Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(01):-
Both aspirin and angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE)inhi bi tors are often used concomitantly in patients with cardiovascular disease. The s afety of the combination has been questioned. The potential antagonistic interac tions between ACE inhibitors and aspirin has become the focus of both increasing research and intense debate, with conflicting conclusions havin g been reported in the literature. We reviewed systematically available literatu re on the interactions between ACE inhibitors and aspirin in hyper- tension, acute myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure and found that further trials are needed to shed light on the effects and mechanism of interaction between these drugs.
2.OBSERVATION ON THE LEVELS OF BLOOD FREE RADICALS, SERUM LIPID PEROXIDE AND VITAMIN E IN NIDDM
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1986;0(04):-
Concentration of blood free-radicals in 19 normal subjects and 35 patients with NIDDM was estimated by electron spin resonance spectrometer. Serum lipid peroxide (Lpo) and vitamin E were measured with biochemical methods. As compared with controls, patients with NIDDM had significantly higher blood free-radical level and serum Lpo level. The results suggested that the metabolism of free-radicals was disturbed in NIDDM.

Objective:To observe the effect and influence of homocysteine and cystatin C in type 2 diabetes patients treated by Shuxuening injection combined with gliclazide. Methods: Type 2 diabetic patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group, and there were 30 cases in each group. The control group was given gliclazide hypoglycemic treatment, on the basis of the observation group to combined with Shuxuening injection. The course of treatment was 2 weeks. Efficacy , adverse drug reactions ,Ho-mocysteine ( Hcy) , Cystatin C ( CysC) and blood glucose ( FBG, PB) level change of two groups patients before and after treatment were compared. Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 96. 67%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0. 05). After treatment, blood glucose and Hcy, CysC levels of the two groups of patients were significantly de-creased compared with before treatment (P<0. 05),and those of the observation group was much lower(P<0. 05). The incidence of adverse drug reactions between the two groups had no significant difference(P>0. 05). Conclusion:Shuxuening Injection on patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus has good curative effect, it can effectively reduce homocysteine and cystatin C levels, better control of blood glucose.

BACKGROUND: Studies have shown that OCT4, SOX2 and HIWI can express in tumor tissues. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationship between the expression of stem cell transcription factors SOX2 and OCT4 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and their clinical characteristics and prognosis. METHODS: Expression levels of SOX2 and Oct4 were detected using immunohistochemical SP method in 77 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and 40 cases of adjacent cancer tissues confirmed by pathological examination, and then the their relationship with prognosis and clinical characteristics of the patients was analyzed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Significantly higher levels of SOX2 and Oct4 were found in the esophageal cancer tissues than the adjacent cancer tissues (P < 0.05). SOX2 and Oct4 were highly expressed in the esophageal cancer tissues isolated from poorly differentiated, lymph node metastasis patients (P < 0.05). During the 2-year follow-up, the median survival of patients positive for SOX2 and Oct4 was only 24 and 21 months, respectively, which was significantly lower than that of negative patients (30 and 33 months, respectively). These findings indicate that the highly expressed SOX2 and Oct4 in esophageal cancer tissues are associated with the differentiation, metastasis and prognosis of the patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

Transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) is a non-selective positive ion channel that is mainly expressed in sensory neurons and a member of transient receptor potential (TRP) family. The receptor could be activated by mechanical irritation, chemical irritation or endogenous ligand to mediate pains and cause injury to body functions. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the mechanism of pain is that "stagnation leads to pain". Specifically, both of the contracture and tautness caused by cold and the blood stasis could result in blood impassability and pain. Most of traditional Chinese medicines for clearing heat and removing toxicity have the anti-inflammatory effect, while those for warming interior, and promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis have the effect in smoothening blood vessels. Therefore, either with the anti-inflammatory effect or the effect in smoothening blood vessels, traditional Chinese medicines for clearing heat and removing toxicity, warming interior, and promoting blood circulation have the analgesic effect In this paper, the authors summarize the analgesic effect of the above three traditional Chinese medicines, with TRPV1 as the target.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2016;23(4):36-40
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety ofGuipi Decoction vs. antidepressants for depression. Methods Articles about the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) ofGuipi Decoction for depression were searched in the databases of CNKI, VIP, Wanfang Data, CMB, Embase, PubMed, and Cochrane Library. Two researchers independently screened the articles, extracted the data, and evaluated the methodological quality. Meta-analyses were performed by using RevMan 5.2 software. Results A total of 9 RCTs articles involving 893 cases were included. Meta-analysis results suggested that as compared with antidepressants only,Guipi Decoction together with antidepressants was associated with a significantly greater reduction in HAMD scores (MD=-4.63, 95%CI [-5.95, -3.32];P<0.001). There was no significant difference in HAMD scores betweenGuipi Decoction used alone and antidepressants (MD=-0.30, 95%CI [-4.22, 3.62];P=0.88). As compared with antidepressants,Guipi Decoction together with antidepressants increased in the rates of total effective events (RR=1.26, 95%CI [1.14, 1.38];P<0.001). No serious adverse reactions were reported. Meta-analysis results suggested that the incidence of adverse reactions of Guipi Decoction(RR=0.48, 95%CI [0.40, 0.58];P<0.001) andGuipi Decoction together with antidepressants (RR=0.51, 95%CI [0.30, 0.85];P=0.010) were lower than that of antidepressants alone. Conclusion The present evidence suggests thatGuipi Decoction is effective and relatively safe for patients with depression. However, because the quality of included research was low, more large-scale RCTs with multicenter and high quality are needed for further verification.

The effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia were systematically reviewed. The randomized controlled trials (RCTs) regarding acupuncture for supraventricular tachycardia were searched in domestic and overseas databases, and the evaluation tool of bias risk in Cochrane Handbook 5.1.0 software was used to perform the evaluation of bias risk in literature, and RevMan 5.2 software was applied for statistics and Meta-analysis. Five RCTs involving 323 patients were included. The results showed that compared with the blank control group, the acupuncture reduced the heart rate by 18.8 times/min [95% CI (12.68, 24.92)]; the clinical effective rate in the acupuncture group was superior to that in the diltiazem group [OR= 3.11, 95% CI (1.50, 6.46)]; the difference of immediate effect between propafenone and acupuncture was not significant. No reports regarding adverse events was described in 5 RCTs. As was shown in the present evidence, acupuncture is safe and effective for the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia, but the level of evidence was low and the intensity of conclusion needed to be improved.

Objective To explore the dynamic changes of serum HMGB1, CEA and SCC as well as the value in the evaluation of prognosis of patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma resection. Methods The dynamic changes in serum levels of HMGB1, CEA and SCC were measured respectively in 100 patients preopera-tively as well as a month after esophagectomy. The relationships between the changes of serum tumor markers and the clinical efficacy were analyzed. Results The 5-years survival rate of the CEA, SCC and HMGB1 negative peo-ple before operation was significantly higher than that of the positive patients (P < 0.05). The 5-years survival rate of those patients with all three markers negative before operation was significantly higher than that of those patients with the three markers positive (P < 0.01). The Median Survive Time of the patients with the levels of all three markers decreased after operation was longer than those with the levels of all the three markers increased (χ2 =6.584, P=0.01). The Median Survive Time of the patients with levels of the three markers decreased by more than 50%was longer than those with the levels decreased by less than 50% (χ2=5.418, P = 0.02). Conclusions The dynamic and combined detections of serum HMGB1, CEA, SCC in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcino-ma resection can effectively evaluate the therapeutic effect and prognosis.
