International Journal of Surgery 2008;35(7):486-489
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors are the most common mesenchymal neoplasms deriving from the gastrointestinal tract. The prediction of its biological behavior has become a new hot spot of the research. This article reviewed the studies on predicting the biological behavior of gas trointestinal stromal tumors.
2.Management of biomedical research at the university of cambridge: Implications for China
Chinese Journal of Medical Science Research Management 2017;30(1):2-5,20
In China, the Chinese scientist TU Youyou, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine and her findings of artemisinin discovered during the 1970s triggered a lot of discussion on developing a biomedical research management strategy in the new era.Traditional management has faced many challenges in the era of Big Science. The University of Cambridge has remarkable achievements in biomedical research and set up an effective management system.Based on the introduction and observations from Cambridge, this article proposes strategies for advancing research management in Chinese universities in our own context.

Objective To evaluate whether the prognosis of 6 months major adverse cardiac events(MACE)after acute myocardial infarction, and the reperfusion state of myocardial tissue are related to the white blood cell(WBC)count in elderly patients. Methods A total of 101 consecutive patients aged≥60 years(mean age 70?6 years)who had a primary percutaneous coronary intervention as their first-line therapy for ST-elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI)were enrolled, and both their WBC count on admission and ST-monitoring were available.A prospectively defined cut-off value of WBC count was 10,000/?l,a cut-off 50% measured after 60 min was used as ST -segment resolution(STR).Results The high WBC count group(n=48)showed the significantly higher(52.1% vs 22.6%,P<0.01)incidence of 6 months major adverse cardiac events(MACE)than did the,low WBC count group(n=53).The low WBC count group had 45 patients with STR≥50%, high WBC count group had 23 patients with STR≥50%,STR after PCI was significantly different between the 2 groups(P<0.01).Conclusions The WBC count is a predictor of the adverse outcome in elderly patients with STEMI.Furthermore, elevation in WBC count is associated with poor myocardial microcirculatory reperfusion.
4.A modified rabbit model of gouty knee arthritis
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(24):3881-3887
BACKGROUND:An ideal animal model is important for studying gouty arthritis. However, a lack of perfect animal model of gouty arthritis delays the progress in searching for a novel drug and treatment method. OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of the modified rabbit model of gouty knee arthritis. METHODS:New Zealand white rabbits were selected and randomly divided into four groups. Except bIank control group received no intervention;the rabbit greater omentum was removed, which was wrapped with nothing (sham operation group), impIanted with 0.1 g/L monosodium urate crystal suspension (conventionaI group), or 100 mg/kg monosodium urate crystal (modified group) into the suprapatellar cyst of the rabbit right knee. The swelling degree, motor function, and inflammatory response of the knee joint were observed at 1, 2 and 3 days, 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks after modeling to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the modified model. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The movement function in the modified group was significantly decreased within

Journal of Medical Research 2006;0(11):-
Objective To explore the changes of sTfR and Tf in serum in children of acute infection with iron deficiency, and their significance in diagnosing. Methods To detect the level of sTfR, Tf and SF in serum by velocity scatter immune turbidimetry, volunteers were divided into groups as IDAI before and after treatment,IDA and the healthy controlled. While iron in bone marrow was observed by iron staining. Results The sTfR and Tf levels in serum in IDAI and IDA groups were significantly higher than that in the controlled group(P0.05).After the treatment,Hb in IDAI group, though was still abnormal comparing with the controlled group(P0.05) .Conclusions sTfR and Tf in serum were specific and sensitive in diagnosing the iron deficiency, and the results would not change if infected. So they are reliable indexes in diagnosing iron deficiency and monitoring the treating effect in the children of anemia with infection. Therefore the two indexes should be higher valued than SF or Iron in the bone marrow.

Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2008;16(7):409-412
Objective To explore the effect of high-fat diet on IRS-1 and IRS-2 expressions of fatty liver in rat. Methods After the rats were fed a high-fat diet (n=7) and a standard chow(n=7) for 8 weeks, insulin sensitivity, lipid metabolism, TNF-α and hepatic mRNA and protein expressions of IRS-1 and IRS-2 were measured. Results Compared with the normal control, the high-fat diet group displayed the elevated levels of insulin resistance,FFA and TNF-α.Hepatic IRS-1 mRNA expression and IRS-1 protein content were reduced by 28% and 32%(P<0.01),respectively. Similarly, hepatic IRS-2 mRNA and IRS-2 protein content were also reduced by 30% and 27% (P<0.01), respectively. Conclusions High-fat diet results in a significant decrease in expressions of mRNA and protein of hepatic IRS-1 and IRS-2 in rats, which might be one of the molecular mechanisms of insulin resistance in liver steatosis induced by high-fat diet

Journal of International Oncology 2012;39(10):772-775
Matrix metalloproteinases-9(MMP-9) is an important gene in coloreetal cancer occurrence and development.MMP-9 can induce cell proliferation, angiogenesis and neoplasm infiltration, and then leads to coloreetal cancer invasion and metastasis.MMP-9 can not only play the role individually in coloreetal canccr invasion and migration, but also can cooperate with other genes.MMP-9 is a key protease in terminal metastasis of coloreetal cancer.
