OBJECTIVE:To observe clinical efficacy and safety of Autoserum eye drops in the treatment of filamentary kerati-tis after excimer laser corneal refractive surgery. METHODS:46 patients (90 eyes) with filamentary keratitis after excimer laser corneal refractive surgery were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group with 23 cases(45 eyes)in each group. The control group was given clearing mesh+wearing soft contact lens+bFGF eye drops;the observation group was giv-en clearing mesh+ wearing soft contact lens + Autoserum eye drops. The clinical efficacy,cure time,recurrence rate and ADR were compared between 2 groups. RESULTS:The total effective rate of observation group was 93.3%,which was higher than that (82.2%)of the control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05);the cure time of observation group was(2.7±1.1)d,which was shortened significantly compared with control group [(3.5±1.2)d],with statistical significance(P<0.05). The recurrence rate of filamentous keratitis was 4.4% in observation group and 15.6% in control group;the observation group was significantly lower than the control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05). During the treatment,there were 1 case(1 eyes)of corneal epitheli-al edema in observation group and 2 cases (2 eyes) of corneal epithelial edema in control group,there was no statistical signifi-cance(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:In the treatment of filamentous keratitis after excimer laser corneal refractive surgery,therapy of clearing mesh+wearing soft contact lens+Autoserum eye drops have high total effective rate,low recurrence rate and short cure period with less ADR.

Unilateral neglect is a common and advanced nervous disorder of stroke, well-recognized predictor of poor neural functional outcome following stroke. There are several rehabilitation Methods including sensation input, visual scanning training, vestibular stimulation, head and trunk rotation, suggestive therapy, environmental adaptation and activities of daily living training, and some new therapies including prism adaptation, constraint-induced movement therapy, eye patching and transcranial magnetic stimulation developed in the past few years, which to some extent are effective on the treatment of neglect.

Objective To observe the effect of triplex surgical treatment, including rectal mucosa ligation,Xiaozhiling injection,encircing fighting surgery of the anus ring,on complete rectum prolapse. Methods From February 2007 to February 2010,fifteen cases with complete rectum prolapse were enrolled into this study and accepted triplex surgical treatment All patients were followed up for 1-4 years. Results The curative rate of the triplex surgical treatment was 100% with no serious complications. Conclusion Triplex surgical treatment was a simple, effective and reliable method in treating complete rectum prolapse, with less pain,fewer complications and quicker recovery.

Basic medical theory integrating with clinical practice is the motivation of medical development.In our country,basic medical theory research levels has been low because of mismatch between clinic practice and basic research in lots of affiliated hospitals of medical colleges.In this paper,according to analysize the basic medical research status of several affiliated hospitals of Shantou University Medical College,we think that it is key for enhancing basic research levels to strengthen building clinical research platform,standardize management of scientific research and guide medical staffs carrying out basic theory research from clinic practice.

With the development of computing and storage techniques,there are a lot of medical records and clinical data stored.It raises the issue of how to mine knowledge from these records and to promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).Several challenging research subjects of Chinese clinical medicine data mining and analysis have been introduced in the framework of disease-symptom-syndrome-formulaeffect,and the corresponding developments have also been reported.The significant meaning of the data mining and analysis to Chinese medicine is discussed.Then,the detailed works and recent achievements of seven subjects are given including:① Analysis of symptoms to obtain the optimal symptom subset for one disease or syndrome.② Symptom-syndrome or disease to obtain models for syndrome differentiation.③ Analysis of syndrome.④Analysis of Core formula as well as drug addition and subtraction.⑤ Formula-symptom-effect.⑥ Computerized symptoms.⑦ TCM knowledge engineering.

BACKGROUND: Periprosthetic infection after total hip replacement usually results in surgery failure and needs a second operation.OBJECTIVE: To explore the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of periprosthetic infection after total hip replacement by-reviewing and summarizing articles published in recent years.METHODS: A computed-based online search of Pubmed database was performed by using the key words of total hip arthroplasty, infection for manuscripts published from January 1990 to December 2010 and of those in SpringerLink database between January 1,1970 and December 31, 2010. A total of 2 109 manuscripts were retrieved. Moreover, related book or manuscripts that published by high-impact journals were included. Totally, 29 manuscripts were included. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The formation of biofilms on the surface of prosthesis is the main cause for hardly eradicated. Resistant bacteria and polymicrobial infection seems to be an increasing tendency. A correct diagnosis as soon as possible is very important to prognosis. However, without a gold-standard way, each mean has advantages and shortages, and comprehensive considerations are necessary. lnterleukin-6 seems a good choice for its inexpensive, non-invasive and a high sensitivity and specificity, which has aroused increasing attention. The antibiotics only, debridement with retention, one-stage replacement, two-stage replacement, joint arthrodesis, even amputation, are used to treat infection after total hip replacement. Prophylactic antibiotics are important to prevent infection. Antibiotic-loaded acrylic cement seems to be reliable and accept for more and more patients. However, each option must be selected according to the presence of infection individually.

Unilateral neglect is one of the common advanced neurological deficits of stroke. This article highlights the post-stroke definition of unilateral neglect, incidence, sites of lesion resulting in neglect, possible mechanisms and clinical manifestation. It overviews the typing and complications of unilateral neglect, and points out that the significance on the assessment and treatment of unilateral neglect.
