Hemispatial neglect is a kind of cognitive impairment characterized by failure to report, respond or orient to stimuli presented in ipsi-or contra-lateral space after brain injury, which cannot be attributed to sensory or motor defects.Although there are various diagnosis and assessment methods, none is regarded as standard. The paper and pencil test is commonly used in routine clinical workup. The mechanism is controversial and the most accepted opinion is due to visuospatial attention defect.Imaging study focuses on exploring the functional regions leading to the hemispatial neglect. As functional imaging,SPECT and PET have capability to evaluate the perfusion, glucose metabolism and cellular vitality, which have been found increasingly useful and applicable clinically in the field of diagnosis for cognitive impairment diseases. They are likely to have potential for contribution in the study of hemispatial neglect.

The study is to report the establishment of a method of screening the antitumor compounds based on the dynamic bio-response profile of cells to make up for the shortages of conventional end-point tests such as tedious operation and low sensitivity. Based on the principle of electric impedance of cells, the real-time cell electronic sensing (RT-CES) system was used to monitor the effect of epirubicin (EPI), cisplatinum (DDP) and carboplatin (CBP) on the growth of HepG2 cells, with the cell index (CI), half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) and detachment curve as evaluation indexes. Meanwhile, cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) and microscopy were applied for verification. The results showed that CI curve could sensitively real-time profile the inhibitory effect of model drugs on HepG2 cells. The IC50 of EPI, DDP and CBP were 0.53 +/- 0.04, 9.79 +/- 0.26 and 597.00 +/- 3.79 microg x mL(-1), respectively. What's more, the significant differences of detachment curves of the three drugs indicated that their functional mechanisms might be different, this is consistent with the literature. The RT-CES system with non-invasive, label-free and real-time characteristics could be used to monitor the bio-response profile of the three drugs to HepG2 cells, allowing to qualitatively and quantitatively distinguish the antitumor activities of the three drugs, and could be a complementary method for the present screening of antitumor compounds.

This study aims at trying to establish a novel method of sterility test for injections based on biothermodynamics, in order to overcome the deficiencies of routine sterility tests such as long detecting cycle, low sensitivity and prone to misjudgments. A biothermodynamics method was adopted to rapidly detect the microorganism contamination of injections by monitoring the heat metabolism during the growth of microbe. The growth rate equal to or greater than zero and the heat power difference of P(i) and P(0) with three folds higher than the noise of baseline were chosen as indexes to study the heat change rule of microbe. In this way, the effectiveness of the new method to detect strains required by conventional sterility test or in injection samples was also investigated. Results showed that the Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and fungi demanded by sterility testing methodology could be detected by biothermodynamics method within 10 hours, with the sensitivity lower than 100 CFU x mL(-1). Meanwhile, this method was successfully applied to the sterility test of Compound Yinchen injection (FFYC), Shuanghuanglian powder injection (SHL) and Compound Triamcinolone injection (TAND) which were sterilized with different degrees. Therefore, the biothermodynamics method, with advantages of fast detection and high sensitivity, could be a complementary solution for conventional sterility tests.

Objective:To detect the expression of BTLA on Treg cells of HIV-infected patients and investigate the role of BTLA in HIV infection. Methods: Forty-four HIV-1-infected patients (twenty-four early HIV infection, fourteen chronic HIV-infected patients with CD4+ T counts> 200 cells/μl,AIDS patients with CD4+T counts<200 cells/μl) and nine healthy people served as normal controls were selected to detect the expression of BTLA on Treg cells by flow cytometry. The correlations between BTLA expression on Treg cells and disease progression or immune activation were studied. Results: There was a higher percentage of BTLA on Treg cells in chronic HIV patients and AIDS patients than that in early HIV infected patients(P<0.05,P<0.01),and the expression of BTLA on Treg cells in AIDS patients was higher than that in normal controls(P<0.05).The expression of BTLA on Treg cells was negatively correlated with CD4+T lymphocyte counts and positively correlated with viral load (P<0.001,P<0.01).The percentage of BTLA on Treg cells was positively correlated with CD4+CD38+T lymphocytes and CD4+HLA-DR+T lymphocytes(P<0.001,P<0.001).Conclusion: Increased BTLA expression on HIV-infected Treg cells is associated with disease progression, suggesting that it may accelerate disease progression by enhancing Treg cells inhibitory function and may provide intervention information for HIV infection in the future.

BACKGROUND:This review explores the current research status and frontier hot spots of functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)in the field of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)for the treatment of ischemic stroke, and attempts to grasp future research trends, with a view to providing a reference for subsequent research in this field. OBJECTIVE:To visualize and analyze the hotspots and frontiers in the TCM treatment of ischemic stroke based on fMRI using CiteSpace knowledge mapping combined with binary logistic regression equations,in order to grasp the future research trends and further explore the distribution of brain regions with abnormal neural activity related to the types of post-stroke dysfunction. METHODS:CNKI,WanFang,VIP,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database and Web of Science core set database were searched.CiteSpace was used to plot keyword co-occurrence,keyword clustering timeline, burst term detection,co-cited literature mapping to analyze hotpots and frontiers in this field.Binary logistic regression analysis fitted the distribution of brain regions with abnormal neural activity associated with different dysfunction after ischemic stroke. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:A total of 354 articles were included for CiteSpace knowledge mapping analysis. The number of annual publications showed that the research popularity has been raised from 2000 to 2022 with a good development prospect, but the core strength is mainly concentrated in China. Keywords co-occurrence and clustering time line analysis showed that aphasia, hemiplegia and cognitive impairment are the hot poststroke dysfunction types.Electroacupuncture, acupuncture and head acupuncture are hotspot intervention measures.Functional connectivity is a hotspot analysis method, and resting fMRI is a hotspot scanning technology. The time span of each research hotspot is long, indicating that it has a certain research value and the relevant research is gradually deepening, promoting the research progress in this field. However, acupuncture is the main intervention measure, and there is a lack of research on traditional Chinese medicine,Chinese patent medicine, acupuncture and medicine combination and other TCM therapy.Burst term detection results showed that functional connectivity, graph theory, degree centrality, default mode network, randomized controlled trials have great influence and strong explosive power. They are the current and future frontier hot spots in this field, suggesting that future research should focus on the brain network information integration and strengthen the scientific and rigorous clinical trial design. The results of co-cited literature analysis showed that the epidemiological investigation of ischemic stroke, the safety and effectiveness of acupuncture in the treatment of stroke, the brain activation patterns under different tasks, and the neuropathological mechanism of brain network dysfunction after stroke are the theoretical basis of this field.Future research direction in this field is to explore TCM-targeted brain regions and neural networks to reveal the brain effect mechanism of TCM promoting neural remodeling after stroke.A total of 255 articles were included for binary Logistic regression analysis. The results showed that sensorimotor cortex and premotor area dysfunction are positively correlated with the incidence of motor dysfunction after stroke;hippocampus, cerebellum posterior lobe, precuneus, inferior temporal gyrus and anterior cingulate nerve dysfunction are positively correlated with the incidence of cognitive impairment after stroke;cuneus, angular gyrus and prefrontal lobe neural dysfunction were positively correlated with the incidence of affective disorder after stroke;anterior cingulate, cerebellum posterior lobe neural dysfunction are positively correlated with the incidence of swallowing disorder after stroke. The above brain regions are the core brain regions of the sensorimotor network, default mode network and reward loop, suggesting that functional abnormalities within or between brain networks related to dysfunction may be potential target areas for TCM intervention, but the specific changes in neural activity activation or inhibition still need to be refined.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between clinicopathological features and central lymph nodes metastasis in patients with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC),and aim to provide an appropriate operation in clinic. Methods The clinical data of 536 patients undergoing surgical treatment in Department of Thyroid Surgery, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2015 to December 2017,who had pathologically confirmed popillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) were retrospectively analyzed.Thyroidectomy and isthmectomy with central compartment neck dissection were performed in all patients. The patients were divided into two groups according to whether there existed central lymph node metastasis, and compared the differences of gender, age, number of cancer lesions, tumor breakthrough envelope,BRAFV600E gene mutation, and tumor maximum diameter in the central lymph node metastasis, respectively,by t-test x2-test.Univariate logistic regression analysis and multivariate binary logistic regression analysis were conducted to find risky factors. Results There existed difference between two groups by completing the gender, age, the BRAFV600E gene mutation and maximal tumor diameter(P < 0.05).Univariate logistic regression analysis indicated that gender (P =0.046),age (P < 0.01),maximal tumor diameter(P <0.01) and the BRAFV600E gene mutation(P =0.016) were significant predictors for central lymph nodes metastasis. And multivariate binary logistic regression analysis revealed that the rate of lymph node metastasis significantly increased in cases of larger tumor diameter(P <0.01),BRAFV600E gene mutation(P =0.035) and ageing below 45 years old (P < 0.01).Conclusions The treatment for central lymph node metastasis of PTMC should be different considering elements including BRAF600E gene mutation prophylactic, ageing below 45 years old and larger tumor diameter. Therefore central lymphadenectomy should be performed when the primary lesion was resected.
