Journal of International Oncology 2015;(3):221-223
Malnutrition is one of the most important factors for the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer, but the mechanism of malnutrition is unclear at present. These patients are at risk of nutritional deple-tion from anorexia, dysphagia, and may be associated with the presence of two or more of the following cyto-kines with metabolic activity such as TNF-α,IL-1,IL-6,interferon,leptin,nuclear factor-κB and so on, which are secreted by the host-tumor interaction. The cytokines constitute a sophisticated regulatory network. Therefore, the study of the relationship between malnutrition and related factors in patients with gastric cancer may improve the nutritional status and prognosis of these patients.

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for rational use of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)drugs. METHODS:The utilization of PCOS drugs in our hospital during Jan.-Dec. 2013 were analyzed in respects of consumption sum,DDDs,sorting and so on. The rationality of prescription was analyzed according to guidelines and drug package inserts and so on. RESULTS:There were 1 551 prescriptions, involving 76 kinds of drugs, and their total consumption sum was 181 072.90 yuan. Main types of drugs were hormone related drugs (accounting for 81.37% of prescription frequency,73.51% of consumption sum) and Chinese patent medicine (accounting for 15.41% of prescription frequency,19.43% of consumption sum). Top 5 hormone drugs in the list of DDDs were Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone acetate tablets,Metformin hydrochloride enteric-coated tablets,Progesterone soft cap-sule,Dydrogesterone tablets and Progesterone soft capsules. Top 5 Chinese patent medicines in the list of DDDs were Kuntai cap-sule,Yougui capsule,Huanshao capsule,Jiawei xiaoyao capsule and Nvjin capsule. Single drug accounted for 72.08% in prescrip-tion. The proportion of irrational drug use was 1.69%. CONCLUSIONS:The application of drug in patients with PCOS is reason-able generally. Some prescriptions are unreasonable, mainly manifesting as incomplete clinical diagnosis, irrational usage and dos-age. Pharmacists should strengthen prescription verification and intervention.

The growth-propagation and decolorization-degradation systems for the model dy e Biebrich Scarlet by Trametes hirsuta were established preliminar ily. It was showed that 30℃ and the static culture were better; the effects of compo nents in culture media on the efficiencies of decolorization and degradation wer e not significant; considering the convenience of observing the changes of dye c o lors and shortenig the culture period, the potato liquid medium had the advantag e of others as a preferable medium for reaction systems of Trametes hirsuta . The decolorization and degradation of all dyes Biebrich Scarlet and Direct Deep Blu e L-3RB, Reactive Blue X-BR, Basic Violet 5BN, and Methylene Blue by Tramete s hirsuta were better.

BACKGROUND:Mesenchymal stem cel s are the seed cel s for tendon tissue engineering which can be obtained in large quantities, but how to induce in vitro is a key technology.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of platelet-rich plasma on the proliferation and col agen production of in vitro cultured mesenchymal stem cel s.
METHODS:The rabbit mesenchymal stem cel s were separated ad cultured. The high-dose platelet-rich plasma group, middle-dose platelet-rich plasma group and low-dose platelet-rich plasma group were set to induce the mesenchymal stem cel s, and the blank control group was set as control.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The proliferation of mesenchymal stem cel s in the high-dose platelet-rich plasma group, middle-dose platelet-rich plasma group and low-dose platelet-rich plasma group was high, and in rapid growth with big increase amplitude, and there was no significant difference in the proliferation when compared with the blank control group (P<0.05). The effect was positively correlated with the culture time, and after cultured for a certain time, the effect was in dose-dependent manner, as higher dose platelet-rich plasma had more significant effect on the proliferation of the cel s. The results indicate that platelet-rich plasma can significantly promote the synthesis of col agen type Ⅰ and Ⅲ of mesenchymal stem cel s, the higher the dose, the more significant the effect on the col agen.

Objective To evaluate the effect of peer educatio n program by the application of the peer education on human immunodeficiency vir us/aeguired immune deficiency syndrome(HIV/AIDS) prevention and the analysis of the change on knowledge, attitude and behavior about HIV/AIDS among technical sc hool students in Shanghai. Methods Three technical schools in Shanghai were selected randomly. Two classes of each school were selected randomly as education group and the students added up to 284.Two hundred and sixty-one students of another 2 classes in each school were selected as the interior control group. Some freshmen came from medical un iversity were carefully trained as peer educators to conduct the education inclu ding 6 models. The same questionnaires were carried before and after the educati on in both groups. Results After peer education the score of average knowledge abo ut reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, STD was significantly higher than before (P 0.05). Conclusions The conduction of the peer education on HIV/AIDS pr evention among technical school students is effective in promoting the knowledge level, but the change of attitude and behavior is a long term. So we highly adv ocate that not only the health education for HIV/AIDS especially safe sex shall be given and strengthened among technical school students in order to promote t he notion of self-protection but also the conception of care others especially t he HIV/AIDS. Objective In this study,we aimed at investigating the clinical, laboratory and management characteristics of adolescent-onset SLE patients compared with adult-onset SLE patients. Methods 470 fe- male patients with SLE were divided into two subgroups:adolescent-onset SLE patients and adult-onset SLE patients. The analyzed variables included clinical, laboratory parameters, damage index and outcome charac- teristics. Results In 470 female patients with SLE,there were 98(20.85%)adolescent-onset SLE patients. The following manifestations occurred more frequently in adolescent-onset SLE patients:malar rash, cutaneous vasculitis, proteinuria and abnormal liver function.Adolescent-onset SLE patients had more severe disease features and had significantly higher mean value of SLEDAI.Mortality was higher in adolescent-onset SLE pa- tients than aduh-onset SLE patients.Renal and blood system were the organs that most frequently involved. Conclusion Adolescent-onset SLE patients accounts for roughly 20.85% of all SLE cases. It is necessary to pay more attention to adolescent-onset SLE patients because the management for them is usually more difficult and the prognosis is usually poorer than aduh-onset SLE patients.

Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2015;34(11):790-794
Objective To study the spinal neurocyte apoptosis and the changes of p53 in chronic fluorosis rats, and the improvement after drinking no fluoride water. Methods One hundred twenty Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups by random number table method according to body mass,30 rats in one group fed with high concentration NaF water (200 mg/L) to make fluorosis model and classified as high fluoride group;other 30 rats were fed with distilled water as control group;another 30 rats were fed with high concentration NaF water (200 mg/L) for 12 weeks, then fed with distilled water for 12 weeks and classified as defluorination group;the rest 30 rats were classified as defluorination control group. The content of fluoride in urine was tested after the 4th,8th,and 12th weeks. Then the content of fluoride in urine of defluorination group and defluorination control group was tested. The high fluoride group rats and control group rats were killed after 12th week.Defluorination group rats and defluorination control group rats were killed after 24th week.Their spinal cord was collected. The expression of p53 protein in spinal cord was detected by immunohistochemistry and Westem blotting.Apoptosis of the neurocyte was quantitatively analyzed by flow cytometry (FCM).Results By FCM,apoptosis of neurocyte was increased in both high fluorosis group rats and defluorination group rats compared with those in control group rats [(3.36 ± 0.71)% vs.(0.78 ± 0.65)%;(3.47 ± 0.56)% vs.(0.83 ± 0.64)%,t =14.680,17.003,all P < 0.01)],but no difference was found between these two groups [(3.47 ± 0.56)% vs.(3.36 ± 0.71)%,P > 0.05)].Immunohistochemistry and Western blotting revealed that p53 expression in spinal cord of high fluorosis group rats was increased compared with those in control group rats (422.69 ± 12.35 vs.177.82 ± 14.16;253.37 ± 10.42 vs.87.14 ± 7.39,t =77.212,72.988,all P < 0.01).And p53 expression in spinal cord of defluorination group rats was increased compared with those in control group rats (418.75 ± 11.84 vs.163.47 ± 8.57;248.29 ± 10.23 vs.98.74 ± 11.52,t =95.663,53.167,all P< 0.01).But the differences were not statistically significant (418.75 ± 11.84 vs.422.69 ± 12.35;248.29 ± 10.23 vs.253.37 ± 10.42,t =1.261,1.906,all P > 0.05).Conclusions There is apoptosis of neurocytes in the spinal cord of chronic fluorosis rats;overexpression of p53 probably plays an important role in the mechanism of damage induced by excessive fluorine.Apoptosis can not be recovered after defluorination for a short time, and persistent overexpression of p53 may be one of the reasons that apoptosis of neurocytes in the spinal cord can not decrease.
