Peritoneal macrophages from thioglycollate-treated C57BL/6 mice were separatedby centrifugation on Percoll discontinuous gradients.Macrophages were so separ-ated into four subpopulations and their tumor cytotoxicity and the effect of sodi-um selenite on different subsets were studied. There was no marked difference inphagocytic activity and Fc recepter activity among the four subpopulations.High-density macrophages activated by MAF were kighly cytostatic and cytolyticto tumor cells, while low-density macrophages were not Peritoneal injection of sodiumSelenite(lmg/kg)augmented macrophage-mediated cytotoxic activity by increasingtheir MAF responsiveness which occurred mainly in the low-density macrophages.sodium selenite did not affect macrophage maturation as the percentage of theperoxidasepositive macrophages remained unchanged,

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2015;40(10):1999-2003
Totally 80 rats were randomly divided into the control group, the model group, low, middle and high dose (25, 50, 100 mg x kg(-1)) scutellarin( SC) groups and the colchicine ( Col) group. Apart from the blank group, all of the remaining groups were intraperitoneally injected with 0.5 mL pig serum twice every week for consecutively 13 weeks and orally administered with the corresponding drugs since the 9th week. The blank group and the model group were orally given equal volume of normal saline once every for consecutively four weeks. After the experiment, efforts were made to detect the contents of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspertate aminotransferase (AST), albumin (ALB), total protein (TP), total bilirubin (TBIL), hyaluronic acid (HA), laminin (LN) and collagen type IV (CIV), collect liver tissues of fixed positions, observe the pathological changes through hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, conduct the pathological grading for liver fibrosis, determine the expressions of hepatic collagen type I and III (C I, C III) and calculate their color rendering index. Compared with the model group, low, middle and high dose (25, 50, 100 mg x kg(-1)) SC groups could decrease the contents of ALT, AST, TBIL, HA, LN, CIV, increase the contents of ALB, TP in serum and reduce the contents of C I, C III in liver tissues. In conclusion, scutellarin has a certain therapeutic effect on immune liver fibrosis in rats induced by pig serum.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate combined with psychological intervention in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.MethodsA total of 90 patients with knee osteoarthritis treated in our hospital from June 2015 to June 2016 were selected as the research object, according to the different treatment methods, the patients were divided into two groups, with 45 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with conventional treatment, while the observation group was treated with conventional therapy and intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate. The experimental data of the two groups were compared.ResultsAfter treatment, the changes of knee joint pain score, joint effusion and joint mobility in the observation group is better than those in the control group. The change of knee function score in the observation group was better than that in the control group. The clinical therapeutic effect of the observation group (95.6%) is better than that of the control group (75.6%);There was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05);There were no serious adverse reactions in the two groups of patients receiving treatment, and there was no significant difference between the two groups.ConclusionThe clinical effect of intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate combined with psychological intervention in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis is good, which is worthy of clinical application.

Objective To investigate the impacts of γ-ray radiation on gene expressions of peripheral blood lymphocytes in SD rats, and to screen differential expression genes and biological pathways closely related to radiation injury. Methods The differential gene expression of peripheral blood lymphocytes in SD rats was selected by microarray at 6 h after 2 Gy 60Co γ-ray exposure in vitro and in vivo.Bioinformatics analysis of the differentially expressed genes was performed by using Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) databases.Real-time quantitative PCR was applied to verify the screen results of the microarray. Results Fifty-five genes with three times over-expressed level were screened out from the radiation groups both in vitro and in vivo and they were involved in 6 signaling pathways. There were two differentially expressed genes of microarray assay were verified by PCR assay. Conclusions Differential expressed genes in the peripheral blood lymphocytes of SD rats could be induced by γ-ray radiation and they cooperatively contributed to a variety of biological processes.

Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2015;31(1):85-88
OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG)against exercise-induced fatigue in mice.
METHODSTotal 120 mice were randomly divided into three groups and tested separately. For each test, there were 30 mice subdivided into high dose (50 mg/kg . d EGCG) and low dose (10 mg/kg . d EGCG) groups as well as saline control group(1 ml/kg . d) with 10 in each. Burden swimming, running wheel endurance, stick climbing and hypoxia tolerance exercise were used to establish fatigue mice training model in three groups. And intraperitoneal injection with different doses of EGCG per day for consecutively 28 days and the mice in the control group were treated with normal saline. After the last each test, the blood lactic acid (BLA), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), blood lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), muscle glycogen (MG) and liver glycogen (LG) of each group of mice were determined.
RESULTSEGCG treatment groups(B and C)revealed a prolonged the mice survival time of burden swimming test, hypoxia tolerance, running wheel time and the ability of stick climbing(P < 0.05 or P <0.01), and increased LDH activity and MG and LG contents, reduced contents of BLA and BUN. High dose group had an obviously increase effect than lower dose group(P <0.05).
CONCLUSIONEGCG has significant effects against exercise-induced fatigue in mice.

Objective:To investigate whether topical hypothermia circumstance has the protective effects to the blood-ocular barriers during intraocular operations. Methods:Twenty New Zealand albino rabbits accepted vitrectomy in both eyes, useing hypothermal(4-10℃) intraocular irrigating solution in left eye(hypothermal intraocular irrigating solution group),and useing room temperature(25℃) intraocular irrigating solution in right eye(room temperature intraocular irrigating solution group)during the vitrectomy.Twenty-four hours after the operation, the retina of both eyes were checked;each eye accepted cavum vitreum perforation, and 0.5 ml of intraocular fluid were aspirsted for biochemical detection as well;as well as the retinas cut off for transmission electron microscopical(TEM) observations. Results:Inflammatory reaction of anterior ocular and the uvea in left eyes were generally slighter than the right eyes;dioptric media clarity of left eyes were also better than that in left eyes;average total protein concentration of the intraocular fluid was obviously lower than that in left eye(P
