Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2020;18(3):213-218
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of heat-sensitive moxibustion plus medications on senile osteoporosis (SOP), and to explore the related mechanisms. Methods: A total of 70 elderly participants with osteoporosis were randomly divided into an observation group and control group, with 35 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional drugs, and the observation group was treated with heat-sensitive moxibustion on the basis of the conventional drugs. Both groups were treated for 3 months. Before and after treatment, assessed the visual analog scale (VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI) scores, determined the bone mineral density of the participants' lumbar spine (L2-L4) and left femoral neck, and detected the participants' serum bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) and osteoprotegerin (OPG) levels. Results: After treatment, the VAS scores of both groups were lower than before treatment (both P<0.05), and the VAS score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the bone mineral density values of the lumbar spine and left femoral neck in both groups were significantly higher than before treatment (both P<0.05), and the bone mineral density values of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the ODI scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment (both P<0.05), and the ODI score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum BMP-2 and OPG levels in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (both P<0.05). Conclusion: Heat-sensitive moxibustion plus medications for SOP can significantly relieve patients' pain, improve dysfunction, and increase bone density, which may be related to the improvement of the serum BMP-2 and OPG levels.

Objective Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) can induce infection in multiple organs, including genitouri-nary system, central nervous system and liver. It can even lead to serious defects and death. China, as a high-incidence area of HCMV, need employ early treatment. However, the sensitivity of present HCMV diagnosis is not satisfied. Methods In the present study, we focused on transcription level of HCMV IE and pp67 mRNA using real-time quantitative PCR. Results IE mRNA was positive even in a portion of patients who were regarded as negative by traditional DNA diagnosis method. On the other hand, pp67 mRNA that were normally expressed at the late stage of HCMV infection was 100%posi-tive in the first-visit patients who were regarded as positive using traditional DNA diagnosis method. Conclusion The pres-ent study indicated that mRNA detection based on PCR method was more sensitive compared with DNA detection for assess-ing HCMV virus infection. Finally, different treatment should be performed upon mRNA transcription profile at different in-fection stages.

Objective To understand the self-rated sub-health status among medical students and its main relative influencing factors. Methods By random stratified and cluster sampling, 878 medical students were selected to investigate sub-health status using Self-rated Health Measurement Scale-the Revised Version 1.0(SRHMS V1.0) and analyzed the related main influencing factors including gender, grade and specialty in college, daily study time, daily online time and cost of living per month. Results The results showed that the proportion of total good-health status among medical students was 21.2%. The prevalent rate of total sub-health status was 54.9%. The prevalent rates of physical, mental and social sub-health status were 49.3%, 28.6% and 39.2%, respectively; and theses rates in female students was significantly higher than those in male students. The prevalent rate of total sub-health status was significant difference with levels of daily online time (?2=15.544, P=0.001). The composition of total health status was significant difference with levels of grades, specialty and daily online time (P=0.000, P=0.005, P=0.000). The proportion of total bad-health and sub-health status was significant difference with levels of grades and specialty, and grade two students and clinical students took the highest proportion. Conclusions The prevalent rate of sub-health status among medical students was generally existent, and mental and physical health among medical students was mainly affected by gender, grade, specialty and daily online time. We should take proper intervention and adjustment to promote medical students' health.

Chinese Journal of Prevention and Control of Chronic Diseases 2006;0(02):-
Objective To understand the personality and self-rated health status and the relationship between them in medical students. Methods By multi-stage cluster random sampling, 878 medical students were selected to investigate the personality by Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised (Short Scale For Chinese) and the health status by self-rated health measurement scale (SRHMS1.0). Results The score of L dimension among male and female medical students was significantly higher than that of nation- wide young population. The scores of E, N and P dimensions had no significant difference between them. The score of P dimension of male students was significantly higher than that of female students. The score of students' SRHMS was 339.28?41.19, which was higher than that of general population in China. The score of physical health subscale among male and female students was 144.90?11.41 and 142.73?11.36, respectively (t=2.829, P=0.005). The scores of SRHMS and its three subscales were significantly different in medical students with different personality traits except the score of physical health subscale in students with different grades of P dimension. The scores of E and L dimensions had significantly positive correlation with SRHMS, and the scores of N and P dimensions had significantly negative correlation with SRHMS. Conclusion The personality traits of medical students were remarkably influenced on their self-rated health. To encourage medical students to reform the wholesome personality will be helpful to their health.

Objective To localize precisely cerebral central sulcus on the coronal MR imaging. Methods The serieses of 4 mm thickness coronal sections and coronal MR images of brain were prepared on 30 cadaver heads. The preparation of the brain slices in correspondence with MR scan took the line perpendicular to the midpoint of intercommissural line as base one. The important cerebral gyri of cadaver were painted different colors. The coronal MR images of 6 volunteers were also prepared. The localization of central sulcus on the coronal sections was studied by the comparison of MR images with serial coronal sections of the brains. Results On the section of the central sulcus appearing for the first time, the appearing rate of dorsal thalamus was: left side 93%, right side 97%; the appearing rate of pyramidal tract was: left side 20%, right side 13%. The central sulcus almost disappeared on the section through the posterior border of splenium of corpus callosum, the appearing rate of the central sulcus on the superolateral surface was 33% on the both sides. Conclusion The central sulcus appears for the first time on the 1-2 sections which the dorsal thalamus appears on but the pyramidal tract doesn′t appear. On the section through pyramidal tract, the superior frontal, precentral and postcentral gyri can be identified according to the three medullary branches on superolateral surface of cerebral hemispheres. The central sulcus has almost disappeared on the section through the posterior border of splenium of corpus callosum.

9.Construction and Functional Analysis of a Synthetic Wound-and Hormone-inducible Promoter ocs/mas
China Biotechnology 2006;0(07):-
The use of optimal regulatory sequences for simultaneous expression of the transgenes might play a significant role in engineering plants with increased disease and insect resistance. The plant expression vector pOMS-GUS,which contained the GUS gene under the control of a chimeric promoter based upon the mannopine synthase(mas)promoter and the octopine synthase(ocs)enhancer, was constructed.Used as control, another vector pMAS-GUS,carried the GUS gene driven by only the mas promoter. The two vectors were introduced into tobacco plants by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation.Fluorometric assays for GUS activity and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)analysis revealed that GUS gene expressed weakly with untreated transgenic tobacco while the level of GUS activity increased steadily after 1 h subjected to wounding. The expression of the mas and ocs/mas promoters was induced a further 1.8-fold and 5.7-fold,respectively.SA(1 mmol/L)or MJ(250 ?mol/L)treatment also caused a large induction of the ocs/mas chimeric promoter; And the application of SA in combination with MJ(1 mmol/LSA & 250 ?mol/L MJ)produced an additive effect that exceeded the wounding response. The results showed that the ocs/mas chimeric promoter is a strong inducible promoter that can be activated by various stresses. The chimeric promoter should have utility in development of disease and insect resistant transgenic crops.
