Objective To evaluate the diagnostic and differentiable value of video-electroencephalogram(VEEG)in sleeping-related seizure disorder.Method Sixty-five cases with sleeping-related seizure disorders(35 suspected epilepsy and 30 suspected non-epileptic seizure)enrolled in our clinics from Jan.2005 to Jun.2006 were examined by VEEG and EEG.Results Among 35 children suspected to have the possibility of epilepsy,the epileptic discharge rate examined with VEEG was 62.86%(22/35),which were significantly higher than that by EEG was 17.14%(6/35)(P

AIM: To evaluate the changes of corneal high - order aberration (including Coma, Spab, RMSh) after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) with femtosecond laser, sub- Bowman keratomileusis ( SBK ) and laser epithelial keratomileusis (LASEK). METHODS: Of 82 myopic patients ( 164 eyes ), 31 patients (62 eyes) were treated by FS-LASIK, 31 patients (62 eyes) were treated by SBK, 20 patients (40 eyes) were treated by LASEK. Sirius system was used for measuring the coma aberration, spherical aberration, and high order aberration at 1, 15d,1, 3mo after surgery. RESULTS: 1) Vision: The uncorrected visual acuity of the three groups had no differences (P>0. 05). 2) Corneal aberrations: Three kinds of surgical procedure for patients with corneal aberration had significant impact. The C7, C8, C12 and RMSh of three groups were increased significantly (P<0. 05). The C7, C8, C12 and RMSh were not recovered to preoperative levels after 3mo. But the increase of patients after FS- LASIK was smaller than the other two groups, with statistical significance (P<0. 05). CONCLUSION: Compared with SBK and LASEK, FS - LASIK has better visual acuity in the early postoperative and corneal higher-order aberrations increase is relatively small.

ObjectiveTo study the levels of Tau protein and β amyloid protein(Aβ) in cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) in patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI) and their significance of diagnosis. MethodsSensitive enzyme linked immunosorbent assay were performed to detect the CSF levels of Tau protein and Aβ in 32 patients with MCI and 15 healthy controls. ResultsSignificant elevation of the level of Tau protein and decrease of the level of the Aβ were observed in patients with MCI compared with healthy controls.ConclusionThe assays of the CSF Tau and Aβprotein levels can provide valuable biological marker for the diagnoses and treatment of MCI.

Objective To study the micro-pore architecture and mechanical properties of porous titanium scaffolds with diamond molecule structure produced by 3D print technology, so as to guide the development of 3D-prinited porous titanium orthopedic implants. Methods Selective laser melting (SLM) and electron beam melting (EBM) were used to fabricate porous Ti6Al4V scaffolds with diamond molecule structure. The micro-pore architectures of those scaffolds were observed using optical microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM), and universal material testing machine was used to conduct compressive test on the scaffolds. Results Both SLM and EBM techniques had machining error and half-melted metal particles were found on the strut surface. The relative error of strut size produced by SLM and EMB was 20.9%-35.8% and －9.1%-46.8%, respectively. The scaffold with strut width of 0.2 mm could not be produced by EBM. The compressive strength and elastic modulus of the scaffold fabricated by SLM was 99.7-192.6 MPa and 2.43-4.23 GPa, respectively. The compressive strength and elastic modulus of the scaffold fabricated by SLM was 39.5-96.9 MPa and 1.44-2.83 GPa, respectively. Conclusions The manufacturing precision of SLM is higher than that of EBM. Porosity is the main factor that affects the compressive strength and elastic modulus of the scaffolds. In the same process, with the increase of porosity, both the compressive strength and elastic modulus decrease. When the porosities are similar, the scaffolds fabricated by SLM possess higher compressive strength and elastic modulus than those by SLM.

[Abst ract] Objective To explore the relationship between expression of S100B in hippocampus of depression model rats induced by chronic stress and its depression like behavior,and the antidepressant effect of fluoxetine.Methods 40 rats were put into control group,fluoxetine group,CUS group and CUS plus fluoxetine group,using random number table.Rats in each groups received corresponding treatment.Chronic unpredictable stresses (CUS) were performed on rats for 42 days.Fluoxetine (5 mg/(kg · d)) were delivered to rats by intragastric administration from day 22 to day 42.Then,S100B protein were marked and observed by immunohistochemical method.Open-field test,sucrose consumption and body weight were used to evaluate behavioral changes.Results Scores in behavioral test were reduced significantly by 42 days of stress (main effects of stress,P＜0.05).Effects of stress on behavioral scores were reversed by 21 days fluoxetine treatment (interactions,P＜0.05).CUS resulted in elevated expression of S100B in CA1,CA3 and DG sub-regions in experimental rats (OD values,CUS,0.331 ±0.01,0.353 ± 0.01,0.381 ± 0.007 ; control,0.238 ± 0.007,0.237 ± 0.010,0.228 ± 0.006.Simple effects of stress,P=0.000; P=0.000; P=0.000).Fluoxetine treatment reversed the elevated expression of S100B in CA1,CA3 and DG sub-regions in model rats (OD values:CUS plus fluoxetine,0.233 ± 0.015,0.240 ± 0.005,0.254± 0.015; fluoxetine,0.241±0.007,0.233±0.013,0.227±0.017; Interactions between fluoxetine and CUS,P=0.000; P=0.000; P=0.000).Conclusion Sub-regional over expression of S 100B in hippocampus is associated with depression like behavior of rats.Reversed S100B expression in these sub-regions is an indicator of effective antidepressant treatment but not a mechanism for it.

OBJECTIVETo study the protective effect of alcohol extract of Plumula Nelumbini (AEPN) on carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) induced hepatic fibrosis rats and to explore its possible mechanism.

METHODSTotally 32 male SD rats were randomly divided into four groups, i.e., the normal control group, the model group, the high dose AEPN group, and the low dose AEPN group, 8 in each group. 1,000 mg/kg AEPN was given to rats in the high dose AEPN group by gastrogavage at 10 mL/kg, once daily, while 500 mg/kg AEPN was given to rats in the low dose AEPN group by gastrogavage at 10 mL/kg, once daily. Hepatic fibrosis was induced by intraperitoneal injection of CCl4. Serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and albumin (ALB) were examined using automatic biochemical analyzer. Activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), contents of malondialdehyde (MDA) and hydroxyproline (Hyp) in the hepatic tissue were determined using colorimetry. The degree of liver fibrosis was observed by HE staining and Masson staining. The expression of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) was detected using immunohistochemistry.

RESULTS(1) Compared with the normal control group, serum levels of ALT and AST obviously increased and the serum ALB level obviously decreased in the model group (all P < 0.05). After treated by AEPN, serum levels of ALT and AST were lowered. and the serum ALB level was higher (all P < 0.05). (2) Compared with the normal control group, collagen deposition was obviously seen in rats' livers of the model group, and pseudolobule had formed; inflammatory activities and fibrosis degrees were serious; contents of Hyp also increased (P < 0.05).After treated by AEPN, collagen deposition was obviously reduced with no obvious pseudolobule; inflammatory activities and fibrosis degrees were alleviated; contents of Hyp were also lowered (P < 0.05). (3) Compared with the normal control group, contents of MDA in the liver tissue obviously increased, while activities of SOD obviously decreased (P < 0.05) in the model group. After treated by AEPN, contents of MDA in the liver tissue decreased and the serum SOD level significantly increased (all P < 0.05). (4) Compared with the normal control group, the expression of α-SMA was obviously elevated in the model group (P < 0.05). After treated by AEPN, its expression was obviously lowered (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSAEPN could fight against CCl4 induced liver fibrosis in rats. Fighting against lipid peroxidation and inhibi- ting activation and proliferation of hepatic stellate cells might be possibly main mechanism.
