum. The surgical pro cedures consisted of: 1) osteotomy through the superior pubic ramus malunion in 6 cases to correct anterior ring deformity, and through innominate osteotomy in 3 cases, direct osteotomy of sacral malunion in 1 case , and sacraoiliac fusion in 2 cases to correct the posterior ring deformity; 2) reduction by manipulati on or assisted with instrumentation; 3) fixation with reconstruction plate in 3 , reconstruction plate combined with anterior pelvic frame in 2, and reconstruct ion plate combined with lag screws in 1. Results All the patients were followed up on an average of 15.6 months (range, 3 to 45 months). The limb discrepancy ha d been completely corrected following satisfactory fracture reduction and union. According to Mears’s evaluation, the anatomical reduction of the pelvis was fo und in 5 cases and satisfactory in 1 patient. According to Majeed’s radiography evaluation, 5 patients were classified as excellent, and 1 good. One patient wi th delayed sacral nerve injury recovered without any treatment after operation. Conclusion The combination of osteotomy through anterior and posterior pelvic ri ng to correct the entire deformities in one stage is an useful technique for imp rovement of the affected limb shortening and prevention of the related complicat ions.
