Objective:To study the asaphia in children with ankyloglossia and the effect of articulation therapy after anaplasty.Methods:Articulation analysis by testing 21 shengmu and 8 yunmu, particularly the articulation involving front tongue was carried out in 16 healthy children and in 32 children with ankyloglossia before and after treatment.Among the 32 children with ankyloglossia 16 were treated with articulation training 1 month after operation(trained group),another 16 had the articutation test 2 months after operation(untrained group).Results:The articulation clarity in the children with ankyloglossia and in the healthly controls was 29.36 and 97.86 respectively(P

Objective To observe the relationship between the levels of plasma VEGF,PAI-1 and the severity of the diabetic retinopathy in type 2 diabetic patients.Methods ELISA method was used to measure the levels of VEGF and PAI-1.Results The level of VEGF was increased in all diabetic patients compared with the normal control group[(17.86?12.25)ng/L],and that of the patients with BDR[(93.41?54.69)ng/L]was higher than that of the patients with NDR[(52.17?21.81)ng/L]and PDR[(61.24?37.55)ng/L].The level of PAI-1 was also increased in all diabetic patients.The increase tendency was more obvious in patients with BDR[(58.29?20.53)?g/L]and PDR[(66.84?23.81)?g/L].Conclusion The damage of the vascular endothelial cell and the impaired fibrinolysis state exist in diabetic retinopathy.So it is very important to measure the levels of VEGF and PAI-1 for the early diagnosis and intervention treatment of diabetic retinopathy.

Objective To observe the effects of Zhennao-Ning capsule on cerebral microcirculation.Methods Cerebral hypoperfusion model of mices was induced by right common carotid arteries ligation method,The cerebral blood flow for 5min was recorded under normal circumstances comand for 30min when modeled,and then calculate the rate of blood flow changes.Microcirculatory impairment model of rats was induced by intravenous injection of high molecular dextran(HMD).The time of the emergence of microcirculatory impairment was recorded.Vascular flow,blood flow pattern and the number of outlets in the same range were recorded.Results The blood flow was significant decrease in the cerebral hypoperfusion model mice,when compared with the control mice.Zhennao-Ning capsules at the dosage of 1500 mg/kg、750 mg/kg treatment could improve the cerebral blood flow of rats at 10,20,and 30 min after modeled (56％,51％,50％ and 42％,49％,51％,respectively,P＜0.01).Zhennao-Ning capsules at the dosage of 600 mg/kg,300 mg/kg could significantly reduce the change of blood flow pattern(P＜0.01),improve vascular flow rate (26％,36％,P＜0.05 or P＜0.01),extend the time of the emergence in the microcirculatory impairment model rat (53％,34％,P＜0.01).Conclusion Zhcnnao-Ning capsules could improve microcirculatory impairment and partly cure the clinical migraine disease.

Background Bietti crystalline dystrophy (BCD) is a congenital and autosomal recessive hereditary eye disease characterized by multiple glistening intraretinal crystals scattered over the fundus.Studies determined abnormality of fatty acid metabolism probably is associated with BCD.However,the study on the alteration of blood lipid level in BCD patients is rare.Objective This trail was to study the change of serum lipids in BCD patients.Methods A total of 50 patients with bilateral BCD and 50 matched healthy volunteers were included from November 2011 to March 2013 in Beijing Tongren Eye Center with the approval of Ethic Committee of Beijing Tongren Hospital.Written informed consent was obtained from each subject before any medial examination.Peripheral blood of 3 ml was collected from the subjects.The serum concentrations of triglyceride (TG),total cholesterol (TC),low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were measured and analyzed.The examination outcome was identified based on the criteria of China Adult Dyslipidemia Prevention Guideline (Version 2007).Results Abnormality of serum lipid content was detected in 58.00％ patients (29/50),and hypertriglyceridemia and hypercholesteremia were in 34.48％ (10/29),respectively,and mixed hyperlipidaemia was in 27.59 ％ (8/29).The serum levels of TG,TC and LDL-C were (1.63± 1.19) mmol/L,(5.10±1.05) mmol/L and (3.27±0.97) mmol/L in the BCD group,which were significantly higher than (0.93± 0.33) mmol/L,(4.33 ±0.56) mmol/L,(2.63 ±0.51) mmol/L of the normal group (t =4.036,4.496,4.095,all at P=0.000).Conclusions The serum lipid levels elevate in BCD patients,which might be related to the occurrence of BCD.

To investigate the induction of apoptosis of mouse colonic adenocarcinoma CT26 cells by recombinant Clostridium difficile toxin B (rTcdB), CT26 cells were exposed to different concentrations of rTcd B. Inhibition of cell proliferation was measured by MTT assay. The activation of Caspase 3 was measured by colorimetric method. Cell morphological analysis and flow cytometry were performed to confirm cell apoptosis. rTcd B inhibited the proliferation of CT26 cells in a timeand dose-dependent manner. Caspase 3 activity in CT26 cells was elevated remarkably after rTcd B exposure for 6 h, 12 h, 18 h or 24 h, as compared with the control group. Morphological changes were observed by fluorescence microscopy. The exposure of rTcd B to CT26 cells induced a timeand dose-dependent apoptotic cell death as determined by flow cytometry analysis. The results showed that recombinant Clostridium difficile toxin B induced apoptosis of CT26 cells.

Background T helper cell 17 (Th17),a newly discovered subset of CD4+ T cells,have been found to play an important role in dry eye disease in animal model.Further investigation should be done on the immunopathogenesis of Th17 cells in dry eye patients.Objective This study was to analyze the expression status of interleukin-17 (IL-17) and IL-22 in tear and supernatant of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of dry eye patients and their correlation with clinical symptom and sign.Methods Twenty Sj(o)gren syndrome (SS)patients,twenty non-Sj(o)gren syndrome (NSS) patients were included in Wuxi Second Hospital from 2010 to 2011,and twenty healthy volunteers were recruited at the same period.All of subjects understood the purpose and procedure of research and written informed consent was obtained form each subject initial of this study.Dry eye symptom questionnairs were self-answered and multiple dry eye disease-related clinical tests,including the breakup time of tear film (BUT),Schirmer Ⅰ test (S Ⅰ t) and corneal fluorescein staining were performed.The periphery blood of 3 ml and tear were collected in all the subjects,and IL-17 and IL-22 levels in supernatant of PBMCs and tear were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).The correlations between levels of IL-17 and IL-22 with BUT,S Ⅰ t,corneal fluorescein staining and dry eye scores were analyzed.Results The dry eye scores reduced,BUT prolonged,S Ⅰ t increased and corneal fluorescein dye decreased from SS group,NSS group to normal control group,with significant differences among the three groups (dry eye scores:H =40.81,P＜0.01 ; BUT:H =40.15,P＜0.01 ;S Ⅰ t..H=50.07,P＜0.01 ;corneal dye scores:H=40.52,P＜0.01).The concentration of IL-17 in the supernatant of PBMCs in the SS patients,NSS patients and normal controls were (964.92±124.83)ng/L,(718.85± 115.89)ng/L and (341.95±85.08) ng/L,showing a statistically significant difference among them (F=162.95,P＜0.01).The levels of IL-17 in the tear were (440.69±126.09) ng/L,(364.33±126.85) ng/L and (61.16±11.60) ng/L in the SS group,NSS group and normal control group respectively,exhibiting an elevated level in the SS group and NSS group compared with the control group (F=75.27,P＜0.01).In addition,the levels of IL-22 in the supernatant of PBMCs in the SS patients,NSS patients and normal controls were (98.77± 11.27) ng/L,(79.65 ± 11.01) ng/L and (32.78±9.34) ng/L,and those in the tear were (22.22 ± 8.96) ng/L,(14.92 ±4.35) ng/L and (10.47 ± 2.67) ng/L,with significant differences among the three groups (F =206.27,P＜0.01 ;F =19.87,P＜0.01).The significant correlations were found between the IL-17 and IL-22 concentration in the supernatant of PBMCs and tear with corneal fluorescein staining scores and S Ⅰ t.Conclusions The contents of IL-17 and IL-22 in PBMCs and tear upregulate in the SS and NSS patients,indicating that Th17 plays a key role in the immunity mechanism of dry eye.

Objective To explore the establishing methods and differences of rat models of spleen deficiency and spleen deficiency liver cancer using the traditional Chinese medicine Dachengqi and Xiaochengqi decoctions .Methods Spleen-deficiency rat models were developed by multifactor methods:bitter-cold purgation ( Dachengqi or Xiaochengqi de-coction), cold-wet environment, tiredness, and fasting on alternate days for 30 days.Seven days after spleen-deficiency modeled,liver cancer in the spleen-deficiency rats and normal rats was developed by subcutaneously inoculation of Walker -256 carcinoma cell line in nude mice and then transplanted into rat livers .Liver cancer models were observed for 35 days. Sixty 3-week old male Wistar rats were randomly distributed into 4 groups: normal group , liver cancer model group , and Dachengqi and Xiaochengqi decoction groups .Degree of spleen deficiency , changes of the body-weight, survival time and tumor formation were recorded .Results Spleen deficiency rat models were successfully established .The weight gain of rats in the spleen-deficiency groups was significantly inhibited (P<0.01), and during the first 20 days (but not later) the average body weight of the Dachengqi decoction group was significantly higher than that of the Xiaochengqi decoction group (P<0.05).Spleen-deficiency scores of rats in the Xiaochengqi and Dachengqi groups were higher than those in the blank tumor group, especially in the Xiaochengqi group (P<0.01).The total tumor formation rate was 91.1%and 80%in the blank tumor groups , and 93.3%in both Xiaochengqi and Dachengqi groups , respectively .The average survival time of Xi-aochengqi group was lower than that of the blank tumor and Dachengqi groups ( P<0.01 and P<0.05 ) .The cumulative survival rate of the Xiaochengqi group and rats with a higher spleen-deficiency score was lower than that of the other groups (P<0.05).Conclusions Xiaochengqi decoction may induce spleen deficiency more seriously than Dachengqi decoction , and spleen deficiency may be an important unfavorable prognostic factor for rat models of liver cancer .
