1.Inhibition effects of asiaticoside on controlling capsule formation around breast implant in rats
Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(09):-
Objective To investigate the potential role of asiaticoside in controlling the capsular formation around breast implant in rats. Methods Forty female Sprague-Dawley rats were implanted with 2 silicone elastomer in bilateral dorsal interscapular region subcutaneously each, and randomly assigned to 2 groups (n=20 in each group): control group and experimental group. The experimental group was of intragastric administration with asiaticoside (24 mg/kg) daily while control group with saline of identical volume. On day 7, 14, 28, 56 and 84, 4 rats from each group were sacrificed. Specimens were collected for HE staining. Image-pro Plus was applied to measure the thickness of capsule at different time intervals and the dynamic alteration in histology was observed. Results In experimental group, the formation of capsule ended up with a thickness of (194.33?23.27)?m, dramatically thinner than that of control group (306.08?31.31)?m (P

Objective To explore the signal mechanism of proliferation stimulating effect of connec-tive tissue growth factor (CTGF) on hypertrophic scar (HS) derived fibroblasts. Methods <'3>H-TdR in-corporation technique was used to determine the proliferative effect of CTGF at different concentration. Western blot was applied to semi-quantitively analyze the expression of phosphorylated and total ERK1/2 protein after 0, 5, 10, 15, 30, and 60 min of CTGF stimulation, and the relative value of which was de-fined as AI to measure the activation of ERK1/2 signal pathway. PD98059 was admitted to specifically block the ERK1/2 pathway, and subsequently cell proliferation stimulated by CTGF was studied by MTT. Results CTGF could stimulate fibroblasts proliferation with a dose-dependant manner, and activa-ted the ERK1/2 signal pathway, and AI built up to 0.209±0.0201, reaching the apex at 15 min after stimulation performed. Inhibition of ERK1/2 activation by PD98059 suppressed CTGF-mediated HS fi-broblasts proliferation significantly, while OD significantly dropped. Conclusion CTGF induces a prolif-erative response in HS fibroblasts, and this action is mainly dependent on the activation of ERK1/2 signal pathway.

Ophthalmology in China 1993;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the progression of idiopathic epiretinal macular membrane(IEMM) and compare the correlation factors of contrast sensitivity function (CSF) such as visual acuity(VA) and central macular thickness. Design Prospective, case-controlled study. Participants 80 normal people (80 eyes) were divided into three groups: old-aged group (60-80 years old, of 26 eyes), middle-aged group (40-59 years old, of 30 eyes) and young-aged group (

AIM: To summarize clinical characteristics and pathogenesis of iridocorneal endothelial syndrome ( ICE ) and investigate the treatment and prognosis.
METHODS:The clinical data of 12 cases (12 eyes) who received treatment in southwest hospital during Jun. 2007 to Feb. 2015 were analyzed retrospectively. The essential progressive atrophy of iris included 7 eyes, Chandler syndrome included 3 eyes, Congan - Reese syndrome included 2 eyes.
RESULTS: A total of 8 eyes were carried out once or multiple filtration surgery; 4 eyes were treated with glaucoma valve implantation. Postoperative follow- up time ranged from 15mo to 5y with the average of 30mo. Three months to 16mo after the surgery, the intraocular pressure of 4 patients were elevated again. Postoperative intraocular pressure was poorly controlled.
CONCLUSION:ICE syndrome is a group of clinically rare and serious eye disease. The excessive proliferation of ICE cells causes the existence of the corneal endothelial cells adhesion to the chamber angle and iris surface, which cause iris atrophy, secondary glaucoma, corneal endothelial decompensation. Currently, glaucoma filtration surgery and glaucoma valve implantation can only control intraocular pressure for several months, but the long-term prognosis is poor.

The appliance of bilingual teaching of Medical Immunology offers an effective means of mastery and communication of the medical essential subject. This study has tried the bilingual teaching of medical immunology for clinical, dentistry and phylaxiology specialty students, discussed the model of bilingual teaching, investigated the teaching effect, analyzed and summarized the teaching experience. After the practice of bilingual teaching,we found that the feasible method of bilingual teaching to apply Chinese as the primary language and pervade English into the medical immunology course.

OBJECTIVE To promote the direction, administration and surveillance of nosocomial infection control in general hospital, and to prevent the onset of nosocomial infection and reduce its rate.METHODS Retrospective study was taken based on the data of 95193 cases from Jan 2003 to Jan 2007.RESULTS Nosocomial infection happened in 5024 patients and in 5545 cases-times out of 95193 cases, and the rate was 5.28% and 5.83%,respectively.Infection rate(8.49%)in internal medicine were the highest. The main infection site was lower and upper respiratory tract(the constituent ratio 30.66% and 23.20% respectively).CONCLUSIONS Diminishing or avoiding invasive process, using antibacterial drug rationally, promoting the surveillance of the key department and key patients are very important to control nosocomial infection.

Objective To investigate the short and long term effects of Sunmax injection for the rhytidoplasty on different parts of the fa-cial wrinkles. Methods 1 028 face lift patients were collected from January 2007 to December 2011 who admitted to our plastic surgery de-partment,236 cases of male,792 cases of female, with an average age of 48. 7 (21~72)years old. According to different drug injection sites, all the patients were divided into 5 groups:wrinkles between eyebrows, the forehead wrinkles, nasolabial fold wrinkles, crow's feet, nose wrin-kles. The rhytidoplasty effects of 5 groups a day,1 month,3 months,6 months,9 months after injection were observed and compared. Further-more,the short and long term effects of the Sunmax injections were integrated to analyze. Results After Sunmax injection,a variety of skin wrinkles and sags disappeared;1 month after injection, wrinkles did not appear;3~6 months after injection, the effects was still as the same as the day after injection. 9 months after injection, the effects for the forehead wrinkles and crow's feet was slightly diminished. Conclusion Sunmax injection is an emerging technology to remove facial wrinkles, which has been widelymused inmour department for severalmyears and got patients' postoperative satisfaction. It is worth spreading for rhytidoplasty.
