Nano magnetic microspheres prepared by chitosan and poly acylic acid were applied to purifying superoxide dismutase from blood erythrocyte. Chitosan-polyacyilc acid graft copolymer was synthesized by free radical graft copolymerization with potassium persulfate as inititator. To prepare Fe3O4 magnetic fluids with chemical coprecipitation, chitosan-polyacylic nano magnetic microspheres were prepared with glutaraldehyde as crosslinking agent. Structure of nano magnetic microspheres was detected by FT-IR spectrometer. Particle size and morphology were characterized by JEM-4000EX technology. Chitosan-polyacylic nanometer microspheres have good paticle cize distribution, magnetic responsiveness and protein adsoption. Activity, product yield and activity recovery of SOD after purification reached 6 727 U/mg, 21.1%, and 85.7% respectively. Purification of blood superoxide dismutase by chistosan-polyacylic acid microspheres has its renewable and feasible nature.

Objective To understand the correlation between psychological counseling behaviors of accompanying family members and anxiety and depression of inpatients with hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods Used self-designed questionnaires to investigate the behaviors of 45 accompanying family members psychological counseling for their relative hospitalized patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, at the same time, evaluated the anxiety and depression among those 45 hospitalized patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, then analyzed the correlation between the accompanying family members' psychological counseling behaviors and hepatocellular carcinoma in patients' anxiety and depression. Results Among the accompanying family members,53.3%(24/45) were the spouses of the patients. During the accompanying nursing time, there were 20.0%(9/45) accompanying families told to their relative patients less than 2 hours per day, and 80.0%(36/45) told to the patients over 2 hours per day. The proportion of anxiety and depression in the hospitalized patients with hepatocellular carcinoma was 28.9%(13/45) and 77.8% (34/45) respectively. Whether the relationship between the accompanying family members and the patients with hepatocellular carcinoma were spouse relationship was related to the incidence of depression in the patients (χ2=10.470, P=0.005), and whether the time accompanying family members spent in talking with the patients over 2 hours every day was correlative with the incidence of anxiety and depression in the patients (χ2=7.012, P =0.030 andχ2=6.438, P=0.040). The patients who accompanying families told to them less than 2 hours per day suffered a higher depression rate (8/9), and among the patients who accompanying families told to them over 2 hours per day, the lowest rate of anxiety (1/12) was found in the patients who accompanying families told to them around 4.1-6.0 hours per day. Conclusions The patients who are accompanied and cared by their spouses have lower depression rate and lesser depression extent. The accompanying families talk to the patients total 4.1-6.0 hours per day could most favorably reduce the incidence of anxiety and depression in the hospitalized patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.

Chinese Journal of Epidemiology 2005;26(11):897-900
OBJECTIVETo study the relations of noise expose and hypertension in mechanic factory workers.
METHODSA cross-sectional study on 1205 workers (exposed to different noise levels) in Hunan was carried out, using questionnaire, blood pressure of the workers and the exposure level to noise at workplace.
RESULTSThe prevalence of hypertension was 12.1% in mechanic factory workers. There was an increasing tendency of hypertension rate along with the increase of accumulative noise doses (tendency chi-squared = 29.932, P < 0.01). Result by logistic regression analysis after adjusting age, history of hypertension in parents and body weight index showed that the risk of hypertension increased about 5% by 1 dB(A) of more noise exposure (OR = 1.047).
CONCLUSIONNoise exposure might serve as a risk factor of hypertension. Reducing the sound pressure level in workshops could work as an effective measure to control the incidence rate of hypertension in mechanic factory workers.

OBJECTIVE:
To determine the status and influence factors of hypertension on mechanic factory workers and to provide reference for further hypertension prevention and control.
METHODS:
A cross-sectional study on 1205 workers (exposed to different noise levels) in Hunan was carried out by using questionaire and measuring the blood pressure of the workers and the noise exposure level in the workplace. The prevalence and the influence factors of hypertension among mechanic factory workers were analysed.
RESULTS:
The hypertension prevalence was 12.1%. Logistic regression analysis showed the body weight index (BMI), age, and history of hypertension in parents and accumulative noise dose levels influenced the hypertension prevalence.
CONCLUSION
Controlling the body weight, reducing alcohol consumption, decreasing the sound pressure level in workshops and advocating healthy diet may reduce the prevalence rate of hypertension among mechanic factory workers.

OBJECTIVETo study the roles of stromal interaction molecule 2 (STIM2) and transient receptor potential canonical 3 (TRPC3) in extracellular Ca(2+)-sensing receptor (CaR)-induced extracellular Ca2+ influx and the production of nitric oxide (NO) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC).
METHODS(1) The interaction of STIM2 and TRPC3 was determined using the immunofluorescence technique. (2) The expressions of STIM2 and TRPC3 genes were silenced in HUVEC by transfection constructed STIM2 and TRPC3 RNA interference plasmids. The interference efficiency of STIM2, TRPC3 protein and mRNA levels were determined by Western blot and real time RT-PCR, respectively. (3) The second to fifth passage of HUVEC were divided into: STIM2-002 short hairpin RNA (STIM2-002 shRNA ) + spermine + Ca2+ group and TRPC3-004 short hairpin RNA (TRPC3-004 shRNA ) + spermine + Ca2+ group; control group (spermine + Ca2+ group) and vehicle+ spermine + Ca2+ group. The four groups of cells were incubated with CaR agonist spermine, the intracellular Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]i) was detected using the fluorescence Ca2+ indicator Fura-2/AM, and the production of NO was determined by DAF-FM (NO fluorescent probe) of each group in HUVEC.
RESULTS(1) Immunofluorescence technique results showed that STIM2 and TRPC3 proteinswere present in the cytoplasm of HUVEC. (2) The results of transfection constructed STIM2 and TRPC3 RNA interference plasmids demonstrated that shRNA targeted to the STIM2 and TRPC3 genes decreased STIM2 and TRPC3 mRNA levels by 88.2% and 74.0%, respectively (P < 0.05), simultaneously, the STIM2 and TRPC3 protein levels were decreased by 79.9% and 71.8%, respectively (P < 0.05). (3) Compared with spermine + Ca2+ group, the [Ca2+]i and the net NO fluorescence intensity of spermine + Ca(2+) + ShSTIM2-002 group, spermine + Ca(2+) + ShTRPC3-004 group and spermine + Ca2+ Vehicle group were not changed (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSTIM2 and TRPC3 do not participate in CaR-mediated Ca2+ influx and NO production individually.

Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2013;15(2):112-116
OBJECTIVETo study the pathogen distribution and risk factors of nosocomial infections in neonates in the neonatal intensive care units (NICU).
METHODSThe clinical data of 145 neonates with nosocomial infection in the NICU were retrospectively reviewed.
RESULTSOf the 145 neonates, 41 (28.3%) were infected with Klebsiella pneumoniae, 39 (26.9%) with Escherichia coli, 10 (6.9%) with Staphylococcus epidermidis, and 55 (37.9%) with other pathogens. Logistic regression analysis showed that a gestational age of ≤32 weeks (OR=5.57), birth weigh of <1500 g (OR=6.95), hospitalization time (OR=1.23), mechanical ventilation (OR=14.12) and parenteral nutrition (OR=3.01) were major risk factors for nosocomial infections caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae. The five factors were also main risk factors for nosocomial infection caused by Escherichia coli, with the OR of 3.42, 6.73, 9.96, 0.55 and 2.13 respectively. Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli were highly resistant to β-lactam antibiotics but were relatively sensitive to levofloxacin and meropenem.
CONCLUSIONSKlebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis are major pathogens of nosocomial infections in neonates in the NICU and they are resistant to β-lactam antibiotics. Mechanical ventilation and hospitalization time are the most important risk factors for nosocomial infections caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli respectively.
