Red doctor’s culture shouldering the important mission of inheriting the red gene and the promotion of medical and health culture. As a multi-dimensional concept of cross-discipline and cross-domain， the cultural momentum space is a mechanical space for the dynamic development of culture. In the context of new era culture and new mission， taking red doctor’s culture as a mechanical space field， the paper analyzed the essential connotation of “why red doctor’s culture is new in the new era”. From the three vectors of diachrony， synchrony， and immediacy， this paper argued for the value implications of “why red doctor’s culture needs to be new in the new era”. The methodology of “how to promote the new of red doctor’s culture in the new era” was formed based on the integration and coherence of excellent medical and health cultures from ancient and modern times， both at home and abroad， combined with the actual laws and necessary rhythms of red medicine culture to push forward， used the internal and external driving forces to help the effective renewal of the space energy of the red doctor’s culture in the new era.

Volunteer spirit， as the epitome of responsibility awareness and the spirit of the times， is the spiritual quality that medical students in the new era should possess. The cultivation of the volunteer spirit of medical students is not only the era expansion of the Marxist doctrine of comprehensive development of human beings and the era embodiment of traditional Chinese medical ethics， but also the era practice of the centuries-old voluntary culture of the Communist Party of China. In the new era， strengthening the cultivation of the volunteer spirit of medical students is conducive to enriching the ideological and political education content of medical universities and colleges， improving the level of social civilization， and helping medical students to become outstanding physicians. Therefore， it is necessary to establish a comprehensive cultivation model of “school-individual-family-society” by transforming educational concepts， activating educational momentum， consolidating educational forces， expanding educational fields， and other paths， to make volunteer spirit become a powerful spiritual force for the growth and success of medical students.

Attaching importance to the ideological and political education of medical students is an important experience and political advantage for the vigorous development of health undertakings under the leadership of the Communist Party of China （CPC）. During the Yan’an period， the CPC put forward a series of theoretical principles and path methods to carry out the ideological and political education work for medical students， and formed a wealth of work experience. These were mainly manifested in the education direction of serving the Anti-Japanese War， the education content combining labor educational with ideological education， flexible and diverse educational methods， and the educational characteristics of education in medical ethics and medical style. In the new era and new journey， it is necessary to draw on the historical experience of ideological and political education work for medical students during the Yan’an period， cultivate a team of medical talents with both moral and talent， and provide strong and reliable talent support for high-quality development of the medical and health undertakings and a healthy China.

The unexpected COVID-19 brings a great challenge to the cultivation of medical students’ professional spirit. However, the traditional cultivation mode of professional spirit is single, which could not meet the urgent needs for cultivating high-quality medical talents. Therefore, under the background of epidemic prevention and control, the optimization of the cultivation path of medical students’ professional spirit should be carried out in the medical colleges and universities to adapt the development requirements of the era. Firstly, taking reshaping the top-level design of the school as the starting point, providing institutional guarantee, improving the curriculum and optimizing the teaching staff. Secondly, focusing on improving teaching process, optimizing teaching design, innovating teaching forms and establishing model education. Lastly, taking realize the unity of knowledge, emotion and intention of medical students as the foothold, strengthening the study of theoretical knowledge, participating in the construction of campus culture and social practice activities. The trinity cultivation model of "school-teachers-students" will be constructed to collaboratively promote the benign development of medical students’ professional spirit cultivation.
