Chinese Journal of Nursing 2001;36(1):13-15
Objective:To study the epidemiology of inpatients with fractures and discuss its effect on health education. Methods:Therer were 6290 inpatie nts with fracture investigated retrospectively.FoxPro and SPSS were used for statistical analysis. Results:The mean age of the patients was 41.03±20.05 years. The fraction male to female patients was 2.39:1.The mean hospitalized days were 24.11±22.73 days (±s).A majority(63.5%) of the patients were admitted to the hospital by emerg ency.Fractures in 15 parts accounted for 70% of total fractures in 6 hospital, 7 of which accounted for more than 50% of total fractures in each hospital.Discussion:Health education should be carried out according to risk factors as well as age and gender. The devel opment of the model, which combines prevention,first-aid and rehabilitation,is t he trend of health education for fractures. The basic knowledge of fractures in these 15 parts should be learned by orthopedic nurses.Patient education should be carried out individually. The hospital's situation should also be considered.

Mathematical model has been increasingly applied in the description of the transmission of schistosomiasis, the prediction and selection of schistosomiasis prevention measures, and it has being developed constantly. This paper briefly introduces several typical mathematical models for transmission of schistosomiasis and summarizes their advancements.

Objective To understand the status quo of the iron supplementation before pregnancy and during pregnancy and its influence on anemia in pregnant and lying-in women .Methods By adopting the stratified random sampling method ,the pregnant women with at least 37-week pregnancy or lying-in women during puerperium with hospital delivery in the midwifery institutions , moreover taking at least once blood routine examination during pregnancy or on 3 -7 d after delivery ,were taken as the research subjects .The questionnaire investigation and blood testing were applied to understand their status quo of iron supplementation and anemia .Results 2 019 pregnant and lying-in women wer einvestigated .Among them ,32 .19% of pregnant and lying-in women had the iron supplementation before pregnancy or during pregnancy .The period and frequency of iron supplementation were mainly the pregnant period and once a day .91 .54% of iron supplementation was conducted under the doctor′s guidance .The prevalence of ane-mia in the pregnant women with iron supplementation was lower than that in the pregnant women without iron supplementation . Conclusion Iron supplementation can be effective in preventing anemia of pregnant and lying-in women .It is suggested that scien-tific and rational iron supplements should be performed from prepregnancy to throughout pregnant period for reducing the occur-rence of anemia .

Objective To observe the clinical sedativelefficacy of Tianwang-Buxin Dan treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients undergoing mechanical ventilation. Methods 97 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease undergoing mechanical ventilation were randomly recruited into a treatment group (47 cases) and a control group (50 cases). The control group was treated with midazolam and fentanyl, and the treatment group were treated by Tianwang-Buxin Dan on the basis of the control group. The amount of medazolam and fentanyl, duration of MV,and incidence of side-effects such as hypotension, bradycardia, delirium, nausea, etc were observed in both groups. Results The expected sedative and analgesia scores were obtained in patients of both groups.Compared with the control group, the patients in the treatment group were easier to be aroused and be kept in sedation and analgesia state, besides the dose of midazolam (μg/kg·h-1) (9.51 ±5.87 vs 20.01 ±6.24,P<0.01)and fentanyl (μg/kg·h-1) was significantly fewer (0.22 ±0.13 vs 0.32±0.12,P<0.05),duration of MV (days) was shorter(7.13±6.25 vs 12.85±9.13,P<0.01),duration of disable sedatives for extubating (hours)was shorter (4.35 ± 2.57 vs 8.79±4.02,P<0.01),the rates of hypotensionand brdycarcardia were significantly lower, the rates of delirium and nausea were clearly lower(both P<0.05)in the treatment group. Conclusion Sedative effect of Tianwang-Buxin Dan is satisfactory for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease undergoing mechanical ventilation, with the property of easier arousal, lower hypotension rates, lower brdycarcardia rates, lower delirium rates nausea rates, and fewer dosage of midazolam (by 50%) and fentanyl (by 30%) administration.

Basic & Clinical Medicine 2015;(1):74-78
Objective To determine the effects of Sodium Nitroprusside ( SNP) , superoxide dismutase ( SOD) and catalase ( CAT ) on the expression of catalytic subunit of the DNA-dependent protein kinase ( DNA-PKcs ) and Ku70/80 heterodimer in cardiomycyte H9C2, as well as their expression in the myocardial tissues of SD rats . Methods H9C2 cells were co-cultured with SNP at concentreations of 10, 20 and 40 mmol/L for 6 hours, SD rats were injected with normal saline , SNP, SNP+SOD, SNP+CAT or SNP+SOD+CAT.Western blot and immuno-histochemistry assay were used to examine DNA-PKcs and Ku70/80 protein expression respectively .Results The expression of DNA-PKcs and Ku70/80 increased in H9C2 cells co-cultured with SNP when compared with control group, but they were be decreased when treated with SOD or/and CAT.The expression of DNA-Pkcs and Ku70/80 in myocardial tissues of experimental groups were higher than the control .Conclusions Radical scavengers may play a role as a protective effect for sodium nitroprusside related injury in cardiac myocytes .

Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition 1997;0(04):-
The progressive loss of skeletal muscle protein observed in cancer cachexia may have a negative impact on both the quality of life and the survival time of patients. In recent years, accumulating evidences suggest that the ATP ubiquitin proteasome pathway may be crucial in muscle cachexia. The review is mainly about the role of the ATP ubiquitin proteasome pathway in the degration of skeletal muscle protein during cancer cachexia.

Objective: To develop the national norms of ISCA (intelligence scale for Chinese adult) for urban adults aged 16 to 64 years and examine its psychometric characteristics. Methods:The ISCA standardization was completed on 1600 adult subjects. Year 2000 Census data was applied to the standardization sample in order to correctly represent individuals by age, gender, educational level, geographic region, and occupation. Results:The ISCA had good reliability( test-retest coefficients of Full scale IQ was 0.96, the average spilt-half reliability for the IQ scales ranged from 0.93 to 0.96 and the average standard error of measurement of subtest ranged from 1.04~1.88, rater reliability 0.91~0.96). The total score of ISCA relates that of the WAIS-RC, WAIS-III revised in Taiwan, and CRT-C2 are 0.94, 0.90, 0.69, respectively (P
