OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of gastric dynamics by transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) combined general anesthesia when controlled hypotension dropped to 60% of the mean arterial prenssure (MAP) baseline, and to provide experimental evidence for organ protection in clinical controlled hypotension.
METHODSEighteen male beagles were randomly divided into three groups, the general anesthesia group (blank), the general anesthesia induced controlled hypotension group (control), and the general anesthesia combined TEAS induced controlled hypotension group (experiment), 6 in each group. Controlled hypotension was performed in the latter two groups with isoflurane inhalation and intravenous injection of sodium nitroprusside (SNP). The mean arterial pressure (MAP) was lowered to 60% of the MAP baseline and kept for 60 min. Controlled hypotension was not performed in Beagles of the control group. For Beagles in the experiment group, TEAS [2/100 Hz, (4 ± 1) mA] was applied to bilateral Hegu (LI4), Quchi (LI11), Zusanli (ST36), and Sanyinjiao (SP6) from stable physiological conditions to the end of maintaining stages. Changes of EGG frequencies and EGG amplitudes were monitored. Serum levels of gastrin (GAS) and motilin (MTL) were also detected at corresponding time points during and after experiment.
RESULTSAs for the pressure control effect of TEAS combined general anesthesia in the controlled hypotension, during the process of controlled hypotension (T1-T4), MAP levels of two controlled pressure groups remained relatively stable, and were kept at 60% of the MAP baseline. When the blood pressure dropped to the target low MAP and maintained at 60 min (T1-T4), EGG amplitudes of Beagles in all the three groups showed decreasing tendency. But it was more obviously lower than its basic level in the control group (P <0.05), while it was not obviously decreased in the experiment group (P < 0.05). EGG frequencies of Beagles in all the three groups showed no obvious change during this stage. By the end of the MAP rising stage (T8), the EGG amplitude of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group and the blank group (P < 0.05), while it didn' t show any obvious increase in the control group. During this period, EGG frequencies of the two controlled hypotension groups decreased more than those of the blank group. Two h after rising blood pressure (at T9), EGG amplitudes and frequencies in the two controlled hypotension groups basically restored to their respective baselines and levels of the blank group at T9. At 2 h (T9) after controlled hypotension, serum levels of GAS and MTL were lower than those of basic levels in the two controlled hypotension groups (P <0.05). However, serum levels of GAS and MTL had an increasing trend in the two controlled hypotension groups at 24-72 h (T10-T12). Besides, the increasing speed and amplitude was better in experiment group than in the control group at T10-T12. However, there was no statistical difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). At 72 h (T12) serum levels of GAS and MTL had basically restored to their basic levels in the two controlled hypotension groups and that of the blank control group.
CONCLUSIONEGG amplitudes could be effectively improved in TEAS combined general anesthesia for controlled hypotension at 60% of the MAP baseline, the recovery of the serum GAS level accelerated, gastric power improved and stomach protected.

To evaluate the regulating effect of Buyang Huanwu decoction and its simple prescription (Naojian tablet) on CDK4/Cyclin D1 expression in hippocampus tissues of rats with cerebral ischemia, SD rats were divided into the sham-operation group, the model group, the Buyang Huanwu decoction group (ig, 3.15 g · kg⁻¹) and the simple prescription group (ig, 2.41 g · kg⁻¹). Each group was further divided into five subgroups based on time points after the administration, i. e. 1 d, 3 d, 7 d, 14 d and 28 d, respectively. CDK4/Cyclin D1 expressions of the group at different time points were examined by using immunohistochemistry and real-time qPCR. According to the results, the cerebral ischemia model group showed higher CDK4/Cyclin D1 expression than the sham-operation groups (P < 0.05), suggesting that the cell cycle signal pathway would be activated by the cerebral ischemic injury. Both Buyang Huanwu decoction and simple prescription groups showed significantly lower cyclin expression than the model group at 3 d, 7 d, 14 d, 28 d (P < 0.05), indicating both Buyang Huanwu decoction and its simple prescription could play the neuroprotective effect through the cell cycle signal pathway.

BACKGROUND:In early experiments, we prepared hydroxyapatite-coated mechanical heart valve embedded with col agen using impulse laser sediment method.
OBJECTIVE:To further analyze the histocompatibility and toxicity of hydroxyapatite-coated mechanical heart valve embedded with col agen.
METHODS:After passage, canine vascular endothelial cellsuspension was inoculated onto the hydroxyapatite-coated mechanical heart valve embedded with col agen. One group was inoculated in 5%CO2, 37 ℃ incubator for 3 weeks static culture, and the other group was inoculated in 5%CO 2 , 37 ℃ incubator for 3 weeks spinner culture. Scanning electron microscope was used to observe cellattachment on the material. 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay was used to the proliferative capacity of vascular endothelial cells cultured with the hydroxyapatite-coated mechanical heart valve embedded with col agen.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:During the spinner culture, adherent cells were found on the surface of mechanical heart valve, and the cells distributed evenly and confluent at 21 days to cover the surface of the material. The number of adherent cells in the spinner culture was higher than that in the static culture. The cells during the static culture were aggregated and distributed irregularly. The mechanical heart valve exhibited no effects on the proliferation of canine vascular endothelial cells which grew wel . These findings indicate that the hydroxyapatite-coated mechanical heart valve embedded with col agen exert no effect on proliferation of vascular endothelial cells, has no toxicity and has good biocompatibility.

OBJECTIVETo understand the features of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings and the results of clinical follow-up study in 8 infants and children with hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD) complicated with acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) who were admitted to Beijing Ditan Hospital during the outbreak of HFMD in 2008.
METHODSThe clinical characteristics of the 8 HFMD cases were investigated, and MRI findings were analyzed. The recovery of their impairment in limbs was followed up for three months.
RESULTSAll the 8 cases showed poliomyelitis-like syndrome. MRI of spinal cord showed unilateral or bilateral hyperintense lesions which chiefly occurred in the anterior horn regions of the spinal cord (C(2)-C(7) or T(12)-L(1)) on T(1)/T(2)-weighted images. Lesions of spinal cord chiefly occurred in T(12)-L(1). Most of the cases showed mild paralysis, which occurred in more than half of cases in single lower extremity. The patients who had acute paralysis of single lower extremity recovered faster than those with paralysis of four limbs.
CONCLUSIONSIn HFMD with AFP cases, MRI of spinal cord showed unilateral or bilateral lesions in the anterior horn regions of the spinal cord (C(2)-C(7) or T(12)-L(1)) on T(1)/T(2)-weighted images. AFP may be to some degree reversible in HFMD cases. MRI can directly and completely show the range and degree of changes associated with AFP in HFMD cases, thus provide instructive suggestions to its treatment. The acute paralysis of HFMD cases may be benefited from earlier treatment for AFP.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2019;31(2):124-127
Objective :
To evaluate the risk of cardiovascular disease in hypertensive patients managed by communities in Tongxiang in the next 10 years, and to provide evidence for the development of cardiovascular disease prevention strategies.
Methods:
The information about hypertensive patients managed by communities was collected from Tongxiang resident health records management system. The risk of ischemic cardiovascular disease(ICVD)in the next 10 years was assessed by the Assessment Scale of 10-Year ICVD Risk in Chinese.
Results:
A total of 27 173 hypertensive patients managed by communities with complete data were recruited, including 11 868 males, accounting for 43.68%,and 15 305 females, accounting for 56.32%. The median(inter-quartile range)of the total scores of 10-year ICVD risk in hypertensive patients was 8.00(3.00),with 9.00(2.00)in males and 8.00(2.00)in females. The total scores of 10-year ICVD risk in males was significantly higher than those in females(P<0.05). A total of 8 764 patients had high 10-year ICVD risk, accounting for 32.25%. The proportion of high10-year ICVD risk in females with hypertension was higher than that in males(P<0.05). The weights of ICVD risk factors in males were 54.58% in age,17.42% in systolic blood pressure,14.27% in smoking,7.77% in body mass index,4.51% in total cholesterol and 1.45% in diabetes;the ones in females were 63.57% in age,14.63% in systolic blood pressure,9.81% in body mass index,6.00% in total cholesterol,5.88% in diabetes and 0.11% in smoking.
Conclusion
The ICVD risk of hypertensive patients managed by communities in Tongxiang is higher in the next 10 years. Male patients should focus on the control of blood pressure and smoking, while female patients should focus on the control of blood pressure and body weight.
