OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of temozolomide(TMZ)in combination with dexamethasone(DXM)on the proliferation of human gliocytoma U251 cells in vitro.METHODS:Human U251 cells were assigned to 1 of the 3 groups: TMZ(10,25,50,100,200,400?mol?L~(-1),respectively)alone or in combination with 40?mol?L~(-1)DXM(TMZ+DXM group)or control group(none drug).After treatment for 72 hours,the cell morphology,cell inhibition ratio,cell cycle and the apoptotic rate were detected.RESULTS:When TMZ concentration was greater than 100?mol?L~(-1)the cell inhibition ratio was higher in TMZ-treated group than in TMZ+DXM-treated group(P

BackgroundWith the number of diabetics increases,people pay more attention to the diabetic keratopathy.The major mechanism leading to diabetic keratopathy is diabetic corneal neuropathy.So it is significant to observe pathologic mechanism of diabetic corneal neuropathy. Objective To investigate the protective effects of edaravone( a free radical scavenger) on corneal nerve of rats with experimental diabetic corneal neuropathy,then explain the effects of oxidative stress in the pathologic mechanism of diabetic corneal neuropathy. Methods Seventy Sprague-Daxley male rats were taken as experimental subjects and 20 of them were used as normal control group.The remaining 50 were induced to be diabetic mellitus by a single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin and divided into 2 groups randomly:edaravone treated group and diabetic control group.In the edaravone treated group,edaravone(0.2 g/L) eye drops were used 3 times a day until the animal was killed.Five rats in each group were sacrificed at 6,8,10 and 12 weeks respectively.Then the corneal sensation,number of corneal nerve fibers,morphology,content of malondialdehyde(MDA) and activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) in the corneal tissue were detected.ResultsIn the diabetic control group,the corneal sensation and the number of corneal nerve fibers were decreased,the density of neural network for cluster was sparse,the nerve activity was decreased,the content of MDA in the corneal tissue was significantly increased,the activity of SOD in the corneal tissue was significantly decreased (P＜0.01 ).Accompany with the course of disease,the above change was obvious day after day.Compared with the diabetic control group,the corneal sensation and the morphological abnormalities in corneal nerve of edaravone group were improved significantly which had the partial branches to the 12th week,the content of MDA in the corneal tissue was significantly decreased,the activity of SOD in the corneal tissue was significantly increased (P＜0.01).Conclusions Edaravone can lower diabetic corneal nerve of rats with experimental diabetic corneal neuropathyinjury,Oxidative stress may be a critical pathologic mechanism of diabetic corneal neuropathy.

Objective:To develop a succinct and effective social support questionnaire for Chinese Farmers.Methods:Based on the studies of Vender Poel Mart et al and combined with the interview data of 53 farmers,a pro-questionnaire was developed;An item analysis was conducted with a sample of 800 farmers of Zhejiang province;CFA was used to test another sample of 807 farmers from Zhejiang and other provinces.Reliability and validity were also tested.Results:Then,9-item questionnaire was formed;EFA indicated that farmers' social support consisted of four factors,namely:instrumental support,company support,emotional support and the utilization degree of social support,which explained 79.23% of total variance;CFA showed the 4-factor model was well fitted;The Cronbaeh's ? of the questionnaire was 0.72 and the split-half coefficient was 0.64;The correlations between 4 factors were 0.10-0.30,and all factor-total correlations were over 0.50.Conclusion:The structure,reliability and validity of Chinese Farmers' Social Support Questionnaire meets the need of psychometrics.

Objective To study the clinical value of fat-suppression(FS)sequence and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI in judging the nature of breast neoplasm.Methods Sixty patients with breast neoplasm(including malignant lesions in 40 cases and benign lesions in 20 cases)proved by histopathology were reviewed.All patients were undergone FS sequence and 30 cases underwent dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI examinations,time-signal curves were acquired.Results 22 malignant lesions in 20 cases and 46 benign lesions in 40 cases were found by FS.Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI showed 18 malignant and 20 benign lesions.The malignant lesions had visible contrast-enhancement of administration of Gd-DTPA.Type Ⅲ curve was showed in 16 lesions(malignant in 14 and benign in 2),type Ⅱ in 5(malignant in 3 and benign in 2)and type Ⅰ in 17(malignant in 1 and benign in 16).There was significant difference between benign and malignant tumors on the type of time-signal curve(P

Objective: To explore the influence of social support on Chinese farmers’ career choice consideration. Methods: Based on depth interviews and the pre-test on 419 farmers, a questionnaire of self-efficacy, choice consideration and social support related to occupations representing Holland's six RIASEC career types was developed. With a formal sample of 628 farmers, and by the structural equation modeling, the hypothetic models were constructed and tested. Results: Across most of the career types, there were significant paths between positive support and self-efficacy, self-efficacy and choice consideration, negative support and choice consideration; the goodness of fit of the final models were perfect. Self-efficacy fully mediated the relationship between positive support and choice consideration. Conclusion: The influence of social support on farmers' career consideration is ambilateral. Positive support has fully positive effect on choice consideration via self-efficacy, whereas negative support has direct negative effect on it.
