International Eye Science 2008;8(12):2373-2375
·Uveitis is an inflammation of any or all parts of the uveal tract including the iris, ciliary body and the choroid. Despite current advances in diagnosis and management, visual loss occurs in 35%-45% of patients with uveitis. The etiopathogenesis of uveitis remains unknown; it may be associated with environmental and immunogenetic factors. Many studies have demonstrated polymorphisms in major histocompatibility complex (MHC) genes may determine involvement in uveitis. Recently polymor-phisms in non-MHC genes, including cytokine and che-mokine genes, have been reported to play important roles in the pathogenesis of uveitis. This article reviewed the advances in the studies on cytokine and chemokine gene polymorphisms associated with uveitis.
3.Synthesis and structure of the Salen-Mn compound
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(5):281-282
ObjectiveTo synthesize metal complex that exhibits superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like activity and determine its structure.MethodsThis chemical compound was synthesized by means of reflux in laboratory. Its structure was examined by infrared spectra (IR),nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectra(H-NMR) and mass spectra (MS).The activity of the SOD was determine by xanthine oxidase (XOD).ResultsThe IR indicted that this complex showed a typical absorption band of -OH,C=N and benzene. The H-NMR reveals the existence of metal ion manganese (Mn3+ ,paramagnetic). The molecular weight was 365, which was obtained by EI-MS analysis. And this complex showed SOD-like activity.ConclusionA metal complex with low molecular weight and SOD-like activity has been synthesized.
4.Protective effects of the compound with low molecular weight of anti-free radical on brain injury in rats
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(7):406-407
Objective To study the protective effects of the compound with low molecular weight of anti free radical on brain ischemic and hypoxic injuries in rats. Methods The model of brain ischemic and hypoxic injuries in rats was established by unilateral carotid artery ligature just for 2 h. The compound was injected 30 minutes after the rats act on hypoxic state (10% O2+90%N2) for 1 h. Then the serum of rats was separated and the value of the superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and malondiade (MDA) were determined, and the pathological changes were observed in brain tissue. Results Compared with rats in the model group, the compound decreased the concentrations of MDA in serum (P<0.05), and raised the level of SOD (P<0.05) significantly in therapy group. Otherwise, the pyramidal cells remained organized order, with only a few cells degenerated occasionally in rats of therapy group. Conclusion The compound has SOD like activity. It can scavenge the free radical and inhibit peroxidation of lipid, so it can prevent brain cells from the damage.

Objective To investigate the score changes of graduates majoring in clinical medicine after using the method of “role of identification”. Methods Sixty students who were undertaking internship in Endocrinology Department of Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital received three-week clinical teaching and examination. Then they got into one-week “role of identification”, and were appointed as clinical teachers to teach what they have learned during the last 3 weeks to the next batch of interns and make another examination. Scores of the two examinations were compared. Results Scores of the examination after received the method in“role of identification”improved significantly (P<0.01). Conclusion The method of“role of identification”can enhance clinical medicine graduates’ mastery of professional knowledge.

This study was aimed to establish the HPLC fingerprint of liposoluble components inDanshen capsule for quality evaluation. HPLC was run on a Welch ultimate XB-C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) with acetonitrile-water as mobile phase in gradient elution at a flow rate of 1 mL·min-1. The column temperature was 25℃. The detection wavelength was 270 nm. The injection volume was 10μL. The results showed that 7 and 11 common peaks were selected as the HPLC fingerprint of liposoluble components inDanshen capsule from two manufactures, respectively. The similarities of 20 batches of samples were above 0.9. It was concluded that the analysis was stable and reproducible, which can be used as a basis for evaluating the quality control of liposoluble components in Danshen capsule.

Objective To establish a scientific and feasible evaluation index system of the quality of health education among the elderly in the community. Methods Based on the results of literature review, theory analysis,cross-sectional study and interviews,a draft evaluation index system was formulated. Then Delphi method was conducted on 28 specialists around the country, the weight of each index was determined by hierarchy analysis. Results After three rounds of Delphi procedure, the response rates of the three round consultation were all above 85%,and the authority coefficient and coordination coefficients was 0.858,0.210,respectively.An evaluation index system which covered three first-level items,7 second-level items and 35 third-level items was formulated. Conclusions Based on survey of the elderly and interviews of health education staffs in the community, and using the method of Delphi to collect experts' suggestion,a strong maneuverability and high reliability quality evaluation index system was formulated, which provided guidance for community health education of the elderly, and promoted its development towards scientization and standardization.

With the increasing number of food safety problems caused by the abusing and misusing of plant hormones, it will be increasingly important to strengthen the trace detection of plant hormones in foods. In this study, benzyl methacrylate_methyl methacrylate_based amphiphilic polymer micelles were prepared, and a method for trace determination of five plant hormones was established by using these micelles. This method was rapid, sensitive and reproducible. Through optimization, the best experimental conditions were obtained as follows: 2 g/L polymer micelles, 50 mmol/L NaOH_H3BO3 buffer (pH 9. 2), 15 kV running voltage. Based on this novel method, naphthalene acetic acid in the solution of rooting powder was determined.

Objective To establish a new quality control standard for danshen capsules. Methods The qualitative identification of danshen capsules was characterized by ultraviolet fluorescence and thin-layer chromatography( TLC ). The contents of tanshinoneⅡA,cryptotanshinone, salvianolic acid B,danshensu and protocatechuic aldehyde in danshen capsules were determined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)on a C18 column. The flow rate was 1 mL·min-1,and the column temperature was 35 ℃. Results The HPLC linear ranges of tanshinone ⅡA,cryptotanshinone, salvianolic acid B, danshensu and protocatechuic aldehyde were 2. 046-40. 92 μg · mL-1 ,1. 482 25 -59. 29 μg · mL-1 ,1. 502 55 -60. 102 μg·mL-1 ,11. 49-459. 582 μg·mL-1 ,and 0. 617 4-24. 696 μg·mL-1 ,respectively, and r values were 0. 999 9. The average recoveries were 99. 66%(RSD of 0. 91%)for tanshinoneⅡA,99. 26%(RSD of 0. 88%)for cryptotanshinone,99. 09%(RSD of 0. 76%)for salvianolic acid B,100. 51%(RSD of 0. 62%)for danshensu, and 100. 62%(RSD of 0. 82%)for protocatechuic aldehyde, respectively. The contents of the tanshinoneⅡA,cryptotanshinone, salvianolic acid B,danshensu showed a certain high level in the 3 batches of danshen capsule samples, but protocatechuic aldehyde was low by comparison. Conclusion The HPLC method is proven to be sensitive, accurate, repeatable, and can be used for quality control of the danshen capsules.
