Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(05):-
Objective To explore the damage effect of formaldehyde on DNA in cells of rats. Methods 24 SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups, formaldehyde (10, 20, 30, 40 mg/kg), distilled water and cyclophospho acetic acid (as the positive control) were given i.p. 24 hours after treatment. Comet Assay were used to detect DNA damage in the cells of the liver, kidney and lung. Results The DNA damage induced by formaldehyde was found in cells of the three organs and the significant dose-response relationship was demonstrated also. Conclusion Formaldehyde can induce DNA damage in cells of rats. The result of the present paper indicates once again that formaldehyde has genetic toxicity.
3.High-flow priapism: diagnosis,treatment and long-term follow-up
Chinese Journal of Urology 2001;0(11):-
Objective To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of high-flow priapism. Methods Five cases of high-flow priapism (age range,18-54 years) were included.Their symptom was described as devoid of pain or tenderness, incompletely but constantly rigid of the penis which was able to increase rigidity with sexual stimulation.Blood taken from the corpora cavernosa showed an arterial blood sample in all the cases.Perineal color Doppler ultrasound findings included the presence of patent cavernous arteries and the focal area of high flow turbulence along the cavernous arteries in 4 cases.Contrast medium extravasating from a lacerated cavernous artery into surrounding erectile tissue lacunae was found when performing internal pudendal arteriography in all the cases.Initially, conservative therapy was attempted but was unsuccessful. Therefore superselective embolization of the proximal artery supplying arterial fistula was carried out in the 5 cases. Results After embolization the penile erection disappeared immediately. In 1 case, priapism recurred 12 h after the embolization and the second embolization was successful and the interval of complete detumescence was 5 to 42 d.The sexual function and erectile rigidity were normalized in 2 weeks to 4 months after embolization. The follow-up time was from 11 to 143 months. The sexual function was completely preserved in all the 5 cases with no recurrence of priapism. Conclusions Intracavernal blood gas analysis, color Doppler ultrasound and internal pudendal arteriography were effective means for the diagnosis of priapism. The effect of superselective embolization of the internal pudendal artery was satisfactory.

8.Advances on intrauterine infection and pulmonary disease in premature infants
International Journal of Pediatrics 2021;48(1):56-59
Intrauterine infection is one of the most important cause of adverse outcomes in pulmonary diseases among preterm infants. The lung tissues of such infants are still immature, whose contact with pathogens when exposed to intrauterine inflammatory environment may trigger local or even systemic inflammatory response, causing different degrees of harm to fetal or neonatal lung tissue.Such damage could lead to bronchopulmonary dysplasia in preterm infants, neonatal pneumonia, neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, etc., affecting their quality of life. This review is about the research progress and the pathogenesis of intrauterine infection in pulmonary diseases of premature infants.
9.Research progress and problems of retinal pigment epithelium transplantation
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2021;39(5):459-463
In recent years, promising results have been achieved in retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cell transplantation in the treatment of diseases such as age-related macular degeneration. The types of transplanted RPE cells include autologous RPE cells, autologous iris pigment epithelium cells, allogeneic fetal RPE cells, allogeneic adult RPE cells, human embryonic stem sell-derived RPE cells, induced pluripotent stem cell-derived RPE cells.According to the transplantation method, RPE cell transplantation can be divided into RPE cell suspension transplantation and RPE cell sheets transplantation. The research on the autologous RPE cells and iris pigment epithelial cells has been reduced due to their limited materials.Fetal RPE cells, which have low immunogenicity and can produce a large number of donor RPE cells, are ideal sources of transplanted cells.Human embryonic stem cell-derived RPE cells and induced pluripotent stem cell-derived RPE cells have adverse effects, including teratogenicity and genetic instability, so transplanted RPE cells need to be optimized. In this article, the experimental researches related to RPE cell transplantation in recent years, the efficacy of transplantation and the existing problems were reviewed. The future trend of RPE cell transplantation may be to establish a comprehensive evaluation system for transplanted cells to screen out relatively suitable donor cells.
