To discuss the value of the diagnosis and treatment for the submucous myomas by hysteroscope. According to the data of hysteroscopic resection in the treatment of submucous fibroids, the authors suggested that the submucous myomas should be divided into four types and the detailed appearance of each type were discussed. Conclusions: Four types of the submucous myomas were distinguished and the surgical treatment of each type were chosen correspondingly under hysteroscope.

Objective To measure the length and diameter of the main bronchus using three-dimensional reconstruction from spi-ral chest computerized tomography scans in Chinese patients,and to evaluate the relationship between the BMI of patients and the length and diameter of main bronchi in order to provide the basis for pre-operative tracheal intubation.Methods 100 males and 100 females,who were scheduled to undergo a chest CT scan for physical examination,the diameter at the carina of the left and right main bronchus were measured.The length of the main bronchi extending from the carina to the line that is vertical to the bronchial wall at the starting point from the branches of the upper lobe was measured at the workstation.Results the length of the men’s right and left main bronchus was (1 9.7±5.2)mm and (50.3 ±4.7)mm.the length of the women’s right and left main bronchus was (18.2±4.1)mm and (46.3±4.5)mm,The length of the left main bronchus(LMB)was about 3-4 times greater than right main bronchus(RMB).the cross-section of the men’s left and right main bronchus was (175.3±29.6)mm2 and (209.4±32.7)mm2 ,the cross-section of the women’s left and right main bronchus was (120.5±24.8)mm2 and (144.4±33.7)mm2 .There was no signifi-cant relationship between the length and diameter of main bronchi and the BMI of patients.Conclusion The results showed that there was no direct relationship between the diameter and the length of main bronchi and the BMI of patients.BMI is not the criteri-on for choosing double-lumen tube (DLT)size.We proposed that three-dimensional reconstruction be used to measure the size of the main bronchi and determine the optimal size of the DLT in a clinical setting.

Methods Leaves in vitro were tried as the explants and cultivated in different media with the various portion of hormones. Results The medium of MS+BA 1.0 mg/L+KT 0.5 mg/L+NAA 0.2 mg/L was the most suitable one for the induction of shoots; the medium of MS+BA 1.5 mg/L+NAA 0.1 mg/L was beneficial to the propagation of shoots; the medium of MS+BA 0.5 mg/L+NAA 0.1 mg/L was good for the elongation of shoots; and the medium of 1/2 MS without any hormone was suitable for the induction of roots. Conclusion Rapid propagation of A. carmichaeli could be achieved by tissue culture and this will lead to the possibility for its seedling in the industrial production.

Objective To observe the change of serum ischemia modified albumin (IMA) in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) patients.Methods Seventy-four end stage renal disease patients undergoing CAPD more than 3 months (CAPD group) were divided into 2 groups according to clinical symptoms of cardiovascular diseases:CAPD symptoms group (29 cases) and CAPD asymptomatic group (45 cases).Seventy healthy subjects were selected as control group.The serum IMA level and abnormal rate of electrocardiogram and heart color ultrasonic were examined and compared.Results The serum IMA level in CAPD group was significantly higher than that in control group [(92.33 ± 17.17) kU/L vs.(69.63 ± 9.24)kU/L,P＜ 0.01].The serum IMA level in CAPD symptoms group was significantly higher than that in CAPD asymptomatic group [(109.37 ± 21.34) kU/L vs.(85.31 ± 8.58) kU/L,P ＜ 0.05].The elevatory rate of serum IMA level and abnormal rate of electrocardiogram and heart color ultrasonic in CAPD symptoms group were significantly higher than those in C APD asymptomatic group [37.9％ (11/29) vs.15.6％(7/45),62.1％ (18/29) vs.22.2％ (10/45),P ＜0.05].Conclusions The serum IMA level in CAPD patients is elevatory.Serum IMA level is significantly higher in CAPD patients with cardiovascular disease clinical symptoms,it can be used for diagnosis of myocardial damage in CAPD patients.

ObjectiveTo investigate the inhibitory effect of dacarbazine and an oncolytic adenovirus carrying interleukin-24 (IL-24) on transplanted melanoma in nude mice.MethodsNude mice were inoculated with human A375 melanoma cells to establish a model of malignant melanoma.Then,the mice were divided into 4 groups to be treated with an oncolytic adenovirus carrying interleukin-24 (ZD55-IL-24),dacarbazine,the combination of ZD55-IL-24 and dacarbazine,and phosphate buffer(PBS),respectively,for 3 days.Seven days after the end of the treatment,some mice were sacrificed followed by the determination of IL-24 and E1A protein levels in tumor tissue by Western blot.The tumor volume was measured on a daily basis for 30 days.ResultsIL-24 and E1A were highly expressed in melanoma cell-bearing nude mice treated with ZD55-IL-24 and dacarbazine.At 30 days after the inoculation,the average volume of transplanted melanoma was (2346.5 ± 576.0) mm3 in the combination group,significantly different from that in the ZD55-IL-24 group((4141.6 ± 1348.2) mm3,P ＜ 0.05),dacarbazine group((5230.1 ± 922.8) mm3,P ＜ 0.05),and the control group ((7135.1 ± 1002.3) mm3,P ＜ 0.05).ConclusionThe ZD55-IL-24 in combination with dacarbazine exhibits a remarkably inhibitory effect on the proliferation of melanoma transplanted into nude mice.

Objective To study the differential expression of cell adhesion molecule(CAM) genes in the pathegenesis of AAA. Methods Microarray technique was applied to screen for the differential expression of CAM genes between AAA and normal aortic tissues. Results Three differentially expressed CAM genes were found in AAAs by microarray technique and molecular biology investigation, including VCAM 1, PECAM 1, TSP,with up regulating ratio of 5 683,3 601,57 406,respectively.Conclusion These abnormally up regulated CAM genes found in AAA might participate in the development of abdominal aortic aneurysms.

Objective To investigate the effect of estrogen receptor ?(ER-?)on the formation of mice endometriosis.Methods Endometriosis animal model was established with 30 ER-? knockout(?ERKO)mice and 22 ER-? non-knockout(?ER)mice.All the mice were divided into three groups:intact group(?ERKO 10 and ?ER 8),ovariectomy group(?ERKO 10 and ?ER 7)and ovariectomy + estradiol treatment group(?ERKO 10 and ?ER 7).The endometriotic grafts were taken out from all the mice 2 weeks after operation,and the weight,histological structure and the expression of MMP-9 in the grafts were analyzed and compared between ?ERKO and ?ER mice.Results The endometriotic grafts were significantly heavier 2 weeks after transplantation than that before transplantation in intact group(P0.05).In addition,no significant differences were found between the ?ERKO and the ?ER mice in endometriotic grafts' weight,the histopathologic structure and the expression of MMP-9.Conclusion ER-? may throw few influence on the formation of endometriosis.
