Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(08):-
Objective To observe the expression of bag-1 and heat shock protein (HSP) 70 in clinical malignant tumors and the correlation between them. Methods RT-PCR and Immunohistochemistry were employed to examine the expression of bag-1 and HSP70 in 69 cases with gastroenteric cancer (54 cancer tissues and 15 non-cancer tissues). Results The expression of Bag-1 was detected in 96.3% of the cases, much higher than that in the control group (P0.05), and no correlation was observed between histological grade and HSP 70 expression. Conclusion There exists definite relationship between the gastroenteric cancer and the expression of bag-1 and HSP70, and there are close correlation between the tumor progress and the expression of bag-1.

Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2016;35(2):156-158
Objective To investigate the association between depression and clinical outcomes in elderly patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).Methods Four hundred and fifty-one patients aged ≥ 60 years undergoing PCI in cardiovascular department of Anyang People's Hospital from January 2012 to June 2014 were prospectively analyzed in this study.Patients were divided into PCI without (SDS<50) and with (SDS≥50) depressiongroup. They were tested by the self-rating depression scale (SDS) at discharge, and followed up for 1 year. And the 1-year mortality was compared between two groups.Multivariable Logistic regression analysis was used to confirm the independent risk factors for the 1-year mortality. Results The 1-year mortality was higher in PCI with depression group than in PCI without depression group (8.9oo vs.3.9%,P=0.035).As compared with PCI patients without depression,PCI patients with depression showed the increased odds ratio (2.55,95% CI:1.05 ~ 6.17,P=0.039) for 1-year mortality by multivariable Logistic regression analysis. Conclusions Depression is an independent predictor for mortality in elderly patients undergoing PCI.

Eight-weeks old C57BL/6J male mice were treated with normal or high fat diet for4 weeks, and then bone mass, number and activity of osteoclasts, differentiation of osteoblasts from bone marrow mesenchymal cells and the change in lipid genes expression were studied.Compared with the normal diet treated group, bone mass of femur from high fat diet treated animal was decreased, but there were increased number and activity of osteoclasts and raised lipid genes expression levels.Besides,no obvious change was found in differentiation of osteoblasts from bone marrow mesenchymal cells. The loss of bone mass induced with high fat diet in young mice was mainly due to increased activity of osteoclasts and bone resorption.

With the maturation of laparoscopic surgical technology and the development of surgical instruments, the scope of application for laparoscopie surgery has expanded constantly in recent years. It is now possible to perform total laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy (TLDP).Cuschieri succeeded in performing laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy and slpenectomy in 1996,and in the same year,Kimura successfully performed spleen-preserving laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy. However, few successful spleen-preserving TLDP cases have been reported domestically or abroad. We made a success in a case of spleenpreserving TLDP with preservation of the splenic artery and vein in 2011,and the experiences of this surgical approach were introduced.

CardiovascuIar disease is the number one cause for morbidity and mortaIity worIdwide. Possi-biIities for new therapies in the emerging fieId of cardiac signaIIing prompted extensive research on myocardiaI re-modeIIing over the past decades. In this review,we as-sembIe an overview of the recent findings on the muIti-functionaI enzyme,p21-activated kinase 1( Pak1),a member of a serine/ threonine protein kinase famiIy in the heart, particuIarIy its cardiac protective effects. We pres-ent a modeI for Pak1 signaIing that provides a mecha-nism for specificaIIy affecting cardiac ceIIuIar processes. We discuss its cardiac protective effects such as anti-hy-pertrophy,anti-ischaemic injury and roIe in maintaining ventricuIar Ca2+ homeostasis and eIectrophysioIogicaI stabiIity under physioIogicaI, β-adrenergic and hyper-trophic stress conditions. We aIso discuss the potentiaIs of Pak1 activation by naturaIIy occurring sphingosine and its anaIogues FTY720,and bioactive peptides designed to diminish Pak1 auto-inhibition as noveI thera-peutics for major cardiovascuIar diseases.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of oxycodone for painless gastroscopy in pediatric patients when combined with propofol. Methods Sixty pediatric patients of either sex, aged 2-7 yr,weighing 10-28 kg,of American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ,scheduled for elective painless gastroscopy, were divided into 2 groups (n=30 each) using a random number table:oxycodone group (O group) and sufentanil group (F group). The pediatric patients held by their parents entered the gastroscopy room, and propofol 1.5-2.0 mg/kg and penehyclidine hydrochloride 0.3 mg were intravenously injected.Oxycodone 0.1 mg/kg and sufentanil 0.1 μg/kg were intravenously injected in O and F groups, respectively. When body movement occurred during operation, additional propofol 1.0 mg/kg was intravenously injected. The occurrence of adverse reactions such as intraoperative body movement, laryngospasm and respiratory depression was recorded. The occurrence of postoperative vomiting and pain (FLACC pain scale scores >3) was also recorded. Results The incidence of intraoperative body movement, laryngospasm and respiratory depression and postoperative pain was significantly lower in O group than in F group (P<0.05).Conclusion When combined with propofol, oxycodone produces better efficacy than sufentanil for painless gastroscopy in pediatric patients.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2009;29(1):64-7
Voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs) are known to be involved in the initiation and progression of many malignancies, and the different subtypes of VGSCs play important roles in the metastasis cascade of many tumors. This study investigated the functional expression of Nav1.5 and its effect on invasion behavior of human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231. The mRNA and protein expression of Nav1.5 was detected by real time PCR, Western Blot and immunofluorescence. The effects of Nav1.5 on cell proliferation, migration and invasion were respectively assessed by MTT and Transwell. The effects of Nav1.5 on the secretion of matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) by MDA-MB-231 were analyzed by RT-PCR. The over-expressed Nav1.5 was present on the membrane of MDA-MB-231 cells. The invasion ability in vitro and the MMP-9 mRNA expression were respectively decreased to (47.82+/-0.53)% and (43.97+/-0.64)% (P<0.05) respectively in MDA-MB-231 cells treated with VGSCs specific inhibitor tetrodotoxin (TTX) by blocking Nav1.5 activity. It was concluded that Nav1.5 functional expression potentiated the invasive behavior of human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231 by increasing the secretion of MMP-9.
