A case of hemangioblastoma of the left lateral ventricle is presented. Only six other cases of the intraventricular hemangioblastoma have been reported. The literature on supratentorial intraventricular hemangioblastoma is reviewed.

Isolated hydroceohalus is an uncommon entity wihch results from obstruction of the level of the foramen of Monnro. We have recently expierience three cases of isolated loculations of the lateral ventricle cause by intraventricular hemorrhage and ventriculitis. All patients were treated sucessfully using one or multiple shunts.

Primary intraventricular oligodendroglioma is uncommon and radiological calcification at that location is quite rare. We are reporting a case of huge primary calcified intraventricular oligodendroglioma in the trigone and occipital horn of the left lateral ventricle totally removed through a left parieto-occipital transcortical approach. The clinical, radiological and surgical details of the case are presented with review of literature.

To study the effect of measurement parameters and hydrocephalus on the pressure volume index(PVI), PVI study was performed in 5 normal and 5 kaolin-induced hydrocephalic cats. The effects of injection volume, speed, laterality and influence of increased intracranial pressure(ICP) in normal and hydrocephalic cats on the PVI value were evaluated. The results were as follows; 1) Larger injection volume, increased ICP by continuous infusion, and presence of ventriculomegaly made the PVI value significantly higher(p<0.01, p<0.001, p<0.05, respectively). 2) Rapid injection made the PVI value significantly lower(p<0.01). 3) Increase of ICP accentuated the effects of injection volume and speed significantly(p<0.01). 4) There was no difference between the PVI values measured with injection into the ipsilateral lateral ventricle and those measured with injection into the cantralateral lateral ventricle. 5) With the above results, it is considered advisable to perform the PVI study with constant injection volume, speed and ICP.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1979;8(1):65-66
In intracranial meningioma the favorite sites are parasagittal, falx, convexity, sphenoid ridge, olfactory groove, and etc. But intraventricular meningioma is rare, especially in right side. Recently we have experienced a 21 year old male patient with huge meningioma within Rt. lateral ventricle. We report this case with a brief review of the literatures.

Symptomatic neuroepithelial cysts of the lateral ventricles are rare. The CT and MRI findings of the intraventricular neuroepithelial cysts in the surgically proven three cases are reported. On CT, the cysts had density similar to CSF, and the cyst walls were generally not seen. The cyst contents were slightly higher signal than CSF signal in Tl-weighted and proton density MR images. The delicate cyst walls were easily seen in spin echo MR images. MRI was better than CT in the demonstration of the cyst wall and the evaluation of the cyst content in patients with neuroepithelial cysts in the lateral ventricles.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 2001;45(6):631-634
Congenital glioblastoma multiforme is relatively rare accounting for 2-9% of all congenital brain tumors. We deseribe a case of congenital glioblastoma multiforme which occurred in the lateral ventricle. T1-weighted images revealed high signal intensity, with areas of internal low signal intensity, while T2-weighted images showed low signal intensity with focal internal high-signal portions. Post-contrast T1-weighted images depicted a lateral ventricular mass which extended to adjacent brain parenchyme and had a serpentine signal void representing internal vessel.

Intraventricular cysticercosis is the rest form of cerebral cysticercosis and almost all are within the fourthand third ventricles. Authors have experienced a case of pathologically proven giant intraventricular cysticercalcyst involving the lateral ventricle, studied by conventional CT and metrizamide CT, and report with brief reviewof literature.
