Objective To investigate the effect of blood specimen collection from umbilical vein catheter on catheter usage condition and relevant complications. Methods 80 premature infants with indwelling umbilical vein catheter were divided into the blood collection group and the non-blood collec-tion group, then the hospitalization time, catheter indwelling time and rate of catheter-related complications were compared. The 40 premature infants in the blood colleetion group were subsequently divided into the experimental group in which blood was collected from umbilical vein catheter and the control group in which blood was collected from peripheral blood vessel, then the blood collection time, success rate and influence on newborns were compared. Results There was no significant difference in hospitalization time, catheter indwelling time and rate of catheter-related complications between the blood collection group and the non-blood collection group. There was statistical significance in blood collection time, success rate and adverse reaction on suffering newborns between the experimental group and the control group. Conclusions There was no obvious influence on the regular service of the catheter if only the method is correct and operating procedure is normative, also it possesses advantages such as no pain, high success rate, peripheral vascular protection, etc. So, it can be used as one of the ways to collect blood speci-men for critical newborns.

Objective]To explore the aberrant expression of SOD1 gene in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues and adjacent tissues,as well as in NPC cell lines, then to observe the effect of SOD1 on NPC cells metastatic ability and investigate the intrinsic?mechanism.[Methods]Immunohistochemical technique was used to examine SOD1 expression in carcinoma tissues and adjacent tissues(n=10). Small interfering RNAs and inhibitor LCS-1 were used to knockdown of SOD1 expression and inhibit SOD1 activity, respectively. Then, wound healing test and migration assay were applied to detect cell metastatic ability in vitro. Real-time PCR and Western Blot were used to analyze the expression of EMT-related genes(E-cadherin,Vimentin,Twist).[Results]SOD1 was found to be significantly up-regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues(n = 7 ,70%),compared to control. SOD1 was also highly expressed in highly metastatic potential NPC cell lines(CNE2,5-8F,S18)compared with low metastatic ability cell lines(6-10B). Knockdown SOD1 expression or inhibit SOD1 activity suppress cell motility in CNE2 and 5-8F cells. Finally,we demonstrate that SOD1 inhibition plays a role in induction of epithelial marker E-cadherin and has an opposite effect on mesenchymal marker vimen tin and transcriptional factor twist.[Conclusion]These results suggest that SOD1 contributes to EMT and might be important for tumor metastasis in NPC.

OBJECTIVEThe purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the results of flowcytometry analyses of different clinical stage, location, pathologic grade and cell origin of oral and maxillofacial non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), and the diagnostic value of flowcytometry analysis in lymphoma.
METHODThis study analyzed 50 oral and maxillofacial NHL cases and 10 reactive lymph nodes (formalin fixed and paraffin embedded) by flowcytometry (FCM).
RESULTSReactive lymph nodes were all diploid. The diploid rate of NHL was 54%, and aneuploidy rate was 46%. There was statistically significant difference between reactive lymph nodes and NHL in the DNA ploidy status and cell cycle data (SPF, CV, S + G2/M, DI). The S phase fraction (SPF) and S + G2/M had close relationship with the grade of NHL. SPF value and DNA ploidy status had no obvious relationship with the prognosis.
CONCLUSIONThe results suggested that the FCM had diagnostic value in NHL, especially when the morphological diagnosis was difficult. Although the cell cycle data had no prognostic value, SPF and SPF + G2/M can show the proliferative status of NHL, which can help clinical doctor select therapeutic method.

Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2012;37(2):179-184
OBJECTIVE:
To examine the plasma adiponectin concentration in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients combined with abnormal glucose metabolism, and to explore the clinical significance of adiponectin.
METHODS:
Eighty-seven hospitalized CHD patients confirmed by coronary angiography from August 2009 to April 2010 at Xiangya Hospital were enrolled and divided into 3 groups according to their glucose metabolic state: 31 patients were selected as a simple CHD group, 28 were selected as a CHD combined with impaired glucose tolerance group (CHD+IGT group), and the other 28 as a CHD combined with diabetes mellitus group (CHD+DM group). The 31 healthy subjects who got health checkup at the same time were enrolled as a normal control group (NC group). Plasma adiponectin was measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. The height, weight, waistline and blood pressure of all the subjects were checked, and the fasting blood glucose (FBG), insulin, lipids, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), free fatty acids (FFA), the liver function and the renal function were checked as well. The body mass index and the homeostasis model were assessed for insulin resistance.
RESULTS:
1) Plasma adiponectin in the CHD group, the CHD+IGT group, and the CHD+DM group was all lower than that in the NC group (P<0.05); 2) Compared with the CHD group, the plasma adiponectin in the CHD+DM group was the lowest, followed by the CHD+IGT group, and there was significant difference in the 3 groups (P<0.05); 3) Plasma adiponectin level was positively related with the high density lipoprotein cholesterol-C (HDL-C) (r=0.483, P<0.01), while it was negatively related with the hs-CRP and Gensini score (r=-0.489, P<0.05;r=-0.252, P<0.05).
CONCLUSION
Plasma adiponectin concentration is reduced in the CHD patients, and significantly reduced in CHD patients combined with abnormal glucose metabolism. Plasma adiponectin concentration decreases significantly with the severity of abnormal glucose metabolism. CHD and the abnormal glucose metabolism are important influence factors for plasma adiponectin. That plasma adiponectin level significantly decreases may be the superimposed results of CHD and abnormal glucose metabolism. Plasma adiponectin combined with HDL-C, hs-CRP and Gensini score may provide the reference in the judgement of the severity of CHD patients with abnormal glucose metabolism.

Acta Physiologica Sinica 2021;73(1):35-41
Fentanyl as a synthetic opioid works by binding to the mu-opioid receptor (MOR) in brain areas to generate analgesia, sedation and reward related behaviors. As we know, cerebellum is not only involved in sensory perception, motor coordination, motor learning and precise control of autonomous movement, but also important for the mood regulation, cognition, learning and memory. Previous studies have shown that functional MORs are widely distributed in the cerebellum, and the role of MOR activation in cerebellum has not been reported. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of fentanyl on air-puff stimulus-evoked field potential response in the cerebellar molecular layer using in vivo electrophysiology in mice. The results showed that perfusion of 5 μmol/L fentanyl on the cerebellar surface significantly inhibited the amplitude, half width and area under the curve (AUC) of sensory stimulation-evoked inhibitory response P1 in the molecular layer.
