Objective:To observe the effect of Governor Vessel-unblocking and mind-refreshing acupuncture plus functional training on neural development in infants with brain damage and seek an effective method for early intervention of infantile brain damage.Methods:Eighty infants with brain injury were recruited and allocated to a treatment group and a control group by their visiting sequence,with 40 cases in each group.The control group received exercise training,40 min each session and 6 sessions a week,and tuina treatment,30 min each time and 6 times a week.Based on the treatment protocol for the control group,the treatment group additionally received Governor Vessel-unblocking and mind-refreshing acupuncture,3 times a week and 10 sessions as a course at a 2-week interval.Before the treatment and after 14-week treatment,the gross motor function measure (GMFM) and developmental quotient (DQ) of Bejing Gesell developmental scale were used to evaluate the development of the infants.Results:After the treatment,the GMFM score and DQs of Gesell scale all increased by different levels in the two groups,and the intra-group differences were statistically significant (all P＜0.05);the scores of the treatment group were superior to those of the control group,and the between-group differences were statistically significant (all P＜0.05).Conclusion:Governor Vessel-unblocking and mind-refreshing acupuncture plus functional training can significantly promote the development of gross motor and cognitive functions in infants with brain damage,and it is an early and effective intervention for infantile brain damage.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of continuous subcutaneous adenosine infusion on pulmonary hypertension in chronically hypoxic rats.

METHODSTwenty-four SD rats were randomized into normoxic group, hypoxic group and adenosine-treated hypoxic group. Hypoxic environment was simulated in a chamber filled with 10% oxygen and 90% nitrogen. After 7 days of hypoxia, adenosine were administered subcutaneously in the rats in adenosine-treated group at the rate of 100 microg kg(-1) min(-1) via an Alzet micro-osmotic pump for 14 days, while the pumps in the other two groups contained normal saline. After 21 days of hypoxia, pulmonary artery pressure and tail-cuff blood pressure were measured, with the plasma rennin activity (RA), angiotensin II (AngII), endothelin (ET)-1, and nitric oxide (NO) determined. Inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression in the pulmonary artery of the rats was detected using immunohistochemical method.

RESULTSThe mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) was significantly higher in the hypoxic group than that in the normoxic group (P<0.01) and in the adenosine-treated group (P<0.01). Plasma ET-1 was significantly higher but plasma NO significantly lower in the hypoxic group than in the normoxic group (P<0.01) and the adenosine-treated group (P<0.01). iNOS expression in the pulmonary artery was higher in the hypoxic group than in normoxic group (P<0.01), and adenosine significantly increased iNOS expression in comparison with the normoxic and hypoxic groups (P<0.01). Plasma RA and AngII in the hypoxic group were significantly higher than those in the normoxic group (P<0.01) and the adenosine-treated (P<0.01).

CONCLUSIONAdenosine administered by continuous subcutaneous infusion alleviates chronically hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension in rats, in which rennin angiotensin system, ET-1, and iNOS/NO play a role.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression and clinical significance of KISS-1 mRNA and GPR54 mRNA in endometrial carcinoma.

METHODSThe expression of KISS-1 mRNA and GPR54 mRNA in 32 patients with endometrial carcinoma, 10 patients with endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN) and 12 patients with normal endometrium was detected by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).

RESULTSThe positive rate of KISS-1 mRNA in endometrial carcinoma, EIN and normal endometrium was 37.5%, 80.0% and 83.3% respectively (endometrial carcinoma vs EIN or normal endometrium, P < 0.05). The expression of KISS-1mRNA in patients with endometrial carcinoma was correlated with its clinical stage, myometrial invasion and lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05). In endometrial carcinoma, the more advanced clinical stage, the lower expression of KISS-1 mRNA was detected. The positive rate of GPR54 mRNA in endometrial carcinoma, EIN and normal endometrium was 78.1%, 70.0% and 66.7% respectively, with no significant statistical difference (P > 0.05). It was not correlated with the clinical stage, histology grade, myometrial invasion or lymph node metastasis (P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe interaction of KISS-1 and GPR54 may play an important role in inhibiting the invasion and metastasis of endometrial carcinoma.

OBJECTIVETo sum up one-stage complete correction of infantile aortic coarctation (CoA) or interrupted aortic arch (IAA) associated with intracardiac anomalies through median sternotomy.

METHODSThe clinical data of 52 infants with CoA or IAA associated with intracardiac anomalies from May 2004 to March 2010 was analyzed. There were 32 male and 20 female, aged from 25 d to 7 months with a mean of (2.03 ± 0.15) months, weighted from 2.5 to 8.0 kg with a mean of (3.9 ± 0.5) kg. All of intracardiac defect were corrected by self-arcula cordisand. Forty cases with CoA were underwent by operative techniques, including resection with end to side anastomosis, extended end to side anastomosis (n = 34), and vertical incision and cross joint (n = 3). Three cases of pseudo-CoA were cut and ductus arteriosus or ligamentum arteriosus and dissected arch. Twelve cases of IAA were underwent by extended end to side anastomosis.

RESULTSThe time of cardiopulmonary bypass was (98 ± 41) min, and all patients hemorrhaged (78 ± 13) ml during operation. One case of IAA associated with double outlet right ventricle died after 43 d post-operation because of left bronchial stenosis. The other patients were in good condition. The rate of aneurysm formation was 11% in 1 to 6 years' follow-up.

CONCLUSIONSOne-stage complete correction of infantile CoA or IAA associated with intracardiac anomalies through median sternotomy yields excellent intermediate surgical results. This operative approach is beneficial, not only with shorten period of therapy and loss operative cost.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of lesions of acute guttate psoriasis induced by upper respiratory tract infection, and to compare the difference in the different species between patients and healthy controls. Methods A total of 11 cases of acute guttate psoriasis induced by upper respiratory tract infection and 11 cases of healthy control without skin lesions of any dermatosis were included in this study. The 16SrDNA sequencing technology was used for analyzing data. The aseptic cotton swabs were used for sampling. DNA extraction and quality inspection were then performed. PCR amplification, library construction, microbial gene extraction, purification and recovery process were also performed. Then the gene samples were sent to be sequenced and to annotate the species. Finally, the data were analyzed by α and β diversity analysis to find the differences in microbial species and the diversity of microbial community. LEfSe analysis was used to find the species with significant difference, and the results were verified by the rank test. Results There was no significant difference in α diversity analysis between the two groups. There was a trend of difference in β diversity analysis between the two groups. However, LEfSe analysis (LED Score was 4) and rank test (P＜0.05) found that acinetobacter was a statistically significant different species and played a major role in the lesions of acute guttate psoriasis. Conclusion The skin lesions of microbiota is developing from one steady state to another one in the primary or recurrent acute guttate psoriasis patients with the history of upper respiratory infection. The different species of acinetobacter may play a key role in this change. However there is no significant difference in the overall microbial community between two groups.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the protective effect and potential mechanism of desmethylbellidifolin (DMB) in chronic alcoholic fatty liver disease. METHODS C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into five groups. Control, meta?doxine and DMB group (high dose and low dose) mice were fed with Lieber-DeCarli liquid diet containing 5％alcohol for six weeks. Pair-fed group mice were fed with a liquid diet containing the same calories. After treatment, serum GOT, GPT, TG and hepatic T-CHO, TG, GSH, GSH-Px, SOD and CAT levels were measured. Ectopic liver lipid deposition was determined by oil red O and hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining. Lipid metabolism and autophagy related genes expression were determined by real-time PCR and Western blotting. Electron microscope and laser scanning confocal microscope were used to detect autophagosome and autophagy flux. RESULTS DMB treatment markedly reduced serum TG, GOT and GPT levels in alcohol-induced mice, as well as hepatic levels of T-CHO, TG and MDA, while increased the GSH, GSH-Px, SOD and CAT levels in the liver. Oil red O and HE staining showed that the alcohol-induced lipid accumulation and hepatocyte morphology changes were significantly improved by DMB treatment. Mecha?nistically, the expression of stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 and fatty acid synthase were significantly decreased, while lipoly?sis related hormone-sensitive lipase was elevated in mouse liver by DMB treatment. In addition, DMB could inhibit the phosphorylation of Akt and mTORC1, and activate autophagy process by inducing autophagy related genes expression, such as LC3, ATG5 and ATG7. Moreover, treatment with DMB notably increased the number of autolysosome and promote the autophagy flux, which may therefore induce the lipolysis and oxidation of lipids and prevent the alcohol-induced excessive lipid accumulation in the liver. CONCLUSION DMB exerts a protective role in alcoholic fatty liver dis?ease by regulating the Akt-mTORC1 pathway mediated autophagy activation.
