BACKGROUND: Alveolar bone grafting is known to reduce nasal asymmetry by supporting a defective alar baseand a sunken nostril. However, there are no studies on details of changes in the upper lip with appropriatemeasurements.OBJECTIVE: To measure the change in the upper lip height and nostril sill after alveolar bone grafting.METHODS: Forty-six congenital unilateral cleft lip and alveolus (UCLA) patients (mean age 9.85 years). The patients underwent alveolar bone grafting with autogenous iliac bone grafts. The average bone graft volume was 2.98 cm3.Photographs of the frontal, lateral and basal views were obtained using standardized photographic techniques. The fixedposition points on the patients' faces were measured. Preoperative and postoperative upper lip height and projection, theproportion indexes of the nostril sill were compared.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The 6-month follow-up results showed that the height of the upper lip was increased, but no significant difference was found. The projection of the upper lip was more prominent, but there was not statisticallysignificant difference bbetween pre- and post-operation. The nostril sill was significantly elevated in three of four distanceitems. In conclusion, the height of the upper lip is elongated and the nostril sill is elevated after alveolar bone grafting inUCLA patients.

Objective To compare the safety , surgery effects , pain scores of the close-distance-two-port video-assisted lobectomy and systematic dissection of the mediastinal nodes , and single-port video-assisted thora-coscopic surgery (VATS). Methods Between October 2012 and January 2015 in Peking University First Hospi-tal and Beijing Hospital , 269 patients who were going to be performed lobectomy and systematic lymph node dissection, were gathered and 205 patients were included in this study finally. Of the total, 122 patients were performed close-distance-two-port VATS , and 83 patients underwent single-port VATS. The clinical data were gathered, and statistically analyzed. Result In both groups, no severe postoperative complications or death oc-curred. No significant differences existed between the two groups in terms of intraoperative blood loss , duration and volume of chest tube drainage , postoperative pain score , hospital stay after surgery and hospitalization ex-penses (P > 0.05) but the data about operating time, number of dissected lymph nodes, complications(subcuta-neous emphysema , air-leak from the port of drainage tube and poor wound healing ) were significantly different (P < 0.05). Conclusions Compared with the single-port VATS, the method of close-distance-two-port video-as-sistant lobectomy and systematic dissection of the mediastinal nodes is safe and practicable with definite thera-peutic effect, less operation difficulty and complications.
5. Advances in Philadelphia chromosome-like acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2020;40(9):1294-1301
Philadelphia chromosome-like acute lymphoblastic leukemia (BCR-ABL1-like ALL) is a newly defined ALL subtype in 2009. It is Philadelphia chromosome (Ph)/BCR-ABL1-negative and characterized by a set of gene expression profile which is highly similar to that of Ph/BCR-ABL1-positive ALL. However, there is no definitive unified diagnostic criteria yet. BCR-ABL1-like ALL is generally resistant to chemotherapy, with a high relapsed rate and poor prognosis. It harbors a diverse range of genetic alterations that affect cytokine receptor and/or signal transduction pathway of tyrosine kinase. Overexpression of CRLF2, JAK-STAT pathway abnormalities and ABL-class gene rearrangements are the most common. These genetic aberrations could be therapeutic targets. Both in vitro and in vivo experiments and clinical data support the efficacy of targeted therapy. Beside conventional multi-drug chemotherapy, the combination of targeted therapy, cellular immunotherapy and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is promising to improve the prognosis of BCR-ABL1-like ALL. In this paper, the research status of BCR-ABL1-like ALL is described from five aspects: definition, diagnosis, clinical characteristics, molecular biological characteristics and treatment.

Seventy-two strains of endophytic fungi were isolated from the healthy bark, branches and leaves of Cephalotaxus hainanensis L.. Sixty-eight of them were morphologically classified into Fungi Imperfecti, thirty-three sporulated were identified to five genera. For those did not sporulate, one was identified to Rhizoctonia sp., the rest were tentatively classified into Mycelia Sterilia. Four were identified to Basidiomycetes. The result indicated the endophytic fungi of C. hainanensis show a degree of tissue specificity. There were significant differences about the quantity, genera and composition between the fungi isolated from bark and those from branches and leaves.

Journal of Medical Biomechanics 2010;25(1):E040-E044
Objective In order to avoid potential injuries imposed to human body, it can be feasible to use the musculoskeletal models which can be reconstructed from the cadaver color cryosection (CCC) images, computerized tomography (CT) images, magnetic resonance (MR) images or other images to analyze the dynamic properties of muscles in vivo during human movement. Methods We reconstruct the lower limb musculoskeletal model and define the uniform joint coordinate system (JCS) on the model and the subject. The coordinate transformation of the muscle attachment points both on the model and the subject is described in detail. Results The length and the moment arm of the biceps femoris (short head) during knee flexion are calculated and analyzed. Conclusion This method plays an important role in improving the kinematics and dynamic simulation and the muscle force estimation.

OBJECTIVETo explore the growth of osteoblasts following culture on two absorbable collagen scaffolds.
METHODSMC3T3-E1 osteoblast cell line was inoculated on two collagen scaffolds (BME-10X and Bio-Gide) and co-cultured in vitro. The adhesion and migration of cells were detected by optical microscope. Cell proliferation was detected using CCK-8 reagent kit. The ultrastructure of the adhesion between cells and scaffolds were observed using electronic microscopy.
RESULTSMC3T3-E1 osteoblast cell line could adhere, migrate, and proliferate on both two membranes. The proliferation of cells showed no significant difference between porous layer and nonporous layer of BME-10X (P > 0.05), while the rate of proliferation was significantly different between loose layer and dense layer of Bio-Gide (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONBoth BME-10X and Bio-Gide have good biocompatibility with MC3T3-E1 osteoblast cell line, and the double-layer structure of Bio-Gide can prevent the cells to grow into the dense layer.
