Cancer Research and Clinic 2006;0(12):-
TPX2(targeting protein for Xklp2)is a microtubule-associated protein in a new family of vertebrate spindle pole components.TPX2 is diffusely distributed all over the nucleus during the cell cycle phases S and G_2 and play important roles in mitotic spindle formation.TPX2 over expression was found in a variety of malignant tumors, that are asssociated with the centrosome amplification, aneuploidy, cell transfor- mation and the biological behavior of tumor.Blocking the expression of TPX2 can inhibit the growth of tumor cells.TPX2 may serve as a new candidate target for tumor therapy. The study progress of its structure and function, expression levels in cell cycle, molecular mechanism etc.was reviewed.

Objective To study the relationship between the level of fluoride in urine and the prevalence of dental caries in children before and after the defluoridation, and to provide a basis for assessment of the effects of defluoridation projects and for control of dental caries. Methods Wamiao Village, in Jiangsu Province, a formerly severe endemic fluorosis area, was selected to carry out the study. All children aged 8-13 years old before the defuoridation were investigated from September to November in 2002, and children 8-10 years old who were born after the defluoridation were investigated from September to November in 2013.Urinary fluoride level of the children and the prevalence of dental caries were determined, and their relationships were analyzed. The urina sanguinis samples of children were collected in the morning, and the urine fluoride level was tested using the fluoride ion selective electrode.Dental caries diagnoses was referenced to Dental Caries. Results Totally children's urine samples were 236 and 68 respectively before and after defluoridation.Urinary fluoride level of the children was significantly decreased from (3.53 ± 1.81)mg/L (before defluoridation) to (1.39 ± 0.66)mg/L (after defluoridation, t =9.506, P < 0.01);the prevalence of dental caries was increased from 52.73% (29/55, before defluoridation) to 63.24% (43/68, after defluoridation), however, the difference was not significant (x2 =1.383, P > 0.05).The DMFT increased from 1.18 (before defluoridation) to 1.68 (after defluoridation), and the epidemic levels of dental caries were all at lower levels. The relationship between urine fluoride level and the prevalence of dental caries as well as the DMFT before defluoridation was a U-shape dose-response curve;which was gone after defluoridation. Conclusions The urinary fluoride level is significantly decreased after defluoridation for 10 years, the prevalence of dental caries is increased but not significantly. The results of this study indicate that the measure of fluoridation to prevent dental caries needs to be further validated.

Objective To investigate the percentage of Th17 cells and regulatory T cells in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG) and observe the effects of methylprednisolone infusion on these cells. Methods The circulating Th17 cells and CD4+ CD25highT cells of 66 MG patients and 35 healthy controls were detected using four colour cytometry. The relationship between these cells and MGFA score in 18 MG patients and in 8 MG patients after methylprednisolone was infusion were also analyzed in this study. Results There was significant difference in the percentage of circulating Th17 cells between MG patients (2. 61% ±0. 28% ) and the healthy controls (0. 94% ± 0. 12%, Z = 4. 059, P = 0. 0001 ). Methylprednisolone therapy significantly reduced the percentage of circulating Th17 cells from 4. 72% ± 1.21% to 1.81% ± 0. 69%(Z = 1. 995,P = 0. 0460). In addition, the percentage of Th17 cells showed a positive correlation with MGFA score(r =0. 5359, P =0. 0219). Conclusions Circulating Th17 cells are elevated in MG patients.Methylprednisolone therapy can reduce such elevation, and this may be important in mediating symptomatic improvement in MG patients.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Gypsum Fibrosum and Gypsum Fibrosum Preparatum in promoting granulation. METHODS: The wounds of muscle layer were produced in rats by using surgical operation. Two round wounds, with diameter about 1.5 cm, were cut at the depilatory area of two sides of the back of each rat, with an interval of 2 cm, deep to muscle layer, and the thickness of the knife wound of muscle layer was about 0.15 cm. Forty SD rats with the wounds were randomly divided into 4 groups: untreated group, beifuji-treated group, Gypsum Fibrosum-treated group and Gypsum Fibrosum Preparatum-treated group, with 10 rats in each group. Then the wounds were sprinkled with powders of Gypsum Fibrosum and Gypsum Fibrosum Preparatum, or sprayed with beifuji solution, respectively. The healing state of granulation tissues of the wounds was observed at the eighth and fourteenth day respectively. RESULTS: The number of fibroblasts, the number of capillary tubes and the area of capillary tubes in granulation tissue of wounds in the Gypsum Fibrosum Preparatum-treated group were significantly higher than those in the untreated group and Gypsum Fibrosum-treated group (P<0.01). There were no statistical differences between the Gypsum Fibrosum Preparatum-treated group and the beifuji-treated group. However, Gypsum Fibrosum-treated group showed no obvious differences compared to the untreated group (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Gypsum Fibrosum Preparatum can accelerate the formation of collagenoblast and micrangium in wounds, and the proliferation of granulation tissues, thus promoting the skin wounds to healing. The effect of Gypsum Fibrosum is changed after being calcined, and Gypsum Fibrosum Preparatum has obvious effect in promoting granulation.

Objective To demonstrate the manifestations on positron emission tomographycomputed tomography (PET-CT) at different stages in anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis. Methods PET-CT was performed in 10 patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis at different clinical stages, and the images were analyzed to investigate the relation of metabolic patterns in the images with clinical presentations. Results Except for normal PET-CT images in 2 patients, images in 8 patients at early stage of the disease showed generally increased 2-[18F] fluoro-2-Deoxy-D-glucose(18F-FDG) uptake at frontal and temporal lobe, basal ganglion and cerebellum, indicating hyper-metabolism in these areas, while 2 of them also had mixture of hyper-and hypo-metabolism in parietal-occipital region. In longitudinal analysis of PET-CT images in these 8 cases, starting at basal ganglion,18 F-FDG uptake gradually decreased bilaterally, prominently at left dominant hemisphere and right cerebellum. Conclusions During the course of anti-NMDAR encephalitis,18F-FDG metabolism markedly increases at early stage and then gradually declines at late stage,at frontal, temporal, parietal and occipital lobes, basal ganglion and cerebellum, predominantly at left dominant hemisphere and right cerebellum. However,in relapsing anti-NMDAR encephalitis,18 F-FDG metabolism in brain does not show these characteristics.
