1.The fourth bronchial pouch fistula and analysis of 20 cases
Journal of Medical Research 2000;13(3):3-8
The fourth bronchial pouch fistulae is the lesion of the fourth bronchial-pharyngeal duct in development of the embryo. 20 cases of this disease were diagnosed, operated and followed-up in the institute of ENT, from 1995 to 1997. 11 females and 9 males were affected; It manifested itself by recurrent episodes neck abscess, especially on the left side (95%). 13 fistulous tracts were found on operation with 86% of retrocartilaginous course.

2.The congenital bronchial fistula of lateral neck, an analysis of 24 cases
Journal of Medical Research 1998;7(3):10-14
Bronchial cleft abnormalities are the results of defects in development in neck area of the embryo. They are uncommon clinical problems that can be difficult for diagnosis and treatment. A serie of 24 cases observed in the institute of ENT (1995 - 1999) with bronchial cleft fistula are debated. The primary symtom of 2nd bronchial cleft fistula is a congennital latero-cervical fistula, but the primary symtom of 3,4 grade bronchial fistula is a tumefaction located at the middle third of neck. Complete resection of these fistulas avoid relapse

3.Features of hemoglobin in stieng minority in Binh Duong province
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;233(2):14-16
On studying 147 hemoglobin electrophoresis samples of the Stieng community, we refound that hemoglobin varieties distributed as following: - HbE: 54.45% including HbE homozygous: 6.12%; HbAe: 41.5% and -thal/HbE: 6.8%.- -thal: only -thal/HbE (-thal/HbE: 4.08%, -thal/HbE, 2.72%). -Normal cases: 45.58%. These results shown that HbE ratio is very height in Stieng community, it is necessary to have the special investigations to find out the causes

5.Long-term outcome of radioactive I-131 in the treatment of patients with hyperthyroidism in Lam Dong General hospital
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):15-19
We set out to analyse the result of 142 hyperthyroidsm patients, treated with radioiodine from 1987 to 1997, and still on follow-up by the Depar. of Nuclear medicine, Lam Dong General hospital. Among 142 patients studied, there are 123 females, 19 males. Their ages ranged from 19 to 65 years old (mean 35+/-9.8).

6.A microbiological survey on hygiene of street - food in Hue city
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2002;12(2):41-47
80 samples of street-food (40 samples of raw vegetable, 40 samples of cooked food) were examined at 4 places of crowed eating in Hue city. The infection of aerobic bacterium, total coliform, faecal coliform all were at very high concentration, highly-polluted level. 6 species of S.aureus and 3 species of NAG were isolated, 62.5% samples of cooked food and 100% samples of raw food were did not meet the sanitary standards, which leads to high risks of food poisoning due to infection

7.Exploration of the effects an artemisinine suspension by subcutaneous injection in white mice infected with Plasmodium berghei
Pharmaceutical Journal 1999;282(10):14-16
Artemisinine was prepared into a suspension suitable for subcutaneous administration in Plasmodium berghei- infected mice. This formulation (20mg/kg b.i.d, total dosage of 200mg/kg) was compared to oral artemisinine (at the same dose) in 50 Plasmodium berghei infected mice. The study also included a non treated control group and a placebo suspension group. The drug was applied for 5 days, beginning at 4 hours after infection. All mice treated by subcutaneous application were alive and did not show any toxicity or side effects due artemisinine. There was no recrudescence during 60 days of follow-up. All mice in the control, placebo and oral artemisinin group died with hyperparasitemia. The result showed that subcutaneous formulation of artemisinin is more effective than oral ones at the same dose.

8.Effects of deworming on nutritional status, anemia in children 36 to 60 month olds
Journal of Medical Research 2003;21(1):45-49
The effect of deworming on nutritional status and anemia were studied on 277 children aged 30-60 months in 3 rural commune in An Giang province (Mekong Delta). A dose of 500mg of mebendazol improved dramatically the body weight and the weight of children. 6 months after the deworning, in intervened group, the gam of weight and height reached 0.3kg and 0.8cm respectively in comparing with control group. Similarly the change in WAZ and HAZ was also higher in the intervened group than the control group (0.13 and 0.17 units respectively). Anemia incidence decreased by 12.1% while in the control group 5.6%. Mean level of hemoglobine in intervened group was 0.4g/dl higher than control.

10.Carrier detection of hemophilia A by PCR/RFLP (polymerase chain reaction/polymorphism) based analysis of the intron 18
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;458(8):58-61
Establish DNA polymorphism methods (PCR/RFLP) with marker Bcl1 restriction enzyme on intron 18 for detecting mothers who carried an abnormal X chromosome with hemophilia and transfer to their sons. 4 of 9 families carried intron 18-related mutations of hemophilia A and these mothers transfered mutations to their sons to cause hemophilia patients
