Objective To observe the level changes of serum interleukin-18(IL-18) and tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?) in alcohol liver disease of rats.Methods The dose of 56% alcohol [5～9 g/(kg?d)] was administeredvia gastrolavage once daily for 12 weeks in ALD model rats.The control rats were grven the same volume of saline.The rats were killed at the end of 4,8,12W.The pathological changes of liver were observed under light microscope after HE staining,and the levels of IL-18 and TNF-? in serum was determined with ELISA.Results The tissues of model rats showed various changes of chronic alcohol liver disease at the end of 4,8,12W,such as: fatty degeneration,inflammatory changes and fibrosis.The levels of ALT and AST in models were obviously higher than those of the controls(P

Objective To evaluate the influence of partial parenteral nutrition on serum osmotic pressure,blood glucose,(biochemistry),bilirubin metabolism,immune function,growth and development of premature infants.Methods Seventy premature infants were randomly divided into control group and study group.On the base of enteral feeding,study group were offered parenteral nutrition, while the control group were supplied 10% glucose, fluid and electrolytes. Simultaneously, relevant indices were measured in 2 groups.Results 1.There were no significant difference in serum osmotic pressure,blood glucose and biochemistry before and after parenteral nutrition. 2.There were no significant difference in emerging and lasting time of jaundice between 2 groups.3.Serum IgG,IgA,IgM,C_3,CD4 and CD4/CD8 in study group were significantly higher than those in control group. 4.In study group the time of hospitalization and birth-weight regain were significantly shorter than those in control group.Conclusions There is no significant influence on serum osmotic pressure,blood glucose, biochemistry and bilirubin metabolism during partial parenteral nutrition. Parenteral nutrition may help gain weight, shorten the time of hospitalization, and improve immunological function of neonates.

Objective To understand the proliferation of algae in Hanjiang River during low water period. Methods Identification and counting of algae was carried out in water samples collected from the locations with a depths of 0.5 m, 1.0 m and 1.5 m under the surface of water in the section of Zongguan water plant of Hanjiang River during low water period. Results The temperature of water of Hanjiang River was 19 ℃. The dominant algae was Bacillariophyta with a constetuent ratio of 72.38%, others were Chlorophyta (13.35%), Cryptophyta (9.68%), Cyanophyta (4.12%). The algal count was 1.8?10 4/L. Out countless diatom shells were found also. Conclusion The water pollution by algae of water of Hanjiang River during low water period should be paid more attention to, and its monitoring should be strengthened.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effects of intense pulse light (OPT) on the facial pore widening of different parts.MethodsThirty six women with widened pores were enrolled,and treated by OPT for 6 times.All the cases were taken photos before and after treatment.The pores of cheek,nasal ala and nasal tip were graded by using the photographic scale,and the improvement after treatment compared with that before.ResultsThe cheek,nasal ala and nasal tip pores evidently diminished (P＜0.01).The improvement rate of cheek pores was higher than that of nasal ala and nasal tip (P＜0.01),but that between the latter two was not different (P＞0.05)).ConclusionsThe cheek pore widening diminishes more significantly than nasal ala and nasal tip treated with OPT.

Objective To analyze Vitamin D nutritional status of children and their height growth relationship in Wanzhou dis-trict of Chongqing .Methods Electrochemiluminescence immunoassay method was used to detect serum 25 hydroxyvitamin D [25 (OH) D]concentrations in 2 727 Children from Wanzhou district of Chongqing ,analyzing the correlation of Vitamin D and children age ,gender ,height ,parental height and other factors .Results There was significant difference in serum level of 25(OH) D among different age groups(P<0 .01) ,there was significant difference between boys and girls among the same age groups of 5 months ,6 months ,4 years old ,5 years old .Children′s height consistented with the national average 4 -6 years ago in Wanzhou District ,but Since then ,gradually felled behind .After adjustment for age ,sex ,parental height ,measured seasonal and other factors ,serum 25 (OH) D concentration was positively correlated with height (r=0 .462 5 ,P<0 .01) .Conclusion 25(OH)D levels were closely re-lated with the development of children′s height .Thus ,children generally poor 25(OH)D nutritional status in Wanzhou district should arouse the attention of parents and clinicians .

Objective To establish an experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) model in Wistar rats with myelin basic protein fragment (MBP69-85) and observe its pathological changes. Methods MBP69-85 dissolved in normal saline was mixed with complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA) (including 6 mg bacille Calmette Guerin) to prepare the encephalitogenic emulsion. Ten out of 70 Wistar rats were chosen as a control group, the others were divided equally into group A,B,C according to the difference of the encephalitogenic emulsion. Rats in group A were immunized with 50 μg MBP69-85 +CFA (including 6 mg BCG). Rats in group B were immunized with 25 μg MBP69-85+CFA (including 6 mg BCG). Rats in group C were immunized with 25 μg MBP69-85+CFA (including 12 mg BCG). The pathological changes of brain and spinal cord tissues were examined by light microscopy after HE staining and immunohistochemistry of MBP and NF. Results Some of the Wistar rats immunized with 50 μg MBP69-85 showed disorder at 12～16 days after immunization. The clinical symptoms included tail acratia or paralysis of tail and limbs, head tilt, etc. and the mean score was 2.38±1.89. There were infiltration of inflammatory cells inside nervous tissue and perivascular cuffings in HE stained sections. The immunohistochemistry of MBP and NF showed demyelination in the white matter and axon injury. Conclusion To some extent, the establishment of EAE depends on the dose of the immunizing antigen. The BCG in CFA was not the major cause of morbility of the rats. The EAE model induced with MBP69-85 in Wistar rats, showing typical clinical symptoms and pathological changes of multiple sclerosis, is a reliable animal model for the study of pathogenesis and treatment of multiple sclerosis.

Objective To investigate ultrasonographic features of primary and metastatic ovarian yolk sac tumors.Methods Ultrasonographic features of 19 primary lesions and 33 metastatic lesions in 35 patients were retrospectively analyzed.Results Primary tumors were sized (14.6±3.6)cm in maximum diameter,manifesting as cysti-solid masses.Solid components of primary tumors were mainly hypoechoic or isoechoic(16/19)with rich blood supplies.Thirty-three metastatic lesions were located in pelvoceliac cavity(26/33) and liver parenchyma(7/33),sized (9.4±4.5)cm,(9.2±4.9)cm and (5.6±1.6)cm in maximum diameter respectively.Metastatic lesions in pelvoceliac lesions mainly demonstrated as hypoechoic masses(21/26), however lesions in the liver were mainly hyperechoic(5/7).Anechoic regions could be found in 9/26 of the pelvoceliac lesions.Blood supply was found less rich in metastatic masses than that in primary ones.Elevated serum level of alpha fetoprotein (AFP) was observed in all patients; ranging from 217 to 211 682 μg/L.Conclusions Primary and metastatic lesions of ovarian yolk sac tumor have obvious ultrasonographic characteristics.Combined with serum AFP level,the accuracy of diagnosis could be improved.

Objective To explore the clinical therapeutic efficacy and value of endovascular embolization treatment for Hunt-Hess poor-grade intracranial aneurysms. Methods Eighty-seven patients with Hunt-Hess grade Ⅳ - Ⅴ intracranial aneurysrns were treated with endovascular embolization from May 2001 to February 2010,77 patients were grade Ⅳ and 10 patients were grade Ⅴ. Outcomes were assessed by using the Glasgow outcome scale (GOS). Results Follow-up time was from 3 months to 9 years. The therapeutic efficacy was as following according to GOS: 25 patients were grade Ⅰ , 5 patients were grade Ⅱ , 9 patients were grade Ⅲ , 12 patients were grade Ⅳ ,and 36 patients were grade Ⅴ. There were 55.17%(48/87) favorable outcome rate and 28.74% (25/87) mortality rate in all patients. There were 61.70%(29/47) favorable outcome rate and 25.53%(12/47) mortality rate in early stage treatment patients (diseased within 3 d), otherwise there were 47.50% (19/40) favorable outcome rate and 32.50%(13/40) mortality rate in medium and late stage treatment patients (diseased 3 d or later). There were no statistically significance in favorable outcome rate and mortality rate between them (P > 0.05). All the patients were embolized successfully ,technical complications occurred in 8 patients, 10 patients were found angiographic evidence of vasospasm. Conclusions Endovascular embolization is an effective method for treating Hunt-Hess poorgrade intracranial aneurysms. Early stage treatment is a feasible option because it can improve prognosis by reducing rebleeding and vasospasm.

Limb rehabilitation is one of the key issues for improving the quality of life in patients with stroke. Studies have demonstrated that the retention and recovery of active movement of hemiplegic limb have predictive value for the prognosis in acute stroke. The responsible lesion sites and rehabilitation training in the acute phase may be an important factor in influencing the recovery of active movement ability of hemiplegie upper limb. However, there is still lack of a large, multi-center study, and further related studies are needed.
