BACKGROUND:Ultrasound has been widely used in developmental hip dysplasia screening in infants and young children, but there are significant differences among different inspection findings, even in the reexamination by the same examiner. Therefore, the accuracy of ultrasound imaging in the diagnosis is of insufficient evidence.
OBJECTIVE:Through virtual reality three-dimensional reconstruction images showing the structure of acetabulum and femoral head space, to obtain a new parameter in order to enrich measurement standards of Graf ultrasonic diagnosis technology and to further improve the credibility of the diagnosis of developmental dysplasia of the hip.
METHODS:Ten fresh cadaver specimens of Chinese infants were selected, including five males and five females. Two-dimensional ultrasonic method was employed for hip screening, and at the same time, multi-slice spiral CT was used for three-dimensional reconstruction fol owed by volume reconstruction and fitting of surface reconstruction to display the anatomic structure around the hip and to simulate Graf’s two-dimensional ultrasound method to measure a andβangles on three-dimensional virtual reality images.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:As confirmed by three-dimensional reconstruction, Graf’s two-dimensional ultrasound could be used to measure a and angles, truly reflecting the development of bony and cartilaginous acetabulum. Graf’s two-dimensional ultrasound contributed to the proper evaluation of beonatal hip dysplasia, which can be used as a routine examination for developmental dysplasia of the hip. These indicate that to master Graf’s ultrasound technology and strictly grasp the evaluation standards for developmental dysplasia of the hip is the important guarantee for diagnosis of developmental dysplasia of the hip.

OBJECTIVE: To discuss the application of E-commerce system in Hospital drug management. METHODS: It analyzed the defects existed in current Hospital Information System (HIS), introduced hospital E-commerce system and evaluated comparatively the drug management information before and after the application of the e-commerce system. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: E-commerce system has effectively made up the functional insufficiency of HIS and changed the traditional drug purchase mode; therefore, its application has a bright future.

OBJECTIVETo observe the impacts of the acupoint catgut implantation on postpartum pain of uterine contraction with qi and blood deficiency.

METHODSOne hundred and ten primiparas of natural delivery differentiated as qi and blood deficiency pattern in TCM were selected as the subjects. They were randomized into an acupoint catgut implantation group (55 cases) and a routine nursing group (55 cases). In the acupoint catgut implantation group, the catgut was implanted in Zigong (EX-CA 1), Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Pishu (BL 20) and Geshu (BL 17) in 6 h after delivery; additionally, the routine post-delivery nursing was adopted. In the routine nursing group, the routine post-delivery nursing was applied simply. Visual analogue scale (VAS) and the pain relief time of uterine contraction were compared in 24 h, 48 h, 72 h and 96 h after acupoint catgut implantation between the two groups.

RESULTSVAS Scores in 24 h, 48 h, 72 h and 96 h after acupoint catgut implantation in the acupoint catgut implantation group were lower apparently than those in the routine nursing group (3.31 +/- 0.39 vs 4.31 +/- 0.29, 1.86 +/- 0.29 vs 2.66 +/- 0.25, 0.89 +/- 0.21 vs 1.59 +/- 0.24, 0.35 +/- 0.10 vs 0.69 +/- 0.13, all P < 0.05). The pain relief was achieved in (72.06 +/- 6.83) h in the acupoint catgut implantation group and was (123.42 +/- 11.12) h in the routine nursing group. The pain relief in the acupoint catgut implantation group was achieved more quickly (P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONThe intervention of acupoint catgut implantation in 6 h after natural delivery in primiparas prevents effectively postpartum pain of uterine contraction.

The interaction of killer cell immunoglobin-like receptors (KIR) with HLA molecules has particular relevance to the genetics, immune responses and allogeneic stem cell transplantation. The genes of KIR and HLA are located in different chromosomes and segregate independently. The repertoire of KIR molecules varies among NK cells and is determined by the KIR genotype. The HLA genotype has only subtle impact on the KIR phenotype. Three major HLA specificity groups are recognized by KIRs. Donor versus recipient NK-cell alloreactivity, when recipients lack HLA ligand for their donor inhibitory KIR, can benefit allogeneic stem cell transplantation, especially the HLA haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The outcome of stem cell transplantation can be best predicted by the presence of KIRs on the donor's NK cells and the absence of corresponding KIR ligand in the recipient's HLA repertoire-a receptor-ligand model. In this paper the interaction of KIR and HLA in hematopoietic stem transplantation, the genetic basis of KIR and HLA, the relation of KIR expression on NK cells with HLA and the role of KIR and HLA in immune responses were reviewed.

Background The incidence and progression of glaucomatous optic neuropathy is related to a disturbance of the retrobulbar hemodynamics.Compound anisodine is clinically applied for the treatment of ischemic ocular diseases.Objective To evaluate the effects of compound anisodine injection on the ocular blood flow of glaucoma patients.Methods Twenty-one patients with primary glaucoma were divided into the treatment group and the control group.The eyes of each patient in the treatment group were selected further into the treatment eye group (11 eyes with greater mean deviation [MD]) or the opposite eye group(11 eyes with lesser MD).One of the eyes of each patient in the control group with MD value were selected as control eyes (10 eyes).The treatment eye group received compound anisodine on the para-superficial temporal artery via subcutaneous injection once a day for 2 treatment periods (each period equals 14 days,with 7 days intermittent between periods,totally 35 days) in addition to routine treatment.The retrobulbar blood flow,optic disc data,refraction error,visual field and intraocular pressure were measured in 3 time points:Before treatment period (baseline test),one day after treatment period (the 1st postreatment test) and 35 days after treatment period (the 2nd posttreatment test).Results Compared with the control group,the peak systolic velocity (PSV) and end diastolic velocity (EDV) of short posterior ciliary artery (SPCA) of the treatment eye group were relatively increased significantly in the 1st posttreatment test (P =0.017,0.028),the PSV of SPCA of the opposite eye group was relatively increased significantly in the 1 st posttreatment test (P =0.049),the EDV of central retinal artery (CRA) of the opposite eye group was relatively increased significantly in the 2nd posttreatment test (P =0.035).In contrast to the treatment eye group,the inferior quadrant RNFL thickness of the optic disc decreased significantly in the 2nd posttreatment test in the control group (P =0.009),the 6 o'clock RNFL thicknesses of the optic disc decreased significantly in the 1 st posttreatment test in the control group (P =0.014),and the 6 o'clock and 7 o'clock RNFL thicknesses of the optic disc decreased significantly in the 2nd posttreatment test in the control group (P =0.029,0.011).Conclusions The application of compound anisodine for the treatment of primary glaucoma relatively increases the PSV and EDV of SPCA.

The incidence of malignant melanoma, a highly fatal skin tumor, is on the rise worldwide. Melanomas are highly aggressive and have strong metastatic capability that leads to lethality. Recurrence occurs in patients with distant metastases, even with the latest treatments, and median survival is only a few months. At present, the prevention and treatment of melanoma includes surgical resection, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy. However, these strategies can lead to drug resistance and adverse effects. In recent years, an increasing number of studies have found that natural products have effective anti-melanoma activities, including inhibition of tumor growth, induction of cell apoptosis, inhibition of angiogenesis and metastasis and toxicity to tumor stem cells. In addition, several studies have reported that the combination of natural products and traditional anti-melanoma drugs can enhance the therapeutic efficacy. In this review we summarize the prevention and treatment of melanoma with natural products.

ObjectiveTo study the protective effects of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) antibody on pancreatic encephalopathy in rats. MethodsSixty SD rats were randomly divided into the normal control group, acute necrotizing pancreatitis induction group and TNF-α antibody treated group. Acute hemorrhage necrotizing pancreatitis model in rats were induced by retrograde injection of 5% sodium taurocholate into the pancreatobiliary duct. Serum TNF-α was detected and animals were killed 12 h after drug administration. The changes of brain water contents, leucocyte accumulation and adhesion were measured, and pathological studies of pancreas and brain were performed. ResultsIn group of TNF-α antibody treated, serum TNF-α level decreased, brain water contents and leucocytes accumulation and adhension decreased significantly than that of acute necrotizing pancreatitis induction group (P<0.05). The histopathological change of pancrea was alleviative. ConclusionTNF-α antibody can alleviate the brain damage in acute hemorrhage necrotizing pancreatitis.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of α- galactosyleramide( α-GalCer ) on immune reconstitution under acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD).

METHODSBALB/c mice were transplanted wit hallogeneic C57BL/6 bone marrow cells and splenocytes (both 1×10(7))after receiving lethal total-body irradiation. α-GalCer (100 ug/kg) or vehicle (dimethylsulfoxide) was administered intraperitoneally immediately after transplantation. The effects of α-GalCer on immune reconstitution,proliferation of T cells and B cells, hematopoiesis,and thymic microenvironment were assessed.

RESULTSThe α-GalCer group exhibited higher percentages of CD3(+),CD4(+), CD8(+), B220(+), CD40(+), and CD86(+)cells compared with the vehicle group . The number of colony forming unit per 1000 CD34(+) cells in the α-GalCer group was higher than in the vehicle group ( P=0.0012).In vitro proliferation assays showed that the α-GalCer group had higher percentages of CD3(+), CD4(+), CD8(+),and B220(+) cells compared with the vehicle group. As for the results of in vivo proliferation assays, the numbers of CD3(+), CD4(+), CD8(+), and B220(+)cells were higher in the α-GalCer group than in the normal group ,especially the number of B220(+) cells ( P=0.007).Significant difference was not found in thymocyte count between the α-GalCer group and the vehicle group, nor in the percentages of CD3(+), CD4(+), and CD8(+) cells.

CONCLUSIONAdministration of α-GalCer after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation may promote immune reconstitution in the presence of aGVHD.

Objective To find out the iodine nutritional status and thyroid function of pregnant and lactating women in the urban areas of Wuwei City of Gansu Province,and to provide a scientific basis for iodine supplementation.Methods Blood and urine samples of pregnant (52 persons) and lactating women (59 persons) were collected in 2009.Urinary iodine content was measured with arsenic cerium catalytic spectrophotometric.Serum free three triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroid hormone(FT4),triiodo thyronine(TT3),serum total thyroxine (TT4) and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) were detected with direct chemiluminescence immunoassay.Results The medians urinary iodine of pregnant and lactating women were 274.68,217.88 μg/L.The rates of low urinary iodine (pregnant women below 150 μg/L,lactating women lower than 100 μg/L) were 9.62％ (5/52) and 6.78％ (4/59).Serum TT3,TT4 levels in pregnant women[(2.48 ± 0.59),(132.18 ± 33.36)nmoL/L] were higher than that in the lactating women[(2.16 ± 0.49),(108.79 ± 28.36)nmol/L,t =-3.123,-3.971,all P ＜ 0.05].Thyroid dysfunction incidence rates of pregnant and lactating women were 17.31％ (9/52) and 8.47％ (5/59).Thyroid dysfunction was mostly subclinical hypothyroidism.Conclusions Overall iodine nutrition of pregnant and lactating women is in good condition,some individuals have the trend of hypothyroidism.It is necessary to carry out routine monitoring of urinary iodine and thyroid function.
