Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of PHENIX electrical stimulation in preventing complications after missed abortion.Method A thousand patients receiving uterine cavity operation on missed abortion were randomized into two groups, 500 cases in each group. Patients in the two groups were asked to orally take Estradiol valerate, successively for 3 d prior to the operation. Right after the operation, the treatment group started to receive electrical stimulation at Guanyuanshu (BL 26) and Guanyuan (CV 4) via PHENIX USB 4/8 neuromuscular stimulation therapeutic apparatus, together with conventional preventive anti-inflammatory treatment; the control group only received the conventional preventive anti-inflammatory treatment after the operation. The colporrhagia duration and the resumption of menstruation in the two groups were observed, and the menstruation, postoperative adhesion ratio and adhesion rate were compared between the two groups.Result There were significant differences in comparing the duration of colporrhagia and the time of the resumption of menstruation after the operation between the two groups (P<0.05); there were significant differences in comparing the postoperative menstruation, intrauterine adhesion ratio and adhesion rate between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion PHENIX electrical stimulation can shorten the time of colporrhagia after missed abortion, promote the resumption of menstruation, and effectively prevent intrauterine adhesions.

Objective To analyze the dermal irritation characteristics of 8 types of cosmetics.Methods The selected 917 cosmetics samples of 8 types,which were underwent the health safety test in China during 2005-2007,were assessed in the acute dermal irritation according to the related standards and the data were statistically analyzed using CMH method.Results The dermal-irritant samples were detected in different levels in 8 types of cosmetics.In terms of the irritation of cosmetics and the dermal damage caused by cosmetics,the cosmetics for hair,for face clean and for bath showed a significant higher proportion compared with the other types of cosmetics and the dermal damage could last for more than 14 days.Conclusion The acute dermal-irritability is different in 8 types of cosmetics,the cosmetics for hair,for face clean and for bath can cause the irritation and damage in the skin in degrees.

[Summary] The HK-2 cells with different culture media were divided into normal glucose group (NG group,5.5 mmol/L D-glucose) ; high glucose group (HG group,30 mmol/L D-glucose) ; mannitol group (MG group,5.5mmol/L D-glucose+24.5 mmol/L mannitol) ; 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 [1,25-(OH)2D3] groups (V1-V3 group)which were exposed to medium containing 30 mmol/L D-glucose and different concentrations of 1,25-(OH)2D3 ;Nethyl-cysteim control group (NAC group,30 mmoL/L D-glucose + 1.0 mmol/L N-Nethyl-cysteim) ; and ethanol control group(SG group,30 mmol/L D-glucose+6.86 × 10-2 mol/L ethanol).The level of intracellular reactive oxygen species,mitochondrial membrane potential,activity of total-superoxide dismutase (T-SOD),level of malondialdehyde,expression of UCP2 mRNA and protein in HK-2 cells were detected.Compared with NG group,the mitochondrial membrane potential significantly decreased in HG group (P＜0.01),and the mitochondrial membrane potential in V group was lower than that in HG group(P＜0.01).The activity ofT-SOD in HG group was significantly lower than that in NG group(P＜0.01),while its level of malondialdehyde was significantly higher than that in NG group(P＜0.01).Compared with HG group,the activity of T-SOD in V groups was significantly increased (P＜0.05)and the level of malondialdehyde in these groups significantly decreased (P＜0.01).The mRNA expression of UCP2 in HG group was increased significantly in comparison with NG group (P ＜ 0.05) and the expression in V groups was significantly decreased in comparison with HG group (P＜0.01).The results suggest that 1,25-(OH)2D3 could reduce the mitochondrial membrane potential,the production of reactive oxygen species,and regulate the expression of UCP2 in order to suppress the oxidative stress induced by high glucose.

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of endoscopic variceal ligation versus pericardial devascularization in the treatment of portal hypertension.Methods The clinical data of 101 cirrhotic patients with gastroesophageal varices and variceal hemorrhage from January 2010 to January 2012 were analyzed.Fifty-three patients received endoscopic variceal ligation,and forty-eight patients received pericardial devascularization.Postoperative changes in liver function and hypersplenism were compared between the two groups.The rate of rehaemorrhagia and incidence of postoperative complications after surgery were compared as well.Continuous data were expressed as mean ±SD,and categori-cal data were expressed as number of cases or percentage.Comparison of continuous data between the two groups was made by independent-samples t test,and comparison of categorical data was made by chi-square test.Results After surgery,the variceal ligation group showed no significant changes in liver reserve function,while the albumin level was significantly decreased in the pericardial devascularization group (t=2.512,P<0.05).There were no significant changes in the counts of white blood cells and platelets in the endoscopic variceal ligation group after surgery (P>0.05),but significant increases in the counts of white blood cells and platelets were detected in the pericardial devascular-ization group (P<0.05).The rates of postoperative haemorrhage in the two groups were:3 months,7.5%vs 6.2%(χ2 =0.066,P>0.05), 6 months,7.5%vs 8.3%(χ2 =0.021,P>0.05),and 1 year,9.4%vs 8.3%(χ2 =0.038,P>0.05).The incidence rates of postopera-tive complications in the two groups were 24.5%and 50%,respectively (χ2 =7.040,P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with pericardial devascularization,endoscopic variceal ligation causes fewer microlesions,preserves liver function,and leads to a lower incidence of postopera-tive complications.However,if hypersplenism is observed in the cirrhotic patients with gastroesophageal varices and variceal hemorrhage,peri-cardial devascularization can be used to control the hypersplenism and prevent esophageal hemorrhage.

Objective To investigate the f un ction of the autotransplanted splenic tissue. Method s 120 Kunming mice were randomly divided into two groups: sham operation group and group of 50% autograft splenic tissue implantation in the om ental pouch after total splenectomy. Six months after, splenic transplants were removed, and C 3b and Fc receptor and the expression of protein on the macr ophages was assayed in the implanted splenic tissue. Results The expression of protein and the receptor on the mac rophage in transplants were similar with that in the normal group. Conclusion The function of the macrophages in t he implanted splenic tissue judged by the expression of protein and receptor is normal, the autotransplanted splenic tissue can fulfil the function of the norma l spleen.

Objective To elucidate the role of insulin receptor and its ?-subunit autophosphorylation in evoking insulin resistance in non-obese type 2 diabetes. Methods 14 patients with non-obese type 2 diabetes and 12 healthy subjects were enrolled in this study. Insulin receptor numbers and its insulin affinity in erythrocytes were measured using radio-labelled ligand binding assay described by Comi et al. Insulin receptor autophosphorylation in erythrocytes membrane was initiated by adding insulin and ?- 32 P ATP. Then the membrane proteins were resolved on 7 5% SDS-PAGE and subjected to autoradiography. Results The numbers of high and low affinity receptors in erythrocytes of type 2 diabetes were 21?13 and 955?427 per cell respectively, and they showed no significant difference as compared with control. The high affinity constant(K 1) and low affinity constant(K 2) of insulin receptors in erythrocytes of type 2 diabetes were (1 70?0 93)?10 -9 LM -1 and (1 44?0 86)?10 -7 LM -1 respectively, also displaying no significant difference in comparison with the control. Objective To compare the effect of emergency percutaneous transluminal coronanry angioplasty and thrombolytic therapy (PTCA) in acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods 52 cases of AMI were treated by emergency PTCA while 58 cases of AMI were treated by thrombolytic therapy, we then compared the clinical effect between two groups both in hospital and the follow-up period. Results In the emergency PTCA group, 3 cases died while 49 cases were successful (success rate 94.2%) and the average staying in hospital was 14.6 d. In this group the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVFT) was 45.5%?4.3%. During the follow-up period of 2～18 months, 3 cases of angina pectoris occurred again and 3 case accepted the treatment of selective PTCA in the emergency PTCA group. In the group of thrombolysis, 8 cases died while 50 cases were successful (the ratio of success rate 86.2%) and the average staying in hospital was 26.4 d. In this group the LVFT was 37.6?6.2. During the follow-up period of 2～18 months, 17 cases of angina pectoris occurred again and 17 cases accepted the treatment of selective PTCA in the thrombolysis group.
