1.Preoperative estimation of liver functional reserve
International Journal of Surgery 2008;35(11):768-772
Hepatic resection is the treatment of first choice for patients with primary or secondary hepatic tumours.Although liver resection techniques have improved considerably in the past 10 years, liver failure is still the most scared complication, particularly in patients with cirrhosis. In recent years, surgeons constantly attempt to overcome the limits of anatomy and the volume of tumor to increase resection rates. Therefore, accurate evaluation of the hepatic functional reserve is very important in the development of hepatobiliary surgery.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(2):111-112
ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between the clinical type of attack and electroencephalogram (EEG) features of cerebral palsy (CP) children with epilepsy (EP).MethodsThe EEGs of 36 CP cases with EP were recorded under natural circumstances.Results20 cases (55.6%) had focal high amplitude spikes and wave complexes; 4 cases (11.1%) had typical hypsarrhythmia; 3 cases (8.3%) had varied hypsarrhythmia. Among them, the spikes and wave complexes of 9 cases were bilateral.ConclusionThe most of the clinical attack and EEG characters of CP children with EP are partial type.
4.Study of the activated state of TH1/TH2 cytokines on ankylosing sondylitis
Chinese Journal of Immunology 2000;0(08):-
Objective:To investigate the activated state of TH1/TH2 cytokines and T lymphocytes and to explore the pathogenesis of ankylosing sondylitis. Methods:Cytokine levels of Th1(IFN-?、TNF-?、IL-2)and Th2(IL-10、IL-5、IL-4) in plasma, percentages of CD3 +、CD4 +、CD8 + T cells、B cells(CD19 +) NK cells(CD16 +56 +)and CD3 +HLA-DR +、CD4 +HLA-DR +、CD8 +HLA-DR + T cells in peripheral blood lymphocytes were detected by Flow Cytometry. Results:In patients with AS ,plasma levels of TNF-?、IL-2 were significantly lower than that of healthy controls. IL-10 were significantly higher than that of healthy controls. In AS patients, percentages of CD3 +and CD8 + T cell from peripheral blood lymphocytes were significantly lower than that of healthy controls. Percentages of CD8 +HLA-DR + T cell were significantly lower than that of healthy controls. CD4 +HLA-DR +T cell was significantly highter than that of healthy controls. Conclusion:In patients with AS , lower levels of TNF-?、 IL-2 and higher level IL-10 at plasma indicate an inclination between TH1 and TH2, such as an impaired TH1 cytokine profile and an activated TH2 cytokine profile, especially in TNF-?.

Objective To explore the prominent clinical features and the prognosis of corpus callosum solitary lesions cases in children. Methods There were 16 cases with corpus callosum solitary lesions receiving treatment at our hospital from January to December 2013.All of the clinical features were collected and retrospectively analyzed. Results The 16 cases aged 1 year to 13 years with an average age of (3.44 ± 3.65) years. The causes of the disease included the viral encephalitis, convulsions, and rotavirus infection. The most prevalent disorders were convulsions (10 cases),gastrointestinal symptoms (8 cases),fever (8 cases),positive cervical resistance (6 cases),fatigue (5 cases),altered states of consciousness (2 cases),headache (1 case),and dizziness (1 case).Corpus callosum lesions lasted for 13-50 days, with an average of (28.8 ± 10.2) days.Cranial magnetic resonance showed the splenium of the corpus callosum with isolated oval lesions, low signal on T1 weighted images and apparent diffusion coefficient images, high signal on T2 weighted images and diffusion weighted images. Conclusions The splenium of the corpus callosum lesions of children occur in a lower rate than adults with the etiology including intracranial infection, convulsions and rotavirus infection.Main clinical manifestations include fever, convulsions and gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, diarrhea, etc). The cases followed-up showed the lesions and symptoms are reversible, and the prognosis is good.
6.The Inhibiting Effects of Panax notoginseng and Its Monomer Compositions on P-glycoprotein
Journal of Kunming Medical University 2013;(11):143-147
P-glycoprotein (P-gp) belongs to the member of the super-family of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. It is the 170KD glycoprotein which is the product of the MDR1 gene, located in chromosome 7q21. It is an ATP-dependent exported and oriented transporter and involved in various physiological functions as well as the transport process of many types of drugs in the body. The physiological function of P-gp is to pump the toxic metabolites out of the cell in order to reduce the accumulation of toxic products so as to protect the cells from the poison. However, in pathological condition, the drug which used to treat the disease may be pumped out of the cells by the P-gp. Therefore, the P-gp is the main cause of the multidrug resistance in clinical disease such as tumor and some neurologic diseases. The cross-resistance phenomenon is leading to poor efficacy for these diseases treatment.Panax notoginseng as the characteristic Chinese herbal medicine in Yunnan province, it has many significant effects in the treatment and prevention of many diseases such as cerebrovascular diseases. It can improve the blood hemorrheology, prevent the produce of the peroxy radical, alleviate intracellular calcium overload, treat inflammation,as well as improve the immune system function. Meanwhile, some research recently reported that it also has a considerable prospect with its multi-target and multi-channel regulation in the reversal of the MDR1 and the P-gp genes expression. This paper reviews the progress of the down-regulated expression of P-gp and MDR1 genes through different pathways, and the mechanism of Panax notoginseng and its monomer compositions on down-regulated the expression of the P-gp and MDR1 genes.

Objective To evaluate the regulatory effect of hydroxychloroquine on in vitro differentiation of regulatory T cells(Treg). Methods Fifteen milliliters of peripheral blood were obtained from a healthy human subject followed by isolation of monouclear cells and sorting of naive T cells. Then, the naive T cells were classified into two groups:control group cultured with the presence of tumor growth factor(TGF)?βand interleukin(IL)?2, experimental group cultured with the presence of 20μmol/L hydroxychloroquine and inducing factors. The number and percentage of CD4+Foxp3+Treg cells were determined by flow cytometry at days 0, 6, and 12. Results The number of Treg cells at days 0, 6, and 12 were(2 ± 0.4)× 104,(13.2 ± 5.2)× 104, and(143.5 ± 35.9)× 104 respectively in the control group, (2 ± 0.5)× 104,(2.4 ± 0.4)× 104, and(5.6 ± 3.5)× 104 respectively in the experimental group. There was a significant difference in the number of CD4+Foxp3+ Treg cells between the two groups at days 6 and 12 (t = 3.78 and 6.16, respectively, both P < 0.05). At day 12, the percentage of CD4 +Foxp3 + Treg cells was 79.7% ± 18.1% in the experimental group, compared to 16%± 13%in the control group(t=11.77, P<0.01). Conclusion Hydroxychloro?quine could inhibit the differentiation and proliferation of CD4+Foxp3+Treg cells in vitro.
