Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2015;(2):95-97
Objective] To study emotional counterbalance therapy which is used in depression treatment ,it plays an important role in the treatment of emotional disorders. [Method] With the research methods of taking depression for example ,through the sad, fear of these two emotional factors to explore the pathogenesis of depression, and analyze“happiness restrains sadness“ and“thought restrains fear”in the emotional counterbalance therapy, which are used in the depression clinical application.[Result]Emotional counterbalance uses one or more of the emotions to regulate ,control, overcome the other one or more negative emotions, which based on the restriction among the five elements theory is a kind of psychological therapy.Sadandfearare the most common chief complaints in depression which belong to the emotional depression in depression disease of Chinese medicine. On the basis of “sad doing harm to the lungs”and “dread doing harm to the kidneys”,lung, kidney and depression etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms are closely related. This reflects the lung, kidney play an indispensable role in the treatment of depression. It has significant curative effects to apply the theory of emotion counterbalance, such as happiness restrains sadness, thought restrains fear to cure diseases. At the same time, with a relaxed and pleasant mood, actively guiding to help thinking is also the treatment of depression, pessimistic disappointment medicine.[Conclusion] According to the restriction among five elements theory,to use the relation and restriction between emotion and five zang-organs to regulate emotional disorders can restore to the normal balance, which is an effective psychological treatment for emotional disorders. The therapy should be used alone or combined with traditional Chinese medicine treatment in different situations to relive the treatment effect.

Objective To investigate the effect of radix paeoniae rubra (RPR) on expressions of p38MAPK, NF-κB and iNOS in ltpopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury (ALI) and explore its protective mechanism. Methods Forty Wistar rats with ALI were divided randomly into five groups: saline control group (Group A) , LPS group (Group B), RPR for treatment group (Group C), RPR for prevention group (Group D) and SB203580 group (Group E). The effects of RPR on protein content and the ratio of neutrophiles in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), contents of malondidehyde (MDA) and serum NO in lung tissue were observed. Arterial blood was collected for blood gas analysis. Expressions of p38MAPK, NF-κB and iNOS in rat lung tissues were detected. Results Compared with Group A, expressions of p38MAPK, NF-κB and iNOS were significantly increased (P <0.01 orP< 0.05) , the protein content and the ratio of neutrophiles in BALF, contents of MDA and serum NO were significantly higher (P<0.01 or P<0.05) in Groups B, C, D and E. There was a significant decrease in the level of arterial bicarbonate and partial pressure of oxygen in Groups B, C, D and E (P<0.01 or P<0.05). Compared with Group B, the expressions of p38MAPK, NF-κB and iNOS were significantly lower, and the protein content and the ratio of neutrophiles in BALF, contents of MDA and serum NO were significantly decreased, while the levels of arterial bicarbonate and partial pressure of oxygen were significantly higher in Groups C, D and E (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Compared with Group B, the lunginjury of Groups C, D and E was significantly alleviated, while there was no statistical difference among Groups C, D and E in the indices of lung injury. Conclusion Protective effect of RPR on LPS-induced ALI is closely related to the inhibited expressions of p38MAPK, NF-κB and iNOS.

Objective To investigate the molecular mechanisms for the development of cardiac hypertrophy in hypertension, the present study provided the differential protein expression analysis of hypertrophied heart at differ- ent stages in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR).Methods The profiles of protein expression of left ventricu lar myocardium in SHR and its normotensive control Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) rats at the age of 4 and 20 weeks were analyzed with two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) in combination with matrix assisted laser desorption ioniza- tion-time of flight (MALDI-TOF-TOF) mass spectrometry. Results Although the blood pressure of SHR was normal at 4 weeks age, hypertrophy of the left ventricle had already developed. The expression pattern in the hy- pertrophic myocardium was found 27 modulated proteins,20 of which were identified. These proteins are involved in reactions of energy metabolism, mitoehondrial oxidative phosphorylation and oxidative stress, etc. The expres- sion of 13 proteins was significantly changed in SHR rats at early stage prior to the development of sustained hyper- tension, while the expression changes of other 7 proteins occurred only at late stage in SHR rats when the blood pressure was significantly elevated. Conclusions lncrease in glycolysis and decrease in oxidation of fatty acid and glucose was shown in the hypertrophied myocardium from early stage in SHR prior to the development of hyperten sion. The significant changes in protein expression of the mitochondrial electron transport chain and antioxidative molecules support the hypothesis that oxidative stress promotes and accelerates the development of hypertensive car- diac hypertrophy.
