Children with weak or absent capsular support requiring lens removal and intraocular lens implantation present
as one of the more challenging cases in pediatric ophthalmology practice. The authors present a case series with postoperative follow-up of at least five years after retropupillary fixation of iris-clipped lenses. All cases had improved visual acuity with only minor focal iris atrophy as complication in one case. Retropupillary fixation of iris-clipped IOL should be included in an ophthalmologist's armamentarium when operating on cases with weak or absent capsular support.

2.A Case of Spherophakia.

Spherophakia, also known as microphakia, is a bilateral condition wherein the lens is small and at the same time spherical in shape. As a simple anomaly it is very rare. Here we wish to report a case of spherophakia which is presented as an isolated anomaly along with the lens dislocation bilaterally. The authors successfully performmed bilateral intracapsular lens extraction under the general anesthesia. And the post-operative result was good.

3.Surgical Outcome of Familial Lens Dislocation in Two Families.

The congenital lens dislocation is a uncommon genetic disease, which is inherited autosomal dominant mannner and less likely autosomal recessive. The cause of the disease has not been fully understood although there are some hypothesis based on developmental anomaly. There are controversies about the management of the disease. In these days, early surgery is usually performed to prevent the compilcation. The authors experienced five patients in two families and three of them were operated with good results. They showed autosomal dominaot inheritance pattern. So, we present five cases of uncommon congenital lens dislocation with a brief review of literature.

4.Comment on the outcomes of surgical treatment for lens luxation

The study was conducted on 20 patients with bilateral lens luxation (40 eyes) and 30 patients with lateral lens luxation (30 eyes), total 70 eyes. All patients were under 25 years old. The results showed that using the vitrectomy Erbe device in lens luxation removal is application of advanced achievements in our condition. It allows achieving the best surgical outcome for lens luxation, giving facilities for inserting artificial lens in later and contributing to regaining the vision of patients. This technique can be applied in facilities where the vitrectomy devices are available for all patients with lens luxation who have indication of operation

5.Three Cases of Marfan's Syndrome.

Marfan's syndrome is a widespread disturbance of mesodermal tissue throughout the body. The main disturbances are characteristic skeletal anomaly, cardiopathy and eye disturbance such as lens dislocation, glaucoma, etc. Marfan originally described it under the name of dolichostenomelie in 1896. Since then, many cases have been reported in the literature. Authors experienced 3 cases of Marfan's syndrome and 2 cases were operated. 6.The Lens Dislocation into the Anterior Chamber in a case of Marfan's syndrome.

The authors experienced a case of Marfan's syndrome in whom the right sided lens was dislocated into the anterior chamber and the left side inferio-temporally into vitreous. 8.The vitrectomy in the treatment of the dislocation and luxation of lens after trauma

A study on 40 patients in the Traumatic Department of the National Institute of Ophthalmology was carried out. The results: 16 patients with ages of under 40, with the soft nuclear 1+, 2+ received a vitrectomy by pars-plana. 16 patients with the solid nuclear 3+, 4+ received an anterior segment vitrectomy in intravitreal surgery. 8 patients with the luxation of lens in to vitreous cell received the method of penetration for moving the lens to the anterior room and lens was removed via cornea combined with vitrectomy. 9.Retinal Detachment Associated with Probable Zonular Traction Tufts.

Zonular traction tufts, which exist in 15% of normal population, do not cause retinal detachment by themselves but they can cause traction retinal detaehment when there is traction force added. It is thought that the possibility of development of retinal detaehment increases especially when zonular traetion tufts originate posterior to the vitreous base No case of traction retinal detachment caused by zonular traction tufts has been reported. Here, we report one suspected case of traction retinal detachment induced by zonular traction tufts and lens subluxation.

10.Two Cases of Asteroid Hyalitis.

Asteroid hyalitis is a condition in which myriads of creamy or dull-white opacities (asteroid bodies) are suspended in the vitreous. Asteroid bodies are spherical or disc-shaped white bodies in the vitreous and were first differentiated from scyminans by Benson in 1894 as asteroid hyalitis (Benson's disease). The authors report here two cases of asteroid hyalitis: the first, a 55 year old male is associated with vitreoretinal hemorrhage, and the second, a 47 year old male is associated with cataract. Lens dislocation and pulmonary tuberculosis. They have no diabetes or hypercholesterolemla. We briefIy reviewed the literature relating to the asteroid hyalitis.
