There are many ways to treat pathological scars.Silicon gel sheeting as a noninvasive and convenient method, are widely used in clinic.The article reviews the lituratures on theoretical research of silicon gel sheeting and its efficacy in the past 26 years, and analyzes the effectiveness of silicon gel sheeting for comparison with other methods.

BACKGROUND:At present,new drug and dosage form to treat diabetes mellitus has emerged continually,but it has toxic reaction,side effects,and contraindication or unindication.Especially that it cannot prevent the natural proceeding of diabetes mellitus from aggravation.Based on theory and experience of traditional Chinese medicine,and combining modern methods of pharmacology and pharmaceutical chemistry,it has become one of the hotspots in researches on diabetes mellitus at present to investigate and empolder preparation of pure traditional Chinese medicine that has good effect and little toxicity.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the pharmacological effect of Chinese compound of Qiangyi Jiangtang capsules on diabetic rat models induced by high-fat forage and streptozotocin.DESIGN:A comparative observation of animal trial.SETTING:Staff Room of Pharmacology,Yunnan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.MATERIALS:Totally 100 2-month-old Wistar rats of common degree,weighing(180±25)g were used.There were 50 males and 50 females,14 rats were randomly selected as the blank control group,and the other 84 rats were used in model establishment.The treatments of the animals in the experiment were accorded with the ethical standard.METHODS:The experiment was carried out in the Staff Room of Pharmacology,Yunnan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March to April in 2004.Diabetic models were induced by high-fat forage and streptozotocin.The successful model rats (n=54) were randomly divided into the model group,positive control group and the high,middle and low dosage of Qiangyi Jiangtang capsules groups.The dosages in the low,middle and high dosages treated groups were 0.4,1.2 and 2.0 g/kg respectively. The rats in the blank control group and model group were given isovolume of saline,and those in the positive control group were administrated intragastrically with metformin (0.5 g/kg).After administration,blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin and serum fructosamine were determined at 1 month,and the amounts of water drinking and food intake were determined at the 2nd and 4th weeks.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Results of blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin and serum fructosamine;amounts of water drinking and food intake.RESULTS:Totally 100 Wistar rats were used,32 of them were excluded due to failure in the model establishment,and the other 68 were involved in the final analysis of results.The blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin and serum fructosamine in the high,middle and low dosages of Qiangyi Jiangtang capsules groups were all significantly lower than those in the model group(P＜0.01).The amounts of water drinking at the 2nd and 4th weeks in the high,middle and low dosages of Qiangyi Jiangtang capsules groups were significantly lower than those in the model group (P＜0.01),and the amounts of food intake were also lower than those in the model group (P＜0.05 or 0.01).CONCLUSION: Qiangyi Jiangtang capsules could remarkably decrease the levels of blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin and serum fructosamine,and the amounts of water drinking and food intake of rat models of diabetes mellitus.It was proved that traditional Chinese medicine for diabetes mellitus is worthy of further development and research.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of gemcitabine combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy on angiogen-esis and cell invasion ability of cervical cancer. METHODS:Totally 37 patients undergoing radical operation selected from Chongq-ing Kaizhou District People's Hospital during Jan. 2015-Jun. 2016 were divided into observation group(n=19)and control group (n=18). Control group was given 3-D conformal radiation and chemotherapy which included Cisplatin injection 70 mg/m2,ivgtt+Fluorouracil injection 600 mg/m2,ivgtt on 1st and 21st day after radiotherapy. Observation group was additionally given Gemcitabi-ne hydrochloride for injection 800 mg/m2,ivgtt,1st and 8th day after radiotherapy. A treatment course lasted for 28 d. The radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy were conducted after 2 courses of treatment. Clinical efficacy,microvessel density (MVD) of tumor,vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF),Wnt1,Wnt3a,Wnt8 and β-catenin level were observed in 2 groups. The relationship of MVD with VEGF was analyzed,and the occurrence of ADR was recorded. RESULTS:The total re-sponse rate of observation group(84.2%)was significantly higher than control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05). The levels of MVD,VEGF,Wnt1,Wnt3a,Wnt8 and β-catenin in 2 groups were significantly higher than healthy tissue;above index-es of focus tissue in observation group were significantly lower than control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). MVD was positively correlated with VEGF. There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups (31.6% vs. 27.8%,P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Gemcitabine combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy can regulate the angiogenesis of cervical cancer cell and the activity of Wnt/β-catenin signal pathway,and reduce the invasion ability of cervical cancer cell,which may be the important mechanism of anti-tumor effect with good safety.

Objective:To establish an HPLC method to determine the content of rosmarinic acid in Wuling capsules. Methods:The chromatographic column was Linksil-ODS (250 mm × 4. 6 mm,5 μm) with a gradient elution mode at the flow rate of 0. 8 ml· min-1,and the mobile phase was acetonitrile-water (32∶68) including 0. 5% acetic acid. The detection wavelength was 319 nm, the column temperature was 25 ℃ and the injection volume was 20 μl. Results: The linear range was 2-80 μg·ml-1 and the standard curve showed good linear regression within the range(r=0. 999 8). And the average recovery was 97. 07﹪ (n=6) with the inter-day precision (RSD) of 1. 35 %. Conclusion:The method is accurate and rapid with good reproducibility in the determination of ros-marinic acid in Wuling capsules, which can be used to control the quality of rosmarinic acid in Wuling capsules.

Objective To investigate clinicopathological features of scalp angiosarcoma, and to analyze the relationship of tumor stage and treatment with prognosis. Methods Clinical and follow-up data were collected from 16 patients with non-metastatic primary scalp angiosarcoma treated in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of Zhongda Hospital, Southeast University from September 2002 to June 2013. According to the seventh edition American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC)TNM staging system for soft tissue sarcomas (2010), staging of scalp angiosarcoma was performed for the 16 patients. Statistical analysis was carried out by the Kaplan-Meier method for survival rates and by the Log-rank test for survival curve. The Cox regression model was used for multivariate regression analysis. Results Of the 16 patients, 4 had stageⅠangiosarcoma, 4 stage Ⅱangiosarcoma, and 8 stage Ⅲ angiosarcoma. The tumor usually began as ecchymosis-like lesions on the head or face in early stage, and progressed into dark red infiltrative plaques, nodules and ulcers which easily ruptured and bled in later stage. Histopathological examination showed generalized vascular proliferation and infiltration with high histological morphological diversity. Cytologic atypia was commonly seen. The median time to recurrence was 15 months, and local recurrence occurred in 7 patients. The median time to metastasis was 20.5 months, and distant metastasis was observed in 8 cases, including 4 cases of pulmonary metastasis, 2 lymph node metastasis, 1 liver metastasis and 1 bone metastasis. The survival time was 33.0 ± 4.4 months (median, 32 months)in 4 patients with stage Ⅰangiosarcoma, 24.0 ± 7.9 months(median, 15 months)in 4 patients with stage Ⅱangiosarcoma, and 23.9 ± 3.9 months (median, 24 months)in 8 patients with stage Ⅲ angiosarcoma. Additionally, the survival time was 23.4 ± 5.2 months(median, 21 months), 24.4 ± 5.7 months(median, 24 months)and 35.8 ± 9.7 months(median, 26 months) in 5 patients receiving surgical treatment alone, 7 patients receiving surgical treatment and radiotherapy, and 4 patients receiving surgical treatment, radiotherapy and immunotherapy, respectively. Conclusions Surgical treatment combined with radiotherapy and immunotherapy may serve as the first-choice treatment for scalp angiosarcoma. Tumor size and treatment regimens are main factors influencing prognosis of scalp angiosarcoma.

Objective:To establish a rapid and sensitive method for the determination of carbendazim in honeysuckle flowers by LC-MS/MS. Methods:The sample was extracted by acetic ether. The mass spectrometer was operated in the positive ionization elec-trospray ( ESI) mode using selection ion monitoring ( SIM) . The transition m/z 192→160 was used to quantify carbendazim. Results:The method had a satisfactory linearity within the range of 50-5 000 ng·ml-1 for carbendazim (r=0. 999 4), the limit of detection (LOD) was 2. 0 ng·ml-1, and the mean recovery was 93. 2%. Conclusion:The method of LC-MS/MS is sensitive, simple and ac-curate,which is proved to be suitable for the determination of carbendazim in honeysuckle flowers.

Objective:To establish a method for determining osthole in Baicao Fuyanqing suppositories by HPLC. Methods:The de-termination was carried out on a DL-Cl8column (4.6 mm ×150 mm, 5 μm). The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-water (65 ∶35) with the detection wavelength at 321nm and the flow rate of 1. 00 ml·min-1 . Results:The linear range of osthole was 2. 0-80. 0 μg· ml-1(r=0. 999 1). The average recovery of osthole was 97. 5%(RSD=1. 95%,n=6). Conclusion:The method is simple, rapid and accurate, which can be used for the determination of osthole in Baicao Fuyanqing suppositories.

Objective To investigate the distribution of Malassezia species in lesional and non-lesion-al sites of patients with pityriasis versicolor(PV),species-variation in different anatomic sites and in lesions with different pigmentation,and the relationship between various Malassezia species and severity and age of PV patients.Methods A total of629skin specimens taken by sterile adhesive tape from the lesions and non-lesional skin were inoculated on media containing rapeseed oil in113patients with PV.Isolated colonies were identified to species based on physiological and morphological characteristics.Results The isolation rates of Malassezia spp.were not significantly different from both lesions and corresponding non-lesional skin.Among non-lesional sites,the isolation rate was significantly higher in forehead and trunk than that in upper and lower extremities.Five species were identified out of565strains obtained from the patients,including M.sympodialis(44.78%),M.furfur(32.94%),M.globosa(11.68%),M.obtusa(5.84%)and M.restricta(4.76%).Two dif-ferent species were isolated simultaneously from27sites.There was no obvious difference in species distribu-tion patterns between lesions and non-lesional sites.M.restricta was isolated from forehead exclusively.Species-variation was closely linked to lesions with different pigmentation and the age of patients,not to the severity of disease.Conclusion There is neither statistical difference of Malassezia isolation rate and species distribution between lesions and non-lesional skin,nor correlation between disease severity and species-varia-tion.The anatomic sites,the diversity of pigmentation pattern and the age of patients seem to be associated with different Malassezia species.

objective To describe the clinical features of patients with posterior circulation ischemic stroke.Methods 216 patients with posterior circulation ischemic stroke admitted in our department during 2004-2006 were analyzed retrospectively.All patients were undertaken MRI on admission and responsble lesions were identified at the posterior circulation territories.The patients'clinical symptoms and signs were evaluated and the relationships between lesion locations and clinical characteristics were analyzed.Results The common symptoms of posterior circulation ischemic stroke were unilateral limb Weakness(81.9%),speech difficulty(46.3%),dizziness(33.8%),and unilateral limb numbness (31.O%).The common signs of posterior circulation ischemic stroke were unilateral limb weakness (81.9%),central facial or lingual palsy(61.1%),dysarthria(46.3%),unilateral limb sensory loss (31.0%),and ataxia(30.1%).The incidence of crossed paralysis was low(2.8%).Isolated vertigo was rare (1.4%).Predominant clinical features such as bulbar paralysis,unconsciousness,visual disorder and amnesia can help to localize the lesions.Typical brainstem syndromes had topographic meanings.Conclusions The clinical features of patients with posterior circulation ischemic stroke were complex.Predominant symptoms can help to diagnose the posterior circulation ischemic stroke.
