2.Clinical application of magnetic attachment in restoration of Kennedy Ⅰ dentition defect
Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology 2014;20(2):123-125
Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of magnetic attachment on Kennedy Ⅰdentition defect. Methods Totally thirty cases of Kennedy Ⅰ dentition defect were enrolled.Magfit EX 600 magnetic attachments were applied as the extra-coronal retainer on abutment, meanwhile the guide plane and key-key way were applied as the stablizinge apparatus for dentures. The removable partial dentures with magnetic attachment were fabricated in casting framework way. After the clinical examination,X-ray and patients' subjective feeling interview, the satisfaction status to the dentures was evaluated. Results Totally thirty patients were followed up for a period ranging from 1 to 3 years.25 patients were satisfied with the dentures in both function and esthetic results.Additionally, one patient was found to have gingivitis, and 2 patients were found the attachments loosened. These 3patients were considered basically satisfied subjects. The overall satisfaction rate was 93.3%.The rest 2 patients were found alveolar bone absorption, which led to base plate of molar teeth region sinking, and partial plastic base plate of denture cracked or damaged. Therefore the 2 patients were considered as unsatisfied subjects. Conclusions The removable partial dentures with magnetic attachment not only exhibit characteristics as compact, aesthetic and comfort, but also supply reliable retention, stablization, excellent masticatory efficiency and enough protection for abutments in patients bearing Kennedy Ⅰ dentition defect.

Objective To study the expression of 9 delayed rectifier potassium channel subunits in human gastric cancer cell line AGS, as well as the effect of down-regulation of the expression of Kv1.5 on AGS cells proliferation. Methods RT-PCR technique was employed to detect the mRNA expression of Kv1.1, Kv1.2, Kv1.3, Kv1.5, Kv1.6, Kv2.1, Kv2.2, Kv3.1 and Kv3.2 in AGS cells. Once the expression of Kv1.5 protein was confirmed by immunofluorescence, small interference RNA (siRNA) was applied to down-regulate the Kv1.5 protein expression, then MTT assay and flow cytometry were used to observe the cell proliferation and the cell cycle distribution. Results Totally 7 delayed rectifier potassium channel subunits were detected in AGS cells, among them the mRNA levels of Kv1.3, Kv1.5 and Kv2.1 were much higher than that of the others. It was confirmed by immunofluorescence that the Kv1.5 protein was expressed mainly in AGS cytomembrane. After the endogenous Kv1.5 expression in AGS cells was down regulated by siRNA, the cell proliferation obviously slowed down and the cell growth stopped in G1 period. Conclusion Multiform expression of delayed rectifier potassium channel subunits existed in AGS cells, and Kv1.5 may be involved in the regulation of gastric carcinoma cell proliferation by modulating the cell cycle.
5.Study Progress of Potassium Channel in Pulmonary Artery Hypertension
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(13):-
Pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH) is a combination of factors caused abnormal pulmonary hemodynamics.Pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) progressive as clinical features of PAH.In recent years, studies had shown that pulmonary artery smooth muscle cell membrane potassium channels at the time of PAH and pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV) and vascular remodeling were closely related to potassium channel in the article on the role of PAH in progress of the study review.

Objective To explore the clinical effect of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in the treatment of intractable hiccup caused by cerebrovascular disease. Methods A total of 74 patients with intractable hiccup caused by cerebrovascular disease were selected. The patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group according to random number table method.28 patients in the control group were given simple western medicine treatment.46 patients in the observation group were treated with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine. The total effective rate and symptom improvement were observed after treatment. Results The total effective rate of observation group was 94.48%,that was 78.57% in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(x2=2.0,P<0.05).Conclusion Combined traditional Chinese and western medicine can significantly reduce intractable hiccup caused by cerebrovascular disease, improve total efficacy, improve the quality of life.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of V AD regimen in the treatment of newly diagnosed stage III multiple myeloma (MM). Methods:26 patients with newly diagnosed stage Ⅲ multiple myel oma were treated with VAD regimen. VAD solution consisted of vincristine (VCR) , doxorubicin(ADR),dexamethasone (Dex).Three continuous treatments in one treatm ent course were considered evaluable.Evaluation included results of serum myelom a protein(M-protein); renal function; proteinuria of 24-hours; bone marrow ; per ipheral blood et al.The side reactions were recorded. The clinical efficacy eval uation was divide into complete response(CR),partial response(PR),minimal-respon se(MR), no change(NC) , plateau progression.Results:5 cases achieved CR(19.3%), 13 cases PR(50%),6 case s MR (23%), 2 cases no change (7.7%). Overall response rate was 92.3%, median su rvival duration was 7 to 84 months (29.6?17months). Conclusions:Achieved marked clinical efficacy with VAD agent in newly diagnosed stage III multiple myeloma. Especially, the patients with renal failure and serious clinical manifestation improved rapidly and significantly.

Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2005;0(12):-
Objective This investigation was to define the occupational security-related factors in community nurses and effective strategies to improve their service awareness and occupational protection ability. Methods A questionnaire was used for 1702 community nurses in Guangzhou to learn occupational security-related factors and occupational protection skills. Results Self-report results found that 21.3% (362/1702) nurses fully understood the occupational security-related factors,12.0% (204/1702) nurses knew the requirement for occupational security, and 12.3% (209/1702) nurse could provide occupational protection. Conclusions These results suggested that most community nurses showed poorer occupational protection awareness and ability. Thus, occupation safety management regulations, standardized performance procedure and emergency response plan should be put forward, and further community nurse training programme need to be initiated.

OBJECTIVE To investigate whether the KCNN4 gene and KPTN gene contribute to a Chinese non-syndromic hearing loss pedigree linked to DFNA4 with positional candidate approach. METHODS The complete coding region of the two genes were amplified with polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and bidirectional sequencing of the PCR products was subsequently applied in the 36 family members to identify the possible mutations or polymorphisms in the candidate genes. RESULTS Sequence analysis of coding regions and splice sites of the two candidate genes in 36 members including 12 hearing-impaired individuals in family Z002 failed to demonstrate any deafness-causing mutations of KCNN4 gene. There was one heterozygous mutation identified in exon10 coding sequence (942C/T) of KPTN gene, which did not result in amino acid change (P302P) as a repoerted synonymous SNP site (rs2293424). This SNP site did not cosegregate with the phenotype of family Z002. CONCLUSION Our study excluded the two candidates, KCNN4 and KPTN , as the causative genes involved in this Chinese DFNA4 pedigree.
