1.Neuroprotective effect of acteoside against MPTP-induced mouse model of Parkinsons disease
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(01):-
Aim To study the neuroprotective effect of Acteoside against MPTP-induced mouse model of Parkinsons disease (PD) and its mechanism. Methods The behavioral testing of C57 mice was assessed using spontaneous movement and rotarod test. DA levels in striatum were measured using HPLC-EC. Dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra were observed by immunohistochemical staining with an anti-Tyroxine hydroxylase (TH) antibody. Moreover, the mechanism of the neuroprotective effect of acteoside was investigated using Western blot analysis with an anti-?-synuclein antibody in the substantia nigra and striatum. Results ① Compared with control, MPTP lesion significantly reduced the number of spontaneous movement and latent period of mice on the rotating rod (both P

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(2):277-282
BACKGROUND:Application of mechanical valve and bioprosthetic valve replacement is an effective means for the treatment of end-stage valve disease. However, their clinical application is constrained by multiple factors. Tissue-engineered heart valves with biological activity hold the potential to overcome the defect of the mechanical valves and bioprosthetic valves. Choosing appropriate cells for cellseeding is a significant aspect for the research of tissue-engineered heart valves. A growing number of somatic cells and stem cells have been used for construction of tissue-engineered heart valves, however, not yet achieve the desired result.
OBJECTIVE:To review the studies on seed cells for tissue-engineered heart valves and the cellseeding methods in vitro on the basis of the cellular components of heart valves.
METHODS:First author searched PubMed and Wanfang database with computer for related articles published from January 2000 to December 2012. The keywords were“tissue engineering, heart valves, cel”. Preferred articles concerned seed cells of tissue-engineered heart valves with the relevance and authority. A total of 39 articles published in the prestigious journals were reviewed.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Endothelial cells and interstitial cells were mainly valvular cellular components. In the early stage, endothelial cells and fibroblasts were used to construct tissue-engineered heart valves. With deep stem cellresearch, the application of pulsatile bioreactor cultivation mesenchymal stem cells holds a great potential to produce tissue-engineered heart valves.

Objective To understand the microcystin(MC-LR)pollution in drinking water in the city and countryside of Fuling District,Sichuan,China. Methods In 2004,285 water samples were collected from different types of water in Fuling district in different season and the concentration of LR(MC-LR),total phosphorus and total nitrogen in water were determined respectively. Results From July to November in 2004,no LR(MC-LR)was detected and the total phosphorus and total nitrogen did not exceed the national standard limits in the drinking water in the city, but in the secondary water supply in the city, the MC-LR was detected, the total phosphorus and total nitrogen exceed the standard limits. In the countryside, the MC-LR was detected, the total phosphorus and total nitrogen exceed the standard limits. Conclusion In the countryside of Fuling District,Sichuan,China, the drinking water, water source and tap water, was seriously contaminated by microcystin, the total phosphorus and total nitrogen exceed the national standard limits.

AIM: To study the analgesia and anti-inflammation effects o f aspirin-niacinamide-zinc complex (WUY). METHODS: In this study , the mice ear swelling, vascular permeability increasing and rats’ paw edema w ere adopted to evaluate the anti-inflammable effects of WUY. And the analgesic effects of WUY were tested by writhing reaction and hot-plate method. R ESULTS: In high and low dose groups of WUY, the degrees of ear swelling were 3.3 and 2.8 mg, the Evans blue induced effusion were 3.1 and 1.2 mg?L -1, and the paw edema volume (1-4 h) were 0.21- 0.13 and 0.23- 0.08 ml, respectively. WUY ( 0.3 and 0.45 mmol?kg -1) prolonged incubation period of hot-plate reaction and showed marked i nhibition effects on writhing induced by acetic acid in mice. CONCLUSION : The analgesic and anti-inflammable effects of WUY are stronger than t hat of ASP.

AIM: To study the effects of aspirin-niacinamide-zinc complex (WUY) on platelet aggregation and experimental thrombosis. METHODS: With adenosine diphosphatethe (ADP), arachidonic acid (AA) and collagen, the effects of aspirin-niacinamide-zinc complex (WUY) on platelet aggregation in vitro or in vivo were investigated by Born's method. The mouse mortality caused by intravenous injection of AA and experimental thrombus formation in rats were observed. Radioimmunoassay was used for measuring thromboxane B_2 (TXB_2) and 6-keto-PGF_(1?) in plasma of rabbits. RESULTS: In high, middle and low dose groups, drugs, in vitro, inhibited ADP-, AA-and collagen-induced platelet aggregation and the effect of WUY was stronger than that of ASP in high dose groups. In vivo, WUY showed more potent inhibitory effects on AA-induced aggregation in 1 h and 3 h. WUY had a powerful inhibitory effect on mouse death as a result of pulmonary thrombi induced by AA injection into the tail vein and ED_(50) was lower than that of ASP. In addition, WUY exhibited strong inhibitory effect on thrombus formation in rat arteri-venous shunt and significantly reduced plasma level of TXB_2 while it markedly increasing 6-keto-PGF_(1?) in high dose groups and ASP significantly reduced plasma level of both TXB_2 and 6-keto-PGF_(1?). CONCLUSION: The effect of WUY on platelet aggregation and experimental thrombosis is stronger than that of ASP and can increase plasma level of 6-keto-PGF_(1?).

A strain,Actinobacillus succinogenes CGMCC 1593,producing succinic acid was isolated from bovin rumen, which could pro- duces succinic acid by anaerobic fermentation.A series of morphological and biochemical characteristics and sequence analysis of 16S rDNA reveal that it belongs to Actinobacillus succinogenes. When cultured anaerobically in medium containing 60 g/L glucose as carbon source, the strain produces 25.8 g/L of succnic acid.

Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(03):-
An statistical analysis of aorta-septal angle(AS angle) between anterior wall of aorta and ventricular septum was taken,AS angle was measured fromthe right ventricle with long-axis, two-dimensional echocardiongram of the left ventricle in 227 consecutive cases of patients with cardiovascular diseases and 80 healthy adults since 1985. It was found that AS angle for normal adults at the end of systoie(ES) and the end of diastole(ED) being 118.50?? 7.70? and 110.60??8.23?; the difference between ES and ED was 7.89??4.51?. In patients with overburdening of left ventricular volume and resistance of coronary artery disease, car-diomycpathy and hypertension , AS angles were amaller, and in patients with overburdening of right ventricular pressure of rheumatic mitral stenosis, AS angles were larger than healthy adults. The difference between ES and ED was smaller than normal for all patients. It was also found that in patients with heartdisease AS angle tends to be smaller or larger before the appearance of abnormality of the left ventricular cavity. Our data suggested that AS angle variance might afford some clinical significance of diagnosis
