Thirty-eight cases of allergic rhinitis has been treated by puncturing the points of Yintang (Ex-HN 3), Yingxiang (LI 20), Feishu (BL 13), Fengchi (GB 20), Shangxing (GV 23), Hegu (LI 4) and so on, combined with massaging the head, face and trunk. The result showed that cure occurred in 16cases, marked effectiveness in 18 cases and ineffectiveness in 4 cases.

To search for the best method in treating prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc, the cases of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc were treated by Tuina plus acupuncture. The cure rate was high, the course of treatment was short and the effect was satisfactory. Tuina can relax muscles and tendons,promote the blood circulation, acupuncture can warm the meridians to disperse cold pathogen, promote the blood circulation to remove blood stasis, and the combination of these two treatments can enhance the therapeutic effect.

AIM:To compare the effect of three types of pterygium surgery and on tear film in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. ·METHODS:A total of 102 patients ( 102 eyes ) with pterygium combined with type 2 diabetes mellitus treated in our hospital from March 2013 to March 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into three groups including the 34 cases ( 34 eyes ) with simple excision of pterygium ( resection group ) , pterygium excision combined with conjunctival flap transplantation in 34 cases (34 eyes, as conjunctival flap group ) and pterygium excision combined with limbal stem cell transplantation in 34 cases ( 34 eyes, as stem cell group ) . The wound repair time, complications, recurrence rate, uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), tear film break-up time ( BUT ) and basal tear secretion test (SⅠt) were observed before, and 6 and 12mo after surgery in the three groups, respectively. ·RESULTS:The postoperative UCVA of the three groups was significantly higher than that preoperation ( P =0. 039, 0. 013, 0. 024 ), and there was no significant difference among the three groups ( P = 0. 317 ). The wound repair time was 5. 67 ± 1. 45d in the resection group, which was significantly higher than that in the conjunctival flap group (4. 18 ± 0. 76d) and the stem cell group (4. 09±0. 79 d) (P<0. 001), there was no significant difference between the conjunctival flap group and the stem cell group ( P = 0. 937 ). There were 4 cases in resection group reappeared, and the recurrence rate was 11. 8%, which was significantly higher than the other two groups ( P = 0. 037 ). There were 1 recurrences in the conjunctival flap group, and the recurrence rate was 2. 9%, while the patients in the stem cell group had no obvious recurrence. SⅠt and BUT increased significantly after operation (P<0. 05), especially in conjunctival flap group and stem cell group (P<0. 001). There was no significant difference between the conjunctival flap group and the stem cell group (P=0. 845, 0. 894). · CONCLUSION: Pterygium excision combined with conjunctival flap transplantation or limbal stem cell transplantation for the treatment of type 2 diabetic patients with normal blood glucose and tear film function has the similar effect, and is better than simple pterygium excision.

To investigate the curative effect of electroacupuncture on hip osteoarth-ritis, 120patients with hip osteoarthritis were randomly divided into two groups, 60 cases each group, and treated by electroacupuncture and oral administration of slow released diclofenac tablet,respectively. The degrees of pain, activity and swelling were observed in both groups before and after treatments. A follow-up was performed for more than 2 years. The curative effects were assessed by JOA criteria for evaluating the effect on hip osteoarthritis. After treatment, the average score increased by 18 marks in the electroacupuncture group and by 12.3 marks in the diclofenac group (P<0.05). Electroacupuncture treatment has a significantly better effect on hip osteoarthritis than oral administration of slow released diclofenac tablet.

Flavonoids are a class of important active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine, pharmacological activity and in vivo process is the focus of research in recent years. Calycosin is the main active ingredients of flavonoids in Astragali Radix, recent studies indicate that it has many kinds of pharmacological activity, but the absorption and transport characteristics in vivo is unclear. The experiment using Caco-2 cell model, with apigenin as internal standard substance, using the method for the determination of drug concentration by HPLC, were studied at different concentrations and absorption transport characteristics of respectively adding different types of protein inhibitors. Data were analyzed by Q test, the results show that low, middle, high concentration of P(app)(BL-AP)/ P(app)(AP-BL) = 1.38 < 1.5, respectively adding different types of protein inhibitors, compared with the control group of P(app)(BL-AP)/ P(app)(AP-BL), there were no significant differences. Calycosin absorption may mainly passive transport, also involved in active transport mechanism, the transport may not be affected by the P-protein, MRP2 protein, SGLT protein.

Associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) is a breakthrough in the field of hepatobiliary surgery.The remnant liver regeneration was stimulated during the first stage of the operation,and the radical resection of the tumor could be successfully carried out during the second stage of the operation.ALPPS is a new approach for patients with tumor which is previously considered unresectable during one hospital stay.In April 2014,a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the right liver and liver cirrhosis was admitted to the Southwest Hospital.Preoperative examination confirmed that the ratio of the remnant liver volume to the standard liver volume was 26.9％,which indicated that the patient was inappropriate to receive radical resection of HCC.Therefore,totally laparoscopic ALPPS was applied.In the first stage of the operation,the portal vein ligation associated with liver hanging tape placement and in situ splitting of liver were carried out after hanging the Glisson's pedicle under the laparoscope.Thirteen days after the first stage of the operation,the ratio of the remnant liver volume to the standard liver volume was 40.6％.The second stage of the operation was carried out 14 days after the first stage of the operation.The right hepatic pedicle and right hepatic vein were transected with a stapler.The tumor was removed after full mobilization of the right liver.The distance between the resection margin to the tumor was 1.5 cm.No complications were detected after the first stage of the operation,while the patient was complicated with pleural effusion after the second stage of the operation and was cured by pleural puncture and drainage.The patient was discharged at postoperative day 9 and followed up at postoperative month 1.The results of follow-up confirmed that the hepatic function was normal,and no mass occupying lesions and pleural effusion were detected.Totally laparoscopic ALPPS is safe and feasible with satisfactory short-term efficacy.

Objective To investigate the effects of low frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) applied to the supplementary motor area (SMA) of children with Tourette's syndrome (TS). Methods Thirty TS subjects less than 16 years old were treated with 1 Hz rTMS to the SMA at 110％ of the resting motor threshold (RMT) in 20 daily sessions,receiving 1200 pulses/day.Clinical assessment and physiological measures of the left and right RMT were conducted at different time points during the treatment. ResultsAfter 4 weeks of treatment,statistically significant reductions were observed in assessments with the Yale global tic severity scale (YGTSS) and in terms of clinical global impression (CGI).Symptomatic improvement was correlated with dramatic increases in both right and left RMTs. ConclusionApplication of 1 Hz rTMS to the SMA can improve the clinical symptoms of TS children.

Objective To explore the factors relating to serum lutein level in elderly patients with early age-related macular degeneration (AMD).Methods 102 early AMD patients diagnosed by international diagnostic criteria were selected.The level of serum lutein was measured by HPLC,and dietary intake was estimated by food-frequency questionnaire (FFQ).The factors relating to serum lutein level were analyzed by Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis models.Results Serum lutein level was higher in female AMD patients than in male AMD patients [(0.33±0.31) μmol/L vs.(0.21 ±0.19) μmol/L,t=2.21,P＜0.05].Serum lutein level was positively correlated with dietary lutein (r=0.49,P＜ 0.001),but not correlated with age,BMI,and other nutrient intake after adjustment for caloric intake.Dietary lutein was mainly from corn,spinach,leeks,eggs,chrysanthemum,pumpkin,broccoli,lettuce,asparagus and peas.Intakes of spinach,pumpkin,asparagus were significantly associated with serum lutein level.Conclusions Elderly patients with AMD should increase the intakes of lutein-rich vegetables to increase the serum lutein level.
