Objective To optimize the conditions of process for extraction of volatile oil of Rhizoma Zedoariae (RZ) in Weishu Granules and preparation of its ? - cyclodextrin- inclusion complexes. Methods Orthogonal design was adopted. Extraction content of RZ volatile oil was used as the index for the optimizing of extraction process. The amount of inclusion complexes and efficient inclusion rate served as the indexes for the optimizing of inclusion process. Ultraviolet spectrophotometry was applied to detect the content of volatile oil. Results The optimal extraction conditions were: gringding the crude RZ into coarse grains, adding 12- fold water and distilling the mixture for 6 h; the optimal inclusion conditions were: ? - cyclodextrin and volatile oil were mixed in the proportion of 8 :1, 2- fold water was added into the mixture and the mixture was triturated for 60 min. The maximum UV spectrum absorbance of aethylis acetas liquor of valatile oil located at wavelength of 253nm. Conclusion Higher extraction rate of RZ volatile oil can be achieved by this technique; volatile oil is powdered and its stability increased after being included by ? - cyclodextrin.

Chinese Journal of Infectious Diseases 2021;39(4):193-198
Objective:To investigate the clinical features and their relationship with mortality of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).Methods:A thorough literature review was conducted about peer-reviewed publications including cohort study, cross-sectional research, and case series on HIV/2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) coinfection from January to August 2020. Systemic review and meta-analysis were used to investigate the correlation between mortality and clinical features including age, comorbidities, CD4 + T lymphocyte count, HIV RNA level, and anti-retroviral therapy. Stata 15.0 software was used for meta-analysis. Results:Twenty-four articles were included with a total of 939 HIV/2019-nCoV coinfected patients. Overall mortality was 10.3% (97/939). Advanced age and comorbidities, including hypertension, diabetes mellitus, renal insufficiency, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/asthma and tumor were all significantly associated with mortality (95% confidence interval 0.005-0.050, 0.042-2.294, 0.390-2.754, 0.513-2.848, 0.348-3.743 and 1.943-7.101, respectively, P=0.021, 0.043, 0.012, 0.008, 0.022 and 0.005, respectively). There were no correlations between mortality and CD4 + T lymphocyte count <200/μL or >500/μL, HIV RNA was below the lower limit of detection, or anti-retroviral drug (including tenofovir) (all P>0.05). Conclusions:The overall prognosis of COVID-19 in people living with HIV is similar to general population. Increased mortality correlates with advanced age and comorbidities including hypertension, diabetes mellitus, renal insufficiency, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/asthma and tumor. Low CD4 + T lymphocyte count does not affect mortality. Preliminary results indicate that anti-retroviral drugs have no protective effect on COVID-19.

Two human endometrial carcinoma cell lines, HEC-1-A and RL95-2, were treated with adiponectin, and then changes of cell count, apoptosis and cell cycle arrest were measured. The expression of phospho-AMPK(Thr172) and AMPK was determined by Western Blot. The results showed that adiponectin may exert direct anti-proliferative effects on HEC-1-A and RL95-2 cells by inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, which may be mediated by AMPK pathway.

AIM: To study the effects of cholecystokinin octapeptide (CCK-8) on T-lymphocyte subsets in keyhole limpet haemocyanin (KLH)-immunized mice.METHODS: Female BALB/c mice were immunized with KLH and injected with different dosages of CCK-8 or saline simultaneously. Positive CD4+and CD8+ T cells in peripheral blood or splenocytes were measured by flow cytometry. The production and mRNA level of Th1 cytokine, IFN-? and Th2 cytokine, IL-4 in the splenocytes were evaluated by ELISA and RT-PCR, respectively. In addition, lung tissue sections were made with HE staining.RESULTS: CCK-8 downregulated the positive CD4+and CD8+ T lymphocytes both in peripheral blood and in splenocytes in KLH-immunized mice, resulting in the reduction of CD4+/CD8+ ratio.CCK-8 improved the production of IFN-?, elevated IFN-? gene transcription, whereas cut down the production of IL-4, decreased IL-4 gene transcription. CCK-8 lightened the pulmonary inflammation induced by KLH.CONCLUSION: CCK-8 inhibits CD4+T lymphocytes activation, Th2 cytokine mRNA expression and protein production in KLH-immunized mice, indicating that CCK-8 modulates adaptive immune response.
