OBJECTIVE To study on the clinical features and treatment method for fungemia.METHODS The clinical features,therapy and outcome of 7 patients with fungemia which happened from 1999 to 2009 were retrospectively reviewed.RESULTS The main underlying conditions were : malignant disease in 7 patients(100%).In this group the risk factors for fungemia included:prior antimicrobial therapy(86%),steroids chemotherapy(57%).Fungal species isolated from 7 patients were: c.albicans(5),c.tropicalis(2).The overall mortality of fungemia was 86%.CONCLUSIONS In this study,the most frequent infectious agents were Candida albicans and non albicans Candida specis.Experience therapy should be begun earlier.Higher dose of fluconazole may be recommended in clinical usage.

This paper discussed the performance and cerebral localization of tone error occurred in patients with aphasia. The definition and characteristics of tone and aphasia were introduced briefly, while focusing on the brain lateralization of the tone. Tone is a language signal, but also has characteristics of melodic acoustic. The dual nature affects the cognitive process of tone languages. Therefore studies at home and abroad about tone showed that the conclusion of advantage of lateralization was inconsistent. In this paper, by summarizing the advantage of lateralization of listening perception with different languages, and generalizing the brain damage localization in aphasia patients with voice disorders, the dominant side of the tone in the brain was discussed. This paper also summarized and discussed the characteristics of voice disorder in aphasia.

AIM:To study the efficacy and safety of Toric implantable contact lens (TICL) implantation in the treatment of patients with high myopia and astigmatism.METHODS: Totally 90 patients (178 eyes) diagnosed as this disease were selected in our hospital during September 2012 to September 2016 by the method of random.The UCVA, BCVA, refraction, astigmatism coefficient, corneal endothelial cell, intraocular pressure, manifest refraction examination were accessed and compared before and after 3 and 9mo of surgery.RESULTS: After 3 and 9mo of the surgery, the UCVA and BCVA were much higher than those before treatment, which the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).We compared the refraction at 3mo (-0.52±0.23D) and 9mo (-0.54±0.16D), the astigmatism coefficient at 3mo (-0.39±0.23D) and 9mo (-0.33±0.56D) after treatment, and we found that the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05).The corneal endothelial cells at 3 and 9mo after operation were compared with those of before treatment, and we found that the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The intraocular pressure of 3 and 9mo after operation was compared with that before operation, and we found that the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05).CONCLUSION: TICL implantation in the treatment of patients with high myopia and myopic astigmatism has a more obvious clinical efficacy and safety and reliability.

Objective To study the morphological characteristics of tumor microvasculature in primary hepatic cell carcinoma (HCC). Methods From Jan. 1998 to Feb. 2002, 32 cases, consisting of 26 male and 6 female, with age ranging from 28 to 76 years [mean (50.56?10.52) years], underwent preoperative digital subtraction angiography (DSA) without theraputic embolization in General Hospital of PLA and 307 hospital of PLA. The diameters of the tumors measured 2～23 (8.05?6.17) cm. The tumor microvessel density (MVD), type and diameter of the tumor microvessels, width of tumor trabeculae, and the size of the malignancy were measured and statistically analyzed. The outcome of the each patient was also statistically analysed. Results The size of tumor tended to be positivly correlated with the pattern of microvasculature of the tumor. The size of the tumor was negatively correlated with MVD, white the tumor size and the diameter of tumor related vessels were positively correlated with the diarneter of tumor trabeculae. Hoverer, the size of the tumor was not correlated with the diameter of vascular trabeculae. Conclusions The density, configuration and the distribution of tumor microvessels were not even in HCC. The features of tumor microvasculature were distinctive at different phases of tumor growth, having definite rules in the development.

Objective:To study the effects of glutamine on the rehabilitation and the immune function in patients with acute stroke. Methods: The study included 57 patients with cerebral ischemia and 29 patients with brain hemorrhage.Nutritional and immune function parameters were evaluated at admission and after 2 weeks following stroke respectively.Neurological deficit was also evaluated by the Chinese Stroke Scale at admission and after 28 days following stroke.The infective complications were investigated. Results:At the same duration after acute stroke,the extent of neurological deficit recovery was significantly lower in the control group than the glutamine group.The rate of the infective complications was significantly higher and it's duration was significantly longer in the control group than the glutamine group.The degree of nutriture and immune function deteriorating was significantly severer in the control group than the glutamine peptide group. Conclusion:Parenteral glutamine supplements is helpful for the rehabilitation and in preventing deterioration of nutrition status and immune function following acute stroke.

Correlation between computerized tomography (CT) findings of enlargement of lateral ventricles (ventricle index,body index,width index and frontal horn index) and motor quotients of PDMS(GMQ,FMQ and TMQ) was analyzed. Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy, especially the comprehensive improvement of blood glucose and lipid of probucol and metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus with hyperlipidemia. Methods:Totally 105 patients with type 2 di-abetes mellitus complicated with hyperlipidemia were randomly divided into the control group1 (35 cases), the control group 2 (34 ca-ses) and the observation group (36 cases). The control group 1 was treated with diet control, exercise and metformin, the control group 2 was treated with rosuvastatin calclum tablets based on the group 1, and the observation group was treated with probucol based on the group 1. The three groups were continuously treated for 12 weeks. The improvement of the fasting blood-glucose (FPG), 2h postprandial blood glucose (PBG), hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C), fasting insulin levels (Fins), insulin resistance indices (HOMA-IR) and TC, TG and HDL-C, and the adverse reactions among the three groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate in the ob-servation group was higher than that in the control group 1 and 2 (P<0. 05). After the treatment, all the indices of blood glucose and lipid in the three groups were significantly improved (P<0. 05), and those of blood glucose in the observation were better than those in the control group 1 and 2(P<0. 05), those of blood lipid in the observation group and the control group 2 were better than those in the control group 1 (P<0. 05), and the level of HDL-C in the observation group was much higher than that in the control group 2 (P<0. 05). The adverse drug reactions in the three groups were mild without statistical significance (P>0. 05). Conclusion:Probucol as one of lipid-lowing drugs with antioxidant action combined with metformin can improve blood lipid and lower blood glucose at the same time, which is worthy of promoted application in clinics.

Objective To provide evidence for diagnosis and treatment by investigating the pathogens and drug resistance of immunocompromised host (ICH)pneumonias.Methods Statistical method was used to analyze retrospectively the data of pathogens and drug resistance of ICH pneumonia treated in our hospital in 2014. Results We confirmed 187 cases of ICH pneumonia by pathogen study of 324 patients.Gram-negative bacillus (68.42%)was the main pathogen of ICH pneumonia.Acinetobacter baumanii (AB)accounted for the first place. Staphylococcus aureus infection was still the first of Gram-positive coccus.Conclusion Gram-negative bacillus was the main pathogen of ICH pneumonia in our hospital and the isolated bacteria show strong antibiotic resistance. Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen dynamic monitoring of pathogens in the secretions from ICH pneumonia patients’ lower respiratory tract and drug resistance.It is suggested that clinicians make anti-infection treatment cover drug-resistant bacteria.

Objective:To observe the acoustic characteristics of glottal stops produced by patients with cleft palate.Methods:Twenty boys with cleft palate who were judged to be glottal-stop-producers and 20 normal peers were included. In their own way, all the children were asked to produce following sounds: /iu/ /pai/ /t′u/, /s/ /k′/ /p′u/ /t′u/, /tA/ /ku/ and /i/ /k′u/ /ti/ /suan/. Then the speech spectroanalysis and the comparison were performed by one investigator.Results:The acoustic characteristics of glottal stops changed a lot when they substitute or accompany with different oral stops, which included the emergence of spikes, changes of voice onset time, the formant transitions and spetroanalysis of spikes. Conclusion:The acoustic changes of glottal stops are complicated. Every single aspects of acoustic analysis should be considered in the identification of the acoustic characteristics.

Aim This research was performed to study the anticancer effects of Panax quinquefolium effective parts (PQEP) in human chronic myeloid leukemia (K562). Method After K562 cells were routinely cultured,MTT assay was performed for cytotoxicity test. Cytotoxicity of PQEP (6.25～400 mg?L -1) in K562 cells was increased in a dose-and time-dependent manner. To explore the mechanism of cytotoxicity, we used several measures of apoptosis to determine whether these processes were involved in PQEP-induced leukemic cell death.Results PQEP induced the cell shrinkage, cell membrane blebbing, chromosomes condensation and DNA fragment. In addition, the flow cytometric analysis revealed PQEP (10～400 mg?L -1) dose-dependently increased apoptotic cells with hypodiploid DNA contents. Conclusion These results indicate that PQEP can control leukemic K562 cells through apoptosis and may have a possibility of potential anticancer activities.
