Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of pulmonary tuberculosis among students in Fuzhou City in 2022 and the screening of their close contacts, so as to provide scientific basis for further prevention and control of tuberculosis in schools. Methods A descriptive method was used to investigate the campus tuberculosis epidemic situation in 87 colleges and universities in Fuzhou, and 96 cases of confirmed student patients were investigated individually, and 7 488 close contacts were screened according to the requirements of the Guidelines for tuberculosis Prevention and Control in Chinese Schools, and the results were analyzed. Results In 2022, a total of 96 students with pulmonary tuberculosis were found in Fuzhou City, with a male to female ratio of 1.04∶1 and an average age of 17.92 ± 4.16 years. The incidence rate of active pulmonary tuberculosis and the incidence rate of bacterial positive pulmonary tuberculosis among university and college students were higher than those among other types of schools, separately 10.56/100 000 and 5.18/100 000, with significant differences (χ2=75.22, P<0.05; χ2=38.69, P<0.05). The proportion of student patients was the highest in the first quarter (34.38%, 33/96). There were 44 cases of delayed visits, with a delay rate of 45.83% (44/96). The diagnosis was delayed in 15 cases, with a delay rate of 15.63% (15/96). Screening of 7 488 close contacts, of which 5 339 were screened with chest radiography and 5 active cases were found. A total of 7 124 patients were screened by the tuberculin skin test (TST test), the positive rates of TST test results for close contacts of pathogenic and no pathogenic patients were 25.97% (1 135/4 371) and 21.10% (581/2 753), respectively. The strong positive rates were 6.15% (269/4 371) and 3.01% (83/2 753), respectively, with statistically significant differences (χ2=21.84, P<0.05; χ2=35.44, P<0.05). Conclusion In 2022, the incidence of tuberculosis in schools in Fuzhou City was dominated by students from universities and colleges, with the highest incidence rate in the first quarter. The delay in seeing a doctor and diagnosis of student patients was serious. Timely and effective screening of close contacts (especially the close contacts of patients with bacterial positive pulmonary tuberculosis) can reduce the spread of tuberculosis in schools.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of Qingkailing (QKL) in cardiac muscle's injury induced by endotoxin and discuss the mechanism from the inflammatory factors expression and free radical metabolism. Methods A total of 48 male ICR mice were divided into normal group, model group, low dose group and high dose group, 12 mice in each group. The QKL(9 ml/kg) was administered via gavage daily for 4 days in low dose group, the QKL (18 ml/kg) was administered via gavage daily for 4 days in high dose group, the equivalent volume of saline was administered via gavage daily for 4 days in normal group and model group. At the fifth day all groups except normal group, received intraperitoneal injection of LPS 0.2 ml (40 mg/kg), and the normal group received equivalent volume of saline. Intragastric administrated again 0.5h, 8h and 20 h after the model establishment. We took blood from hearts 1 hour after the last administration. The QR-PCR was used to detect the expression of inflammatory factors. The Elisa was used to detect IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, MDA, SOD and GSH-Px. Results Compared to the model group, the content of TNF-α (68.75 ± 7.73 pg/ml, 62.03 ± 16.09 pg/ml vs. 116.06 ± 21.06 pg/ml), IL-1β (110.84 ± 40.61 pg/ml, 105.51 ± 38.21 pg/ml vs. 167.53 ± 54.82 pg/ml) and IL-6 (68.78 ± 20.57 pg/ml, 59.71 ± 13.59 pg/ml vs. 108.80 ± 28.21 pg/ml) in low dose group and high dose group were significantly decreased (P<0.01). The expression of TNFα mRNA (1.42 ± 0.15, 1.30 ± 0.46 vs. 3.00 ± 0.82),IL-1β mRNA (1.20 ± 0.57, 1.01 ± 0.40 vs. 2.32 ± 1.39) and IL-6 mRNA (1.53 ± 1.10, 1.16 ± 1.09 vs. 4.12 ± 2.23) in low dose group and high dose group were significantly decreased (P<0.01 or P<0.05). The content of MDA (10.64 ± 2.91 nmol/mg, 11.36 ± 3.02 nmol/mg vs. 15.21 ± 2.31 nmol/mg) in low dose group and high dose group were significantly decreased (P<0.01). The content of SOD (282.32 ± 35.90 U/mg, 325.07 ± 34.76 U/mg vs. 249.01 ± 45.22 U/mg) and GSH-Px (48.26 ± 17.13 U/g, 49.66 ± 22.11 U/g vs. 26.47 ± 20.37 U/g) in low dose group and high dose group were significantly increased (P<0.01). Conclusions The QKL plays a protective role in myocardial injury induced by endotoxemia. Its mechanism may be associated with down-regulation of expression of inflammatory factors, reducing free radicals and improvement of antioxidation.

Objective:To observe the protective effects of Clostridium butyricum and butyrate on pancreas, liver and intestinal mucosa in rats with acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP), and to explore the possible mechanism. Methods:Forty Sprage-dawley rats were randomly divided into control group, ANP group,Clostridium butyricum treated group(CB group) and butyrate treated group(SB group), with 10 rats in each group by random number method. The ANP rat models were prepared by retrograde injection of sodium taurocholate into the biliopancreatic duct. Rats in CB and SB group were given intragastic administration of Clostridium butyricum 1×10 9 CFU or sodium butyrate (100 mg/kg) in 10 days once a day before modeling. Serum amylase (SAMY), lypase, ALT, AST, TBil, tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α), IL-6 and HMGB1were measured after 24 h. Protein from intestinal mucosa was extracted and Western Blotting was used to measure expression of tight-junction proteins ZO-1, claudin-1 and occludin. Pancreas and liver tissues were stained with hematoxylin-eosin and scored by pathology. Results:The levels of amylase [(9365.1±716.5), (5947.3±512.0), (6517.7±269.6)U/L], lipase[(8343.7±1041.4), (6600.4±899.7), (6754.4±1046.4)U/L], AST[(560.5±72.7), (432.0±76.2), (429.8±40.5)U/L], ALT[(499.9±65.2), (385.7±46.0), (395.8±45.8)U/L], TBil[(134.2±56.2), (74.3±65.2), (81.3±35.3)U/L], TNF-α[(162.0±14.4), (100.4±6.3), (119.2±12.5)ng/L], IL-6[(161.4±26.0), (104.8±15.2), (105.5±12.7)ng/L], HMGB1[(100.1±6.7), (58.0±7.7), (63.4±7.2)ng/L] in ANP group, CB group and SB group were detected; and the pathological scores of pancreas[(11.2±1.08),(9.45±1.06), (9.04±0.89)] and liver[(2.89±0.73), (2.09±0.49), (2.12±0.52)] in ANP group,CB group and SB group were higher than those in control group[(100.6±5.20)U/L, (966.5±301.9)U/L,(30.2±6.3)U/L, (27.6±5.9)U/L, (2.4±0.6)U/L, (29.5±4.8)ng/L,(36.9±7.6)ng/L,(35.5±5.7)ng/L,(1.18±0.05),(0.56±0.09)]. However, those indexes in CB group and SB group were lower than those in ANP group, and the difference was statistically significant (all P<0.05). The expression of ZO-1 in control group, ANP group, CB group and SB group was 1.83, 0.79, 1.25 and 1.16. Objective To identify the possible alterations of brain function in prefrontal lobes and hippocampus in the first-episode patients with positive symptoms of schizophrenia using magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Methods 20 patients were selected to perform MRI and HMRS examination. Proton multi-voxel spectroscopy imaging(1 H-MRSI)was obtained from two sides of the hippocampus and frontal lobes regions. The metabolites included N-acetylaspartate (NAA), and choline-containing compounds (Cho), creatine and phosphocreatine (Cr).The ratios of NAA/Cr, Cho/Cr and NAA/Cho were determined. Results (1)The Cho/Cr ratio was significantly reduced in left frontal white matter of patients compared to right(1. 178 ± 0.210 vs 1.437 ± 0. 337). (2) There was no statistically significant difference in metabolite levels in between left anterior cingulate gray matter and right (N AA. Cr: 1. 339 ± 0.452 vs 1. 748 ± 0. 147;Cho/Cr: 1. 406 ± 0. 394 vs 1. 761 ± 0.362) (P < 0.05). (3) The NAA/Cr, Cho/Cr were significantly reduced in left hippocampus of patients compared to right. Conclusion The results implicate that the metabolic abnormalities might exist in the left hippocampus and frontal lobe of schizophrenic patients with positive symptoms.

Object The influence of producing area and plant age on oxymatrine levels in the dried root of Sophora flavescens Ait. has been investigated to provide useful information to optimize the areas for mass scale propagation, proper management and species conservation. Methods The oxymatrine was quantified by HPLC and various statistical treatments were carried out following SPSS 9.0 and Microsoft Excel. Results The oxymatrine concentrations in the root samples collected from 17 provinces and regions differed from 0.494% to 4.127% and the maximum oxymatrine content (3.493%) was recorded in the root sample collected from Heilongjiang Province. Analysis of variance indicates a highly significant difference in the oxymatrine content of roots collected from different provinces, and the samples from the cold arid northern high-latitude areas had higher oxymatrine than those from warm humid southern low-latitude areas in the mainland China. Plant age is positively related to the total root biomass and oxymatrine content. Conclusion The oxymatrine content in the roots of S. flavescens is quite different between different areas and plant ages. The S. flavescens growing in the cold arid northern high-latitude areas had higher oxymatrine concentration.
