Objective To explore the effect of shRNA silenced aromatic hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) on WNT signaling path-way during the differentiation of P19 cells into cardiac myocytes. Methods The eukaryotic expression vector of mouse AHR gene was designed and constructed. The interference plasmid was transfected into P19 cell and the positive stains to AHR gene silencing were screened by G418. The mRNA expression of important genes GSK3βandβ-catenin were evaluated by real-time fluorescent quantita-tive PCR during the differentiation of P19 cells. Results The constructed AHR-shRNA plasmid significantly inhibited the expression of AHR gene. Along with the differentiation of P19 cell into cardiac myocytes, in the interference group the expression ofβ-catenin gene was lower whereas the expression of GSK3βgene was elevated than those of control group with significant differences (all P<0.01). Conclusions The interference of AHR gene expression can regulate WNT signaling pathway in the development of heart.

OBJECTIVETo investigate diagnostic efficacy of transvaginal three-dimensional hysterosalpingo-contrast sonography (3D-HyCoSy) in assessing tubal patency with chromolaporoscopy.
METHODSA total of 157 infertile women underwent 3D-HyCoSy to evaluate tubal patency. Among these patients, 39 patients were also examined by chromolaporoscopy. The concordance of the two clinical assessment methods was analyzed by the Kappa coefficient test.
RESULTSAmong the 306 oviducts examined by 3D-HyCoSy, 99 (32.4%) were patent, 126 (41.2%) partially obstructed, and 81 (26.5%) completely obstructed. Diagnostic results with 3D-HyCoSy were not statistically different from those obtained in the 39 women (78 oviducts) who also underwent chromolaporoscopy, and the two methods showed a high concordance (k=0.747, P=0.000). The 3D-HyCoSy procedure had a sensitivity of 84.8% (28/33), a specificity of 96.2% (25/26), and positive and negative predictive values of 93.3% (28/30) and 86.2% (25/29) respectively.
CONCLUSIONTransvaginal 3D-HyCoSy can accurately reveal the spatial path and morphology of the oviduct and is a safe and effective method to evaluate tubal patency.

Clinical Medicine of China 2011;27(8):830-832
Objective To investigate the tracing value of drug-loaded nano-active carbon for lymphatic visualization and its potential application in the lymphadenectomy of gastric cancer. Methods Sixty-three patients with advanced gastric carcinoma were randomized into 2 groups:control group and tracing group. For the tracing group, 5-Fu-loaded nano-active carbon (NP-5-FU) suspension was intratumorally administered by preoperative gastroscope-guided or intra-operative injection. No tracing reagents was given in the control group. The numbers of removed lymph nodes and metastasis-involved lymph nodes as well as the lymph node staining were recorded and compared between the two groups. The adverse effects was monitored. Results The resected lymph nodes in the tracing group were much more than that of control group (43.73 ± 9. 25 vs. 25. 36 ± 4. 73, t = 3.82,P < 0. 05). For the N1, N2 and N3 lymph nodes, 27. 17 ± 5. 82,13.73 ± 4. 61 and 2. 83 ± 0. 15 per case of the tracing group were desected, while they were 14. 45 ± 2. 75,8. 27 ± 1.89, and 2. 64 ± 0. 11 per case in the control group, respectively (P < 0. 05 ). 26. 2% (211/842) of the lymph nodes in the tracing group showed black intensity, higher than that of unstain lymph nodes (4. 5% ,21/470,χ2 =95. 108,P <0. 05) and that in control group (16.9%, 142/837)( χ2 =7.485 ,P < 0.05, ). No local and systemic adverse reactions were observed for the local injection of nano-active carbon. No extension of operating time and increased complications occurred. Conclusion Local injection of nano-active carbon which was loaded with 5-FU around the tumor is a very useful measure to trace the lymph nodes and facilitate the lymphedetectomy and chemotherapy.

Objective To study the characteristics of its pathologic and neurophysiologic changes of a ani-mal model of cervical spinal cord compression, and to explore the relationship between the severity of spinal cord inju-ry and its functions. Methods Thirty-two rabbits were divided into 4 groups randomly. A catheter was inserted intothe vertebral canal and a balloon was inflated to compress spinal cord in epidural space. According to the diameter ofballoon, the animals were divided into 4 groups (A, B, C, D group), Each group consisted of 8 rabbits. The corti-cal somatosensory evoked potential (CSEP) and motor evoked potential (MEP) were used to assess neurologicalfunction. Motor function behavior was scored before and on 1, 3, 7 and 14 days after surgery. Histological observa-tions were performed, pathological changes were observed by light and electron microscope. Results Spinal cordcompression resulted in a gradual increase of the peak latency and significant decrease of the peak amplitude. The la-tency and amplitude of MEP were changed more dramatically than those of CSEP. The result indicated that MEP wasmore sensitive than CSEP to the compression. Analysis also revealed that the severer the pathologic changes, the lon-ger the latency and the lower the amplitude of the evoked potentials. Conclusion The animal model presented inthis paper was simple and standardized. Evoked potentials as a noninvasive technique have great value in monitoringspinal cord function. The variance of amplitude and the latency in significantly correlate with the degree of compres-sion of the spinal cord.
