The pathogenicity of a field isolate of Marek's disease virus (MDV) named GXY2 integrated with retroviral long terminal repeat (LTR) sequence from a chicken with MD tumors was evaluated. Experimental chickens were divided into group A, B, C, D and E. The later four groups were vaccinated on one-day-old with CVI988/Rispens for group B and D, with HVT for group C and E, while group A was taken as no-vaccinated control. On 8-day-old, group A, B and C were challenged with GXY2 by intra-abdominal injection, group D and E were kept as un-challenged control. All the birds were raised routinely until 82 days post-challenge (PC), died birds during the experiment and the slaughtered birds at the end of the experiment were necropsied and examined for gross lesions of MD and further confirmed by a developed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based differential diagnosis technique for avian neoplastic diseases. The results showed that time of onset of MD death of group A, B and C were PC 25, 77 and 29 days with the incidences of visible MD visceral tumors. On PC 82 days, tumor incidences and mortalities of group A, B and C were 72%, 34.8% and 50%, 84%, 21.7% and 20%, respectively. The vaccination protection of CVI988/Rispense and HVT were 51.67% and 30.56% respectively. Among all the visceral organs, heart had the highest tumor incidences (23.5%), and then followed by liver (14.7%) and gizzard (10.3%). The weight-gain of unvaccinated birds was significantly depressed and severe dystrophy of thymus and bursa of Fabricius were also found. The results of the study demonstrated that isolate GXY2 possessed the ability of causing acute tumors and overcoming the protection of the vaccinations of either CVI988/Rispense or HVT.

Objective:To observe the impact of diabetes mellitus (DM)on pacing parameters and postoperative com-plications in patients With implantation of permanent artificial cardiac pacemaker. Methods:A total of 80 patients With sick sinus syndrome,Who received implantation of permanent artificial cardiac pacemaker from Jun 2008 to Jun 2011,Were enrolled.According to complicated With DM or not, they Were divided into DM group (n=40)and non-DM control group (n=40).Pacing parameters and postoperative complications Were compared betWeen tWo groups. Results:There Were no significant difference in atrial and ventricular pacing threshold, sensing and of pace-maker impedance in baseline betWeen tWo groups (P>0.05).All parameters of pacemaker increased in tWo groups after implantation 12 months;compared With non-DM control group, there Were significant increase in pacing threshold [atrial:(0.59±0.23)V vs.(0.67±0.25)V,ventricular:(0.47±0.28)V vs.(0.54±0.35)V],sens-ing [atrial:(2.33±1.16)mV vs.(2.92±1.36)mV,ventricular:(12.21±4.82)mV vs.(12.77±5.36)mV], impedance [atrial:(537.12±115.32)Ωvs.(662.48±235.26)Ω,ventricular:(602.48±222.46)Ωvs.(762.41± 235.38)Ω]of pacemaker in DM group,P<0.05 or <0.01;and incidence rate of postoperative complications (12.5%)in DM group Was significantly higher than that of non-DM control group (5%),P<0.05.Conclusion:Electrocardiographic reconstruction is more severe in SSS patients complicated DM,in these patients postoperative complication incidence significantly elevates.

AIM: To explore the effect of OCTN2 gene polymorphism on the expression and function of OCTN2, as well as the sensitivity of SW480 cells to oxaliplatin. METHODS: Four mutations of OCTN2 (F17L, E317K, S467C and P478L) transfected cell lines were constructed. Real-time RT-PCR and Western blot were used to detect the levels of OCTN2 mRNA and protein. The content of oxaliplatin was detected by HPLC. MTS assay was used to detect cell viability. RESULTS: The expression level of all mutant OCTN2 mRNA and protein was not significantly different from that of wild-type OCTN2. Oxaliplatin uptake experiments showed that there was no significant difference in V

BACKGROUND:
Da Vinci robotic surgery system is widely used in department of thoracic surgery. The aim of this study is to investigate the treatment outcome of stage I non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) via da Vinci Surgical System.
METHODS:
Clinical date of 347 stage I NSCLC patients, who underwent lobectomy and systematic node dissection from Jan. 2012 to Dec. 2017, were reviewed. 134 patients underwent robot-assisted thoracic surgery (RATS) and 213 patients underwent video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS). To compare perioperative outcome (blood lose, postoperative drainage, drainage time, postoperative hospital stay, number of the LN dissection) and analyze overall survival (OS), disease free survival (DFS) of the two groups and prognostic factors.
RESULTS:
The RATS group got less blood lose [(49±39 mL for RATS vs (202±239) mL for VATS, P<0.05] and postoperative drainage [Day 1: (248±123) mL for RATS vs (350±213) mL for VATS; Day 2: (288±189) mL for RATS vs (338±189) mL for VATS, P<0.05]. There were no significant difference for drainage time (10±5 for RATS vs 11±8 for VATS, P<0.05) and postoperative hospital stay (13±6 for RATS vs 14±9 for VATS, P<0.05) between the two groups. The RATS group harvested a more number of mean stations (5±2 for RATS vs 4±2 for VATS) and amounts (18±9 for RATS vs 11±8 for VATS) of the lymph nodes, P<0.05. There was no statistically significant difference of OS between RATS and VATS group [1-year OS: 97.3% vs 96%; 3-year OS: 89.8% vs 83.1%; 5-year OS: 87.5 % vs 70.3%; overall survival time (mean): 61 months vs 59 months, P>0.05]; corresponding there had a statistically significant difference of DFS between the two groups [1-year DFS: 93.7% vs 91.3%; 3-year DFS: 87.7% vs 68.4%; 5-year DFS: 87.7% vs 52.5%; disease free survival time (mean): 61 months vs 50 months, P<0.05]. The univariate analysis found that the amounts of the lymph nodes dissection was the prognostic factor for OS and tumor diameter, surgical approach, stations and amounts of the lymph nodes dissection were respectively the prognostic factors for DFS. However, multivariate analysis found that there was not independently factors for OS, but the tumor diameter and surgical approach were independently associated with DFS.
CONCLUSIONS
There was no significant difference about OS between the two groups, but the RATS got better DFS. RATS got more number of the LN dissection and less blood lose.
