3.Role of autologous myoblast transplantation in endplate regeneration and neuromuscular function restoration after direct nerve implantation in rats
Chinese Journal of Trauma 2012;28(9):849-853
Objective To observe the effects of autologous myoblast transplantation on endplate regeneration and neuromuscular function restoration following direct nerve implantation (DNI) in rats so as to offer experimental basis for the use of myoblasts in neural regeneration area and further lay foundation for the research using myoblasts as transgenic carriers. Methods A total of 20 male SD rats were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 10 rats in each group.Models of DNI in rat gastrocnemius were established. The experimental group was injected with primarily cultured autologous myoblasts to the DNI location, while the control group was injected with isometric medium without autologous myoblasts. The effects of myoblasts on the neuromuscular function recovery following DNI were studied by detecting the tibial functional index (FTI),neuro-electrophysiology and pathohistology. Results The experimental group displayed faster tibial nerve function recovery than the control group (P < 0.01 ).The peak to peak value (PPV) of gastrocnemius neuro-electrophysiology,area under the curve and regenerated endplate number of the experimental group had statistical significances as compared with the control group ( P < 0.01 ). Conclusion Myoblast autotransplantation accelerates the recoveryof neuromuscular function after rat DNI and increases the number of the regenerated endplates.
4.CT features and misdiagnosis analysis of retroperitoneal fibrosis
Cancer Research and Clinic 2012;24(4):256-258
Objective To assess the value of CT in the diagnosis of PRF,and analyze the reason of misdiagnosis. Methods Retrospectively analyze the CT data of ten patients with retroperitoneal fibrosis, which were confirmed by the clinical pathology. All the patients underwent CT scan and enhanced scan. Two experienced physicians using the blind method to evaluate the location, boundary, density, invasion on the surrounding tissue and enhancement of retroperitoneal fibrosis lesions respectively. Results All patients with CT scan findings were retroperitoneal irregular-shaped soft tissue lesions, which was similar to muscle density.6 cases with surrounding the retroperitoneal vessel, 2 cases with expansion and hydrops of renal pelvis and ureter.By enhanced scan,9 cases with different degrees of enhancement,1 case without obvious enhancement.6 cases were misdiagnosed as retroperitoneal schwannoma or lymphoma. Conclusion CT can show the characteristics of retroperitoneal fibrosis. Comprehensively analyze various imaging findings is helpful for the diagnosis of retroperitoneal fibrosis. Misdiagnosis reason is mainly due to retroperitoneal fibrosis is a rare disease, and understanding of this disease in imaging findings is insufficient in the daily work.
5.THE INFLUENCE OF PH ON GROWTH OF DIFFERENT GENESIS PROMASTIGOTES OF L. DONOVANI
Chinese Journal of Zoonoses 2001;(2):50-52
The Many experiments show that pH affect the growth of romastigotes of L donovani. But the control tests with Acid - base scale have not been reported on the growth of promastigotes from different genesis. This paper reports that pH has different nfluence on several kinds of promastigotes from different genesis. We obseved that the growth of promastigotes of L. doncvani is inhibited when pH is 4.6 and 8.6.
6.Dipsacus asperoides combined with composite calcium phosphate bone implant for bone defect repair
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2013;(38):6759-6765
BACKGROUND:Physical structure and inorganic composition of composite calcium phosphate bone implants are similar to human bone, and the implants have good bioabsorbable ability and biocompatibility. Studies have confirmed that Dipsacus powder can significantly improve the speed of bone defect repair.
OBJECTIVE:To study the effects of Dipsacus asperoides/composite calsium phosphate bone implant material in the repair of bone defects.
METHODS:Bone defects of 1.0 cm×0.5 cm×0.3 cm were made on the bilateral mandibular bodies. The right side was implanted with Dipsacus asperoides/composite calsium phosphate bone implant as experimental group and the left side implanted with calcium phosphate bone material served as control group. Samples were col ected at 4, 8, 12 weeks after implantation for gross observation, cone beam CT, scanning electron microscope observation and histological observation.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) Gross observation:the osteogenic speed, degradation rate and hardness in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group. (2) Cone beam CT detection:the implant in the experimental group was more tightly integrated with the surrounding tissues than that in the control group, and the degradation speed in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group. (3) Scanning electron microscope observation:there were many fibrous connective tissues between the implants and the surrounding tissues in the two groups, which was more obvious in the experimental group than the control group. With time gone, the implants were combined with the surrounding tissues more tightly. (4) Histological observation:the osteogenic speed and activity in the experimental group were superior to those in the control group. These findings indicate that Dipsacus asperoides combined with composite calcium phosphate bone implant can accelerate bone repair.
7.Therapeutic strategy for retinoblastoma in China
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2009;25(2):81-84
Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common intraocular malignant tumor in children. With advanced clinical technologies there are more and more methods available to treat retinoblastoma, and make it is possible to delivery individualized protocol combined traditional treatments with modern regimen to patients now. In order to improve the survival rate and the life quality of RB patients in China, it is very important to make a suitable system of standardized therapy based on results from developed countries and health policies of our own country.
8.Effects of different ways of administration on the P2X_1 purinoceptor-mediated vasoconstriction in the rat mesenteric artery
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(08):-
Aim To investigate the effects of ?,?-methylene ATP ( ?,?-MeATP) on the P2X1 purino-ceptor-mediated vasoconstriction by different administration ways in the rat mesenteric artery. Methods Isometric vasoconstrictive responses to ?,?-MeATP,administered in non-accumulative manner or single concentration manner, were recorded in the rat isolated mesenteric arterial rings. Results ?,?-MeATP ( 10 -7 ~ 10 -4 mol ? L -1 ) administered in both of the two manners produced concentration-dependent vasocon-strictive responses in the rat isolated mesenteric artery. The vasoconstrictive responses to ?,?-MeATP in single-concentration administration group were greater than those in non-accumulative administration group when the vasoconstriction was standardized either by tissue wet weight or by maximal response to 120 mmol ?L-1 KCl ( P
9.THE CONNECTIONS OF THE VISUAL PORTION OF THE THALAMIC RETICULAR NUCLEUS IN GOLDEN HAMSTERS
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1955;0(03):-
The thalamic reticular nucleus (RT) is a sheet-like nucleus which surrounds the anterolateral aspect of the dorsal thalamus. In this study, we present data on the connections of the dorsocaudal portion of the RT in hamsters using anterograde, retrograde and transneuroual fiber tracing techniques. After injection of one eye with a mixture of ~3H-proline and ~3H-fucose (2 animals; 10 and 15 days survival time), transneuronal label was located in the dorsocaudal portion of the RT (dc RT) on both sides of the thalamus. After separate injection of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) into the thalamic lateral posterior nucleus (LP), dorsal and ventral nuclei of the lateral geniculate body (LGd, LGv) (8 animals, one day survival time), HRP labelled neurons wereobserved in the dorsal, middle and ventral area of the ipsilateral dc RT respectively.A small iontophoretic injection of a mixture of ~3H-proline and ~3H-leucine was made into different sites of area 17 in each of 3 hamsters (one day survival time),in each case an elongated patch of label was located in nearly the entire rostrocaudal extent of the ipsilateral dc RT. A caudal Injection in area 17 resulted in labelling the dorsal area while a progressively more rostral injection resulted in labelling a more ventral area of the dc RT.Thus, the dorsocaudal portion of the RT can be defined as the visual portion of the nucleus because it has connections with many of the known visual centres, namely, the visual cortex, LP, LGd, LGv Furthermore, because of the topographic connection with area 17 and the visual thalamic nuclei, the notion that the dc RT as a nucleus which is capable of processing specific and localised visual information. should be considered.
