Objective To evaluate the effects of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion or/and icariin on expression of cytochrome C oxidase subunitⅡ(COⅡ) mRNA in mice. Methods The mouse model of transient cerebral ischemia/reperfusion was made by bilateral occlusion of common carotid arteries and ischemic hypotension/reperfusion. The mice were divided into several groups at random: normal control group, model group and icariin preventive treatment group (100 mg/kg). The changes in expression levels of COⅡ mRNA in mice cerebral tissue were detected by RT-PCR at different time points. Results The levels of CO Ⅱ mRNA in model group had no significant changes at 1 h and 24 h after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion as compared with that in control group, but decreased remarkably at 3 h (P

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(04):-
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of double flap reconstruction after craniectomy through transpetrosal-presigmoid approach in the treatment of petroclival tumor. Methods A total of patients with petroclival tumor were enrolled in this study.Craniectomy was performed on them through the transpetrosal-presigmoid approach, and then double flap reconstruction was carried out. After the temporo-occipotal free osseous flap(retrosigmoid flap)was obtained, the superficial flap of the mastoid process(presigmoid flap)was freed by grinding and drilling.During the operation, partial petrosectomy and mastoidectomy were avoided to protect the semicircular canals and cochlea. Results Among the 14 cases, radical resection of the tumor was performed on 8 patients, subtotal resection on 3,and partial resection on 3.Two patients developed CSF leak through the ear.No subcutaneous hydrops or intracranial infection was found in the patients. The patients were followed up at 3 and 6 months after the operation, during which no complications were detected. Conclusions The rates of CSF leak, subcutaneous hydrops, and intracranial infection are low after applying double flap reconstruction to craniectomy through the transpetrosal-presigmoid approach. The procedure are mini-invasive and safety.

The pathologic grading and clinical staging systems have some restrictions for the evaluation of the prognosis of prostate cancer.Early detection of prostate cancer with clinically sensitive diagnostic methods and / or tumor specific markers is of prime importance.Recently, close attention has been paid to the effects of genes related to apoptosis and tumor suppressor genes on the development, progression and prognostic value of prostate cancer. The importance of enzymes/proteins and hormone receptors have also received more and more emphasis in the studies of prostate cancer.

Objective To evaluate the effect of laparoscopic myomectomy. Methods Clinical data of 62 cases of laparoscopic myomectomy were analyzed retrospectively. Results Success was achieved in all the operations.Of the 62 cases, intramural myoma was confirmed in 45 cases, and subserous myoma,17 cases (non-pedicled,10 cases; pedicled,7 cases).A total of 101 myomas were removed, with a diameter of 1~9 cm (mean,6 8 cm).The mean operative time was 25~270 min (mean,99 min),and the intraoperative blood loss,10~400 ml (mean,63 ml).The postoperative hospital stay was 2~8 days (mean,4 7 days) and the overall complication rate was 25 8% (16/62).Follow-up observation in 42 cases for 2~36 months (mean,9 months) found recurrence in 2 cases and full-term pregnancy in 2 out of 10 cases with infertility. Conclusions Laparoscopic myomectomy has advantages of safety, quick recovery, short hospital stay and fewer complications.

The retention mechanism of acid drugs such as naproxen, ibuprofen, diclofenac, phenylalanine and 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid in microemulsion liquid chromatography has been discussed. The reten tion modeling between capacity factors (k') of acid drugs in microemulsion liquid chromatography and concen tration of surfactant, cosurfactant and lipophilic organic solvent and pH value was set.The results showed the effect of change of concentration of surfactant, cosurfactant and lipophilic organic solvent and pH value on capacity factors of acid drugs in microemulsion liquid chromatography was fully consistent with the theoretical modeling. The retention modeling can better reflect the effect of composition of microemulsion solution and pH value on retention behavior of acid drugs in microemulsion liquid chromatography.

Objective To explore the chest features of patients with the novel influenza type A H1N1 on HRCT. Methods One hundred and seventy-two chest HRCT examinations on 163 cases with Influenza type A H1N1 (9 cases were reexamed) were retrospectively analyzed using standard pulmonary window and mediastinal window, respectively. HRCT imaging appearances were summarized. Results Ninety-seven cases showed normal on chest HRCT, while the others showed abnormalities of parenchymal and interstitial. Among them, HRCT identified ground-glass opacity in 35 cases (53.0%), centrilobular nodules in 30 cases (45.5%), thickening of intralobular septa in 31 cases (47.0%), intralobular thin reticulation and micro-nodule in 8 cases (12.1%), single-lobular inflammation in 19 cases (28.8%), consolidation of lung(the large consolidation and multiple small consolidations)in 15 cases (22.7%), pulmonary atelectasis in 3 cases (4.5%), and irregular lines in 2 cases (3.0%). Pleurisy was also revealed including 8 cases with right pleurisy, 5 cases with left pleurisy, and 19 cases with bilateral pleurisy. Mediastinal and axillary lymphadenopathy were found in 7 cases, who were spared of pleural effusion. All above abnormalities resolved quickly after anti- virus treatment. Conclusion Parenchymal and interstitial abnormalities, mediastinum and axillary fossa lymphadenopathy, and pleural effusion were the common findings on HRCT in patients with Influenza type A H1N1, which were similar to those of other viral pneumonia.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic mechanism of Chinese medicine of Yi Xin Le oral liquid (YXL) on insomnia. Methods Mice spontaneous activities, mice sleep time induced by sodium pentobarbital in the threshold dose and under the threshold dose and mice convulsion induced by strychnine nitrate were observed to evaluate the sedative, hypnotic and anticonvulsive actions of YXL. Results YXL could restrain the spontaneous movement in mice, had a synergistic action with sodium pentobarbital on mice sleep, and could counteract the convulsive attack induced by strychnine nitrate in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion YXL has obvious sedative, hypnotic and anticonvulsive actions and this will supply evidence for its clinical usage.

Objective To investigate the mycelia growth of the mutant strain Paecilomyces bainier sp229-7 and it's biotransformation from ginsenoside Rb1 to Rd. Methods The substrate was biotransformed by the mutant in different conditions, and the products were analyzed by HPLC. Results The period of vigorous growth of the mutant was 12-48 h. The optimal transformation temperature range was from 27 ℃ to 32 ℃. The best time for adding substrate was 36 h after inoculation and the substrate (Rb1 20 mg/mL) was specifically transformed into ginsenoside Rd. The transformation process was terminated at 72 h. The ginsenoside Rb1 could be transformed to Rd by all of mycelia, crude enzymes and external enzymes. Conclusions Compared with the reference, the mutant of Paecilomyces bainier sp229-7 growth is quicker and the transformation efficiency has been greatly improved. The reaction time can be shortened to 3 days, and the amount of substrate increased at least 20 times.
